Cursed Destiny: The Rejected Werewolf Prince’s Unwanted Wife

In a magnificently looking century-old temple situated on the top of the hill among towering trees and blooming flowers, rays of sunlight streamed through clear glass windows and cast a warm glow on the man and woman standing in the chapel, making them look ethereal. 

The air was filled with the sweet scent of flowers and love between the couple. Soft melodies of the violin could be heard among the whispers of the people gathered to witness this wedding of the century. 

"Today, we have gathered here for the wedding of Prince Cristiano Lockwood and Miss Marilyn Sinclair," The priest announced and the couple standing on the altar received smiles from everyone in the audience who were there to witness their grand wedding. 

Prince Cristiano Lockwood was the crown prince of Moonhaven, a country situated in the continent of Versailles. He was the eldest son of King Christopher Lockwood and Charlotte Lockwood. Marilyn Sinclair was the daughter of the prime minister of the kingdom. She was a lady of importance as her father served as a prime minister to the king while her uncle was the Alpha of his pack.

No lady was of her standing in the entire country. When Prince Cristiano discovered at eighteen that Marilyn was his mate, they had been inseparable ever since. They had been so in love with each other for seven years that everyone was waiting for their wedding all their life. 

Prince Cristiano was the strongest werewolf of his generation and his wolf was one of a kind. It was said that he was the second royal in the family lineage to get such a legendary werewolf. The king declared him as his heir when he came of age as there was no better heir than him, moreover, with Marilyn as his future wife, he was supposed to make a big name for himself. 

Moonhaven country started as a small pack hundreds of years ago. However, when the pack started expanding, it was hard for a single Alpha to manage as the leader. The ancestors of the Lockwood family of that time came up with the idea of transforming the Moonhaven pack into a country with relatively smaller packs under it.

The Lockwood Alpha became the king and other stronger werewolves were declared to be Alphas of their respective packs. 

Today there were two hundred smaller packs and ten big packs in Moonhaven who lived peacefully under the rule of King Christopher. 

In a world where royalty was hardly seen, the Lockwood family stayed as royalty with a rich history. The human world saw Moonhaven as a rich country with an authoritarian head. Since they were not aware of the nature of the inhabitants of the country, they assumed Moonhaven's people to be pitiful living under a cruel royal family even in the modern age. 

The crown prince, whom the media of the whole world (humans and other creatures) adored for his beauty, was smiling lovingly at his fiance who was looking magnificent in her wedding dress. Marilyn had her eyes cast on the ground unable to look up at him. 

The priest made them hold hands as he asked, "Do you, Lady Marilyn Sinclair, take His Highness Prince Cristiano Lockwood, as her husband and companion in sickness and health?"

Marilyn didn't answer. Everyone began cooing that the future crown princess was so in love with the crown prince that she could speak with overwhelming emotions. 

The priest asked her again, "Do you, Lady Marilyn Sinclair, take His Highness Prince Cristiano Lockwood, as her husband and companion in sickness and health?"

When Marilyn didn't answer again, Cristiano said in a soft tone, "It's okay. I understand you are emotional. If you can't speak, just nod your head."

Everyone was surprised at his soft tone. He was known for his cruelty just like his ancestors but for his lover, he had reserved softness and immeasurable love. 

Suddenly, Marilyn removed her veil and looked into his eyes and said, "I'm sorry, Cristiano. I can't marry you."

"It's not time to play around," He said calmly. Though he had started to get frustrated at her games. "It's our wedding. Let's complete the rituals first."

"Cristiano, I'm sorry but I cannot marry you," This time she spoke in a very hard and firm tone. "I don't want to marry you!"

The crowd began murmuring, unable to grasp the reality. 

"You are my mate," Cristiano reminded her. Something snapped inside him. He signalled his wolf to calm down as it was his beautiful fiance who he could not hurt. If it was someone else, the person would have been ripped apart by now. 

"I don't want to be your mate any more," She hatefully spat. "If I marry you, I will always be miserable. I don't want a life like that. I break this bond, Cristiano."

Cristiano just stared at her, unable to do or say a thing. He had to use a great amount of strength to not ooze bloodlust. He was using all his strength to control his wolf from coming out as for he was aware, if his wold came out, there would be destruction all around him. 

She chanted the spell that no mate had ever dared to chant in the history of the Moonhaven, the forbidden spell granted by the moon goddess herself to break the red string of fate which was weaved by the goddess herself. 

"I, Marilyn Sinclair, reject Cristiano Lockwood as her mate," Marilyn said with firm but bloodshot eyes. 

"Marilyn!" Queen Charlotte and Sophia Sinclair screamed at the same time when the lighting pierced the tall windows of the church and befell on the two people standing on the altar and broke their fated ties.
