You Look... Different

"Be my wife."

"What?" Alexa exclaimed.

"You see my grandpa, the owner of this company wants me to bring a wife to my birthday party this evening or else he removes my inheritance from me."

The contorted expression on her face told him he needed to do more in his explanation if he wanted her to agree.

"I really do not want to but he his pressuring me and I need your help to play this role, that is if you would want to actually. There will be conditions of course and you will have time to think about it, but for real Miss. Alexa, you have just a few minutes to say yes or no," Bryan explained.

"Sir this is huge. I did not expect this and as you say I should think about it. Can I go out and think?"

"Yes, you can for a few minutes".

As Alexa walked towards the door, she thought of her Mom and her younger brother's school fees and what if this is the answer to her prayers and immediately she turned.

"Yes sir, I will do it," she gave her answer, leaving a shocked Bryan and Fred.

"Are you sure Miss Williams?" Mr Fred asked.

"Yes I will pose as your wife for a while but you will have to do something for me".

"What will that be?" Bryan asked quickly.

AT this stage he was desperate. He knew how his grandfather could be.

"You will have to pay for my mom's medical bill, which is due tomorrow so they can carry out her operation."

"Do not worry you will state all you want in a contract that will be prepared by Mr Fred here and other conditions and rules I will include and it will be signed by both of us. We must be sure to abide by it."

"What other rules are we talking about here?" She asked inquisitively.

"Well there will be time to talk about that but for now we have to fix you up, my birthday party is tonight."

"Fred call in Susan to get Miss Alexa dressed and all set for tonight's party immediately".

"Yes, sir," Fred answered.

"Miss Williams please follow Mr Fred," Bryan ordered, returning his gaze to his work.

"But sir, we have not yet concluded," Alexa quickly said.

"Not now Miss Williams, we will talk later, please just go with them."

Feeling as though there was nothing she could do at this point, she had to agree just because her mother's health would be taken care of.

Fred opened the door and led Alexa out of the office to meet Susan.

The second they arrived at Susan's desk, Fred informed Susan what she needed to do as ordered by their boss.

Immediately, Susan went to work in fixing the appointments with the Best fashion company and hairstylist she knew and Alexa was on her way with Fred to fix herself up.

Bryan was left at the office to fix some files as also sign some contracts, and attend some meetings before he left for his birthday.

A few hours later, Bryan calls Fred to know if all is going well with Alexa and when he could pick her up.

Fred told him everything was in order, he sent him the address that he could come get her so they leave for the party.

A few minutes later, he arrived at the meeting point where Fred told him.

He stepped out of the car, as his driver opened the door for him, he calls Fred again.

"Hey Fred, I can not be kept waiting, where is she? I am outside waiting, you know I do not have time, the old man is waiting and he keeps calling me."

As he kept speaking angrily to Fred, the entrance of the beauty salon opened and Alexa stepped out in a red offs shoulder mermaid gown with lots of sparkles. Her lovely dark hair curly parked with a shiny silver hairpin on the side.

As she walked down the stairs carefully holding her silver purse and silver open-toe heels, Bryan ended the call and received her, stretching out his right hand for her to take.

BADUM! BADUM!

Her heart kept beating fast with each passing second.

She could only pray for this day to pass away quickly so she would be safe from all the worries.

"You look... different. My grandpa would be amazed when he sees you," Bryan said clearing his throat as he opened the door and led Alexa into the Limo he came with and they drove off.

Meanwhile, at the Kenwood mansion, Bryan's grandpa started receiving the guests and kept looking at his grandson and hopefully his future daughter-in-law.

"Where is that boy?" Mr. Kenwood said to Mrs. Kenwood.

"Be Patient Peter, today is his birthday allow him take his time to get ready, besides remember he went to work too", Bryan grandma said to his grandfather Mr. Kenwood.

And while they were at it, the gates were opened, Bryan's limo entered as the crowd dazzled and were all so anxious to see the celebrant. All young spinsters seductively dressed anxiously waiting to get asked out by The Young successful CEO.

Bryan stepped out looking dashing in his black tuxedo. His grandma and grandpa watched anxiously, then Bryan walked to the other side of the car and opened the door as the gorgeous Alexa stepped out and the entire crowd was dazzled, wowed as they all wondered, "Who is she?"

The glass in his grandfather's hands fell off in shock and he looked closely at his wife, they were shocked not only of how beautiful Alexa looked but where on Earth has he been keeping her.
