Despite his injury, Basil Jaak only went to see Fenny Marshall at the hotel once, dutifully staying at home the rest of the time, much to Fenny's disappointment.
Previously Bash had never realized Debby Sutton was extremely competent at taking care of people - back scrubbing, administering medicine, changing bandages; she handled it all in one breath. He found it even more comfortable than being nursed by a professional in a hospital.
After a week of being meticulously cared for by Debby, Basil's injuries mostly healed - his shoulder was still a bit weak. And with no signs of Debby's condition rebounding, Mrs. Sutton started considering returning home.
"Little Jaak, have you called Colby? When is he picking us up to head back?" Mrs. Sutton asked Basil while they had dinner.
Basil shook his head in embarrassment, "Not yet!"
