Breaker: From A Nobody To A Villainess

The ordinary world is not what it seems. Many strange events unfold in the background but go unnoticed by the masses or are covered up. A supernatural world exists along with the natural world which can only be seen by those called Balancers. Spirits and Evil Spirits exist along with Balancers who possess unique powers to see and fight them. Among the many ordinary humans, a girl undergoes a lot of suffering and experiences a prophetic vision. It grants her knowledge of the hidden world and of some future events. The girl loses almost everything she has and then takes the steps needed to become a Balance Breaker. Her past identity has to be abandoned for the sake of survival so she renamed herself Ash. Ash gains the powers of a Skin-Walker and begins living in such a world taking on the appearances of others, experiencing their lives and living under the mask of another person.

Additional options were in front of her after she had taken the first step and had killed the doctor.

There would be a long road ahead where she would have to leave the mental institute and to go her own way in the world.

The more time that was wasted hesitating and considering helping others was wasted time that could have been spent getting herself out.

Azra felt that the doctor had done well to allow her to accompany him and to be known as someone in his care.

Her face was familiar to most within the mental institution so although it would be a little strange for her to be without the doctor, there would be ways in which she could make use of her present situation.

Azra took action quickly and ignored the pleas of the person in the chair then thought to herself. 'I do not even have to power to protect myself so how can I possibly have enough room for another that could drag me down later?'

It was in her best interest to not allow them free unless she had planned to escape the mental institution another way like releasing the prisoners and taking advantage of the riot.

Her gymnastic skills were rusty and her body was not what it once was so while she did have some confidence in being able to escape by climbing through the vents and manoeuvring through the mental institute to reach the outside, there was still walls and other measures in place to stop intruders from coming in and to stop prisoners from escaping.

There were cameras all around and there was always a risk of failure so a simpler approach would be the best approach.

The death of the doctor could have been put on one of the prisoners but that result would not hold up if the crime scene had been investigated further.

Azra made sure that the door was locked and had cut the restraint on the hand of the person on the chair then placed it in his hand to allow his fingerprint to be left on it.

His arm was moved to the side to hang and the hand was loosened by Azra so that it the scalpel had dropped to the ground. 'This should be enough to fool those who look over this without investigating further.'

If a blood splatter analyst or someone with a better eye for detail came first then they would be able to see signs that she had manipulated the crime scene.

Blood tests would later reveal what was within them and that would eventually lead them to start looking into other areas which would be looking for the person the doctor was looking after.

To a less experienced cop, they would see the scene in front of the, and would come to the conclusion that the patient had got ahold of the scalpel, freed themself then stabbed the doctor.

The doctor must have been able to inject the patient and backed away so that the scalpel was removed, quick thinking of the doctor had led to him trying to put something over the open wound but the location of it caused him to bleed out.

There would be little to no evidence of her left behind on the crime scene thanks to the doctor taking measures to cover her up and to reduce her DNA being spread around for fear that he was discovered by others.

The only things linking her to the crime scene would be the cameras and the eye witnesses that would have caught sight of her.

Once the prisoner had woken up, they would be able to tell their side of the story but it would be difficult for others to believe them right away unless they were quick to analyse the evidence at the crime scene and on the body of the doctor before then.

The prisoner would be kept and imprisoned until those results came back or someone had come to believe in his story.

Either way, whether the prisoner was sentenced for the crime or not did not matter to Azra and his purpose was to buy her time.

Depending on how the case was handled, they would later call for her to be found to confirm her safety and to question her on what she had seen or they would try to bring her in as a suspect.

Either way, there were little options left and Azra had to be prepared to abandon what identity and life she was living.

She had no attachment to the life that had been created for her but she could not go back to her old life either so she had to get away and start again.

The case itself could either become a big thing or would be covered up depending on who would be handling it and how much exposure it had gained to the general public.

There was a slight chance that the mental institution could be investigated once the details of the prisoner were revealed under interrogation along with what others were experiencing inside but Azra did not place her hopes on it happening.

Azra did not trust in the law anymore or the system that was in place that was supposed to be there to protect people like herself when she needed it.

It was just a tool to make people feel safe at home while others used it as they pleased to handle their problems and to make things disappear.

There may have been some good police out there but there were not that many good police that were in power and could make a difference.

Even those people would have no choice to judge her as evil after what she had done and may not completely believe what she had experienced so they would have no choice but to lock her up again.

If her DNA was taken in such a place and her real identity was discovered then that would be the end of her and nobody would be willing to help her once that family knew she was still living.

There was no room for regrets, sympathy or trust in her new life where things would only become more difficult for her.

The computer was left on, the camera was still recording and there were several things laying around so she needed to make use of what time she had to come up with a valid way to escape. 'That could work.'

The computer was quickly accessed by her and a small safe nearby had been unlocked right away.

There was the doctor's bag that could fit on her shoulders and once the code had been put in for the safe, she took out what was inside and started to move them towards the bag.

The doctor not only had his hands dirty within the mental institution with the deeds he was doing but he had been doing side jobs too which allowed him to form connections in the criminal world.

Someone in his line of work always worked carefully and had backup plans in place.

Having a stash of money hidden away in different locations that he had access to were something that he had prepared in case he suddenly had to go on the run and to start a new life from scratch.

There were some fake identity cards and documents inside the safe but Azra had focussed on the money sitting there.

Azra had always been by his side for a long time as his puppet so all it took was a small glance over his shoulder to see what he was typing into the computer or any other places to get his passwords and pin codes.

Some packs of clean scalpels and syringes that the doctor had spare were added to the weight within the bag then she had hit enter on the keyboard.

The printer had printed off several small cards with different instructions on them which were placed in her coat pocket.

The keys to the house and his premium bank card were taken by her along with her guest pass that was placed around her neck.

Azra did one final check over her appearance and placed the bag over her shoulder, unlocked the door and stepped out.

The door was locked behind her and she came across one of the guards patrolling the halls. 'Here goes nothing.'

Hooray for reaching 10 chapters! From now on, there will be a chapter uploaded every 6-9 days depending on how the audiences response is and how much time I have free to write in between my many other ongoing projects. XD
