Chapter 40 Cute Coral

In the towering skyscraper of Li Corporation, on the twenty-eighth floor, sat the CEO's office.

Alexander, clad in a sleek black suit that hugged his muscular frame, exuded power and authority. His glasses lent him a gentle demeanor, but his eyes, as dark as midnight, held a chilling coldness beneath their surface.

"Boss, we've taken action against Walter, but I fear he may have some powerful backing," Assistant Gu spoke evenly, voicing his concerns. "We've deployed spies to monitor his every move and gather information within two days."

Alexander nodded, his fingers gracefully flipping through a contract as he absorbed the details. "Hmm," he muttered, his attention still on the document.

"I'll take my leave now, Boss. I need to prepare for the upcoming meeting with Y-R Company," Assistant Gu said, sensing the tension in the air. With a nod from Alexander, he left the room, breathing a sigh of relief.

The CEO's expression remained inscrutable, the pressure he emanated palpable. Assistant Gu couldn't help but feel the need for raise from his boss.

Glancing at his watch, Alexander reached for his phone. A new number from his mom caught his eye, registered under his name.

Coral number.

A small, fleeting smile graced his lips as he opened Q chat, hoping to find Coral. Yet, she was nowhere to be found, indicating she hadn't created an account.

Sighing, he leaned back in his chair, reminiscing about her smile, her dimples, and her blue eyes.

The thought of Coral going to school and potentially falling in love with boys her age unsettled him, given their age gap.

Lost in thought, Alexander absentmindedly tapped his fingers on the table, his gaze unfocused. The drawer of his desk stood slightly ajar, revealing a gun.

Coral sat cross-legged on the carpet, holding a pen as she slowly wrote names on the page.

A smile appeared on her face as she drew a heart between them, adding a small fish beside it. She giggled and then drew a sun.

She bit her pen as she started drawing raindrops.

"I don't know how such childish things make you happy." Super Bee said, yawning next to her ear.

"You don't understand," Coral said, rolling her eyes. "And you look so sleepy, silly bee. Go and sleep, let me enjoy my drawing." Super Bee buzzed and flew towards the bed.

Coral glanced at the bed where Super Bee disappeared under the sheets.

She resumed her drawing, creating a big devil and labeling it 'Alex'

She bit her pen and started laughing to herself.

When Sofia entered the room, she saw the scene.

"What are you doing?" Sofia asked with a smile as she sat next to Coral.

"Drawing" Coral said, smiling as she showed her work.

Seeing her and James's names, Sofia's heart melted at Coral's cuteness. She couldn't resist and began to squish Coral's cheeks. Coral's moist eyes widened in surprise.

'Cuteness overload' Sofia thought as she finally let go of Coral.

As she picked up the drawing again, she saw the devil labeled ''Alex' and laughed, hugging Coral.

"Can you be any cuter?" Sofia said as she hugged the soft, fragrant Coral, who blushed at the compliment.

"Aunty Sofia, you're beautiful too," Coral said shyly.

"Such a sweet child! Tell aunty, are you excited for school?" Sofia asked.

"Super excited!" Coral said, bouncing happily.

"Hahaha, I see how excited you are! Lol. Ah! I actually forgot why I came here. I'm getting too old and starting to forget things." Sofia said, holding her head.

"No, no, you're not old, Aunty Sofia. With every year, you become more beautiful, refined, experienced, and powerful," Coral said, taking Sofia's hands off her head and holding them. Coral looked at her with stars in her eyes.

"When I grow up, I want to be just like you—kind, elegant," Coral said again, as Sofia's eyes became teary.

"Such a cute child. I will never let you go!" Sofia said emotionally. She felt selfish but hoped they would never find Coral's parents so Coral would stay with her.

Seeing Sofia emotional and teary, Coral softly wiped her tears with her small hands and said, "Don't cry, Aunty. Your tears are too valuable to waste." Sofia smiled.

Nolan stood at the door, recording everything. He is going to stay here for a few weeks.

He smiled gently at the recorded video and quietly left the room.
