The more accurate way to describe those who were treating the fighters was that they were more like quack doctors who could not be considered proper doctors.
Perhaps some may have been doing a side job for various reasons like they did not earn enough in their main profession working in a hospital but most others had yet to obtain their license or they had lost it.
Some had basic knowledge and qualifications but still fell short of being able to get the needed qualifications or to get accepted for a proper job in a hospital.
Some may have had the minor qualifications needed but they lacked the experience needed to make the correct judgements.
Others had lost their license due to malpractice or other reasons making them unable to practice medicine anymore so they had to seek out alternative routes to continue to be paid for what they specialized in.
It was better to trust their words to some extent but to not trust them too much.
