Chapter 15: Tended to her wounds
" Senior! How are your wounds now? Did you treat them? ", Suddenly...Enzo asked.
Sofia shook her head, she hadn't gone to the hospital yet and it's also true that she has no intention to visit one. On top of that, there was no reason for her to go to the hospital since Mary had already tended to her.
Enzo looked at her hand and realised that someone had already patched some bandages to the scratches on her body. The band-aid on her fair hands was like a blemish, giving others an idea that she must be some gangster or someone who's in the team of people who goes around bullying others.
On the other hand, if someone was to look at her clothes and face, they would be getting the opposite vibe. The jean she was wearing and the green turtle neck crop top she was wearing was implementing her and the wounds were merely looking as if someone had bullied her. Nonetheless....she was looking stunning overall that even a cruel ruler would fall for her at this moment.
Mary looked at them both, she was now certain that they were not strangers to each other from the way they were acting and looking at each other.
" Hey! Do you guys know each other ".
Mary couldn't hold her curiosity and finally blurted out what was on her mind. Sofia turned her head to face mary as a strand of her hair bounced at that moment and fell exactly on her lips...
" Umm! Remember I told you about the junior who helped this morning when I was getting late? it's him...".
Her lips curled in a smile when she was talking about him, indicating that she was seriously happy about Enzo. The atmosphere around them changed to certainly warm...it was clear to Mary that Sofia had taken a liking to this very man who was having lunch with them.
It was the first time that Mary was seeing that somewhat happy type of slight smile on her friend's face after so long. No... it was the first time that she was showing that genuine smile.
Before this...She had seen Sofia smile a lot of times but some were never a smile nonetheless how much was smiling. It was almost like she was forced to give that smile to others or she just simply didn't want to smile at all...because she was never happy.
Even when Sofia was with Mary, she never smiled from the heart and was always pretending to be happy.
No matter what the reason was and in what circumvent she was smiling, it was good to see her happy.
" Junior! What's your name? ", Mary asked turning herself towards Enzo as now she was curious about him and wanted to know every little thing.
If this guy can make her friend smile, it's good to be in his good books and have him on her team.
" I am Enzo. This is my first year in this university ", Enzo kept his introduction short and simple...
He was still worried about Sofia but his heart had already calmed down since she looked okay now.
Still, it looks like there was another problem now...
The moment he introduced himself, Mary's gazed change into something else, she was gleaning like she had found a treasure and that there was no owner yet to claim it.
But...she doesn't want to be the owner of him. Instead, she wants Sofia to become his owner. And she was forgetting something...no! She was unaware of it.
They don't know that Enzo is a vampire, the creature who can suck anyone's blood if hungry and tempted, and the dangerous one at that.
" Umm! Your jacket...I will clean it and return it to you tomorrow if you don't mind ", She touched the jacket with the hand which was placed down under the table.
He just nodded his head. There was actually nothing similar between them, they were also not familiar with each other, so it was pretty awkward between them right now.
" From the looks of it, looks like they both have no interest in reviving this conversation. A person who can make my Sofia lively should stay close to her. But what should I do? ".
It was too bland staying with those both when they were doing nothing and just sitting there like nonliving dolls.
" Ahem! So...Enzo, right? Have you joined any club yet? I mean are interested in joining activity clubs? ".
When students enroll in University, they are asked to join clubs of their interest, it's important for both future grades and interest striking, it helps them in many ways and it's mandatory. Since so many freshers have joined this year, they are required to enroll in the clubs that they find interesting and fun.
Of course, it applies to Enzo as well. No one knows this, but Enzo has participated in these activities many times. After all, he is a thousand years old and has enrolled himself in the university countless times till now. So he was familiar with all the activities.
" I have to join a club? Is it compulsory? ".
No matter how many times he has joined the club, he can never tell them and only act as if it was his first time for a thing like this.
" Of course, you have to. And yeah... it's compulsory. So...have you thought about which club to join? ".
Mary asked him and he turned his full attention towards Sofia. Since his mission is to make her fall in love with him, he needs to cling to her. But he can't make it obvious as well....or else, he will be counted in the list of the boys who are head over heels for her beauty, he might even be eliminated if he is to be too obvious in front of her.
" Senior! If you don't mind, can you tell me in which club you are? ".
" Me? I am in a reading club. Our club has collections of all types of books. It's not just about the study material but books about royals, the ancient era, and romantic novels. Since I like quiet places, the reading club is best for me ".
Sofia already has so much trouble on her plate. Whenever she stays at home, her mind how crazy. So to calm her mind and heart, she goes to the reading club and spends most of her time there.
Mary was a little surprised that he was taking the initiative but this attempt of his was about to go into the drains.
" Enzo! If you are thinking about joining the reading club, I suggest you give up this idea, it's not going to work ".
What Mary said makes sense. Even If Enzo wants to join the reading club, it's close to impossible.
" Why do you say that? Is it because you need to habe the hobby of reading? If you ask me why I want to join that club, it's because I don't like doing any activity...I am kind of lazy you know ".
No one asked him about the reason or tell him to explain, but he end up doing it anyway. Mary was laughing in her heart...
" I won't say he is naive or acting stupid. He doesn't look like those people who wants to go after Sofia and are there for her money. He is Indeed a beauty, if I just remove his glasses...he will look really handsome. I don't mind him going after her but it's just my thinking, not hers, so I can do nothing ", Sofia thought while gleaning like a stupid person.
Sofia understood his reason. " It's actually not that easy to join the club since there are many people who want to join, and there are actually some tests that you have to successfully pass. If you want, I can help you with that ".
She is a member of the student community and she must help those who want her help. If he is in some kind of trouble and asks for her help, she can't deny him.
Enzo was quite puzzled when he heard that many people want to join the club. People always find reading clubs boring. So why are there many people who want to join?
" Senior! Don't people find reading books quite boring? So why is there so much demand for your club? ".
Mary burst into laughter after hearing Enzo. Why is the reading club in demand? How can there be no demand for something when Sofia is the one who's there to welcome them? And the one who's sponsoring it.
Sofia hid her face in embarrassment. It actually is not a good thing that people are eager to join the club.
Since last year when she first applied to the reading club, the demand for that particular club went in the sky.
She was hiding her face and Enzo was still looking at her clueless.
" Anyway! If you want to apply for the Reading club, I will help you talk to the seniors. We are actually not looking for any more people since we have enough ".
