NIGHT OF THE FALLING STAR II

"Looks like I get to meet your cousin who convinced you into coming, I guess I'll take that as a bonus" she said as she laughed lightly.

"pretty weird bonus" I replied.

She silently sipped her Coke as she ate some barbecue, when I noticed Grey as he walked through the door which led to the roof.

"Over here" I called out as I waved my hand.

"Looks like it's a double bonus, since you also get to meet my roommate and some friends of my cousin." I said to Katrina as I sat back down after signaling Grey.

"So, you just upped and left your bro all alone in the party" said Grey as he sat down. "At least it was for a good reason" he added as he noticed I had company.

"He didn't leave you for any reason" said Enri as he pulled two more chairs to our table with a mischievous grin on his face.

"I can see that, I have to admit I'm quite surprised" said Grey as he extended his hand towards Katrina. "I'm Grey" he said.

"Katrina" she simply replied.

"Nice to meet you" said Grey as he shook his hands.

"The cousin who convinced him into coming to a party" she said.

"I guess it's true what they say, beauty is the downfall of a man" he said as he laughed "You even told her about me, talk about no sense of camaraderie".

"hahaha, so true" chimed Enri.

"Have you had enough" I asked.

"Nope" said the both of them.

"Hey Susanne, Macy" said Katrina as she interrupted the both of them.

"So, you have been here all this while" said Susanne as she laughed.

"Looks like were in luck" said Macy as she paused "Enri this is the friend I was talking about who disappeared the moment we arrived at the party." She said as she chuckled.

"Wait, so you all know each other?" I asked.

"Yes, meet my friends" Answered Katrina.

"Wow, looks like it truly is a small world" said Macy as she laughed.

Grey took the opportunity to signal the waiter as he ordered something for them to eat before giving me a questioning gaze.

"So, how long have you guys been here?" asked Susanne.

"I'm not sure but maybe over an hour" I answered as I drank.

"I have to commend you, you can disappear without anyone knowing" said Macy as she looked at me.

"Yeah, that reminds when did you even leave" asked Grey.

"Now you care" I said sarcastically.

"What? You're a big boy now so you can disappear without informing anyone" he said as he paused briefly "If you weren't such a good guy I would be worried sick" he said.

"just forget about it, I guess you guys had fun at the party" I said.

"you have no idea what you missed out on" said Enri.

With a simple exchange of words, the conversation kept moving as it changed from one topic to the other, I ended up just observing the whole time as I occasionally monitored the trajectory of the meteorite from my phone.

"I can't believe I'm saying this but I had fun" said Katrina as we walked out of the club.

"Me too" I replied simply.

"I have to say, you do look quite good in blue" she said as she paused right on the sidewalk "give me your phone" she said.

"What?!!" I asked confused.

"Your phone" she said once more.

I gave her my phone, as she took it she dialed her number in and called herself.

"That's my number remember to save it" she said.

"What?" I dumbly said as she walked into the cab.

Their car drove away leaving just me, Grey and Enri standing there.

"I did not see that coming" said Grey as he grabbed me by my shoulders.

"This boy has got moves, moving around all lone wolf and shit" said Enri as he looked at me with a weird gaze.

"At least you have proved it to me that you're not all talk and that you might have had a girlfriend no one knew about" said Grey laughing.

"What" asked Enri.

"Right you don't know but there was once a time he always talks about his girlfriend but the funny thing is we never saw her" said Grey as he smirked.

"That must have been embarrassing" said Enri as he laughed.

"Do you guys want me to learn how to play soccer" I asked in a threatening tone.

"Hell no!!"

"Then stop talking about it" I said as I was interrupted with the constant beeping og my phone.

"Why did you set an alarm" asked Enri.

"It's not an alarm, I set my phone to receive notifications if the meteorite was to divert from its original calculated route when it enters the atmosphere" I said.

"ok"

"So, what does that have to do with us" asked Grey.

"From what I can see it should land not that far away, we could probably get there if we had bikes in ten minutes" I said.

"There's a bike rental shop a block away, I saw it when we were coming" said Enri.

"Perfect let's go check it out" I said.

"No way, I'm too tired" said Grey as he yawned.

"All I want to do now is lie down on my bed and sleep" said Enri in support

"Don't tell me you guys are not interested in seeing a meteorite in front of you" I said puzzled.

"Honestly, I just want to sleep" replied Grey.

"Fine, I'll get you guys a cab before going to the bike rental shop" I said.

"Do you have enough money on you for a cab back to the dorm" Enri asked.

"I think so"

"Here" said Grey as he gave me some extra cash as he waved for a cab for him and Enri.

"Thanks"

"Don't thank me, just come back safe ok?" he said.

"Ok"

As soon as Grey and Enri left in their cab I was on my way to the bike rental shop. I was so happy that the shop was still open even at that time. After I finished working out the details of the rental, I walked outside.

Grabbing the bike, I placed my phone on the holder on it as I opened up the map of the city as I made my way to the calculated crash site of the meteorite.
