A Kieran's Challenge: The Talk

After Nico had made it back to the inside of his bag he made a beeline for his snow bed. Because, you tired? Go to sleep. You got a headache? Go to sleep. You having an existential crisis because you literally don't have a beating heart, yet you are still among the living?.... You guessed it! Go the ever loving fuck to sleep!!

"I hope she was telling the truth, when she said she would bring me back there in my dreams.... 'cause I need answers.... and she's the only one that can give me them... hopefully..."

He said to himself as he laid on the snow bed, and begun to lower the surrounding temperature to help him go to sleep faster. But, the regular drop in temperature didn't seem to help, he was still wide awake.

"The fuck?... I guess I got more used to this temp.... I'll just drop it further..."

And that's exactly what he did, he dropped the surrounding temperature by 5°, but that didn't help either, in fact, he felt like the bag was still at room temperature. So, he lowered it again, and again, and again.... he had to lower it to 0°C/32°F, the temperature where snow begins to fall and ice begins to form for him to actually lower his body temperature enough to help him sleep, when before, it only took him lowering it down to 20°C/68°F to sleep easier.

As he finally succumbed to slumber once again, not out of a lack of energy, but because he needed answers, he left his bag in a state similar to that of a freezer on the highest setting. Soon, after he had fallen asleep, he started to hear something that sounded like a TV playing a show that he was unfamiliar with, and he also felt as if he were sitting on a plush couch.

"So, I see you found out about your heart. How does it feel to not have one, by the way?"

Eve said casually as Nico opened his eyes to see her eating ice cream while watching an anime that showed a short blonde guy fondling the breast of a silver haired blue-eyed woman in a skimpy outfit.

"It feels... concerning?... I don't know.... I just know that I feel sort of normal...."

He leaned back against the couch as he started to watch the anime with her, as he didn't have anything to gain by yelling and freaking out with her.

"Yeah, that sounds about right. So, I take it you want to know why you are literally heartless?"

She questioned as she brought out another tub of ice cream and a spoon, which she handed to him.

"Mhmm.... and if possible, I want to know why I've been changing lately...."

Nico said as he began to eat the ice cream his sister handed him, noting that it was cookie dough, while seeing a giant brunette woman fawn over the short blonde man in the anime, for some reason.

"Well, for why you've been changing... have you ever seen someone smack the shit out of a box TV when it's not working, and then it suddenly starts working? You're basically the box TV, and that tree that you hit at the start of the summer was someone smacking the shit out of you."

Eve said as she put another spoonful of ice cream into her mouth.

"So... something wasn't right with me before, that needed a hit to work?... Is that what you're saying?..."

"Pretty much, yeah. To be honest, before that hit, you reminded me a lot of those shitty harem protag's that I try to be the opposite of. The way I see it, that hit made you a lot more interesting."

"But, that raises another question... what didn't work in me before?..."

Nico questioned as he glanced over at his sister, wondering what could have been wrong with him before?

"You were too tame, too oblivious to your surroundings, too weak to do what was necessary. So, it's good that that hit to the head made you connect more with those instincts, that way you can look at the bigger picture."

She said as the episode of the anime that she had on finally ended, making her finally look at her brother.

"I still don't understand, what instincts did I need to connect with? Does it have something to do with why I've been possessive of the girls, or why I'm so okay with killing now?"

"How can someone who has multiple plans to conquer an entire universe be this stupid?"

Eve shook her head at her brother's somewhat present obliviousness, and questioning how he could be her brother.

"The instincts of the aliens you absorb, duh! XLR8's species hate to lose things, whether it be a race, or something that brings them joy, Upgrade's species has a tendency to look at things from a more logical perspective, Limax's, even if they are gross pieces of shit, look down on other species and only see them as a food source, and finally, Nosedeenian's don't care about what happens, as long as they have fun! That hit to the head made you more likely to follow the most basic instincts of whatever species you absorb, and you combined all those primal instincts to make a new species that is perfect for conquering and destroying their opponents. And this new species you made is also the reason for your lack of a heart, because its already started assimilating with your base DNA."

Nico's eyes widened as he listened to his sister, finally realizing that, in a sense, he was the root of his own concerns, he had been the one to do this to himself when he absorbed the DNA from the Omnitrix. Even if he didn't mutate like Kevin, he's still actively changing because of that watch.

"But, and this is a small one, I don't exactly like how my brother, who's apparently supposed to be the opposite of me, is acting just like my monstrous self."

She had a complicated expression as she brought back out Nico's file, which seemed to be a bit thicker now.

"What? Why am I supposed be your opposite? As far as I've seen we have nothing that really makes us opposites of each other, sure our skin tones and hair color are different, but I don't think that makes us opposites."

"I don't mean our looks make us different from each other, I mean our domains! More specifically, I'm referring to the domain reality chose for you when mom made you her child."

"Wait.... reality chooses our domains?"

Nico was curious as to what requirements were needed for certain domains, or if they were more of a roll of the dice? If its the former, then what would be the best domain for him to strive for, if it even affects his abilities and/or progress.

"It only chooses our first domain, consider it our inborn domain, the one it chose for me is Chaos, which I still don't know if it's a compliment, or an insult towards me."

"And, what's my domain?"

"Life."

"Excuse me?"

He had to make sure that he heard her right, because he doesn't believe that reality would choose that as his inborn domain.

"Your domain, that reality chose for you, is Life, the opposite of my second domain that I gained, Death."

"What? Why would mine be Life?! How does it even choose this shit!?"

The apparent demigod of Life was beyond confused, before he was reincarnated he was just a sick bed bound kid with no hope of getting better, and now he has probably killed more people than he's saved. So, why would his chosen domain be Life?

"It chooses it based off of our personalities, and desires, I don't know anything beyond that. And, honestly, I think yours should've been something involving fertility, or some shit, based off of what you've done to these girls. Like, damn, I'm almost jealous, especially since you didn't have to manipulate them or anything, like me."

"I-... excuse me...?"

Somehow his confusion only grew with his sister's comment that she made while reading his file again, because he didn't really do much to the girls, at least that's what he thinks.

"Seriously, this shit just reinforces my idea that we're all going to be based off of the seven deadly sins! Because, mom is obviously Envy, with how much she desires a family and a purpose, I'm Gluttony because of how much I need to eat to stay sane, and how I'm literally a cannibal now, and you're Lust!"

Nico was further confused by his sister comparing their family to the seven deadly sins, by he ended up getting flustered when she referred to him as Lust, mostly because he has been thinking of the girls in a way that could be considered lustful at times.

"I don't get why you're comparing me to Lust, but I feel like I am going to have a fuck ton of mixed feelings when you inevitably explain it to me...."

He quickly went back to eating his tub of ice cream, which melted a bit during their conversation, to help him calm down his emotions.

"Probably! By the way, I compare you to Lust, because you literally turned those girls into horny simps for you!!"

Eve began to laugh a bit as she continued to go on.

"I mean, seriously! Behind closed doors they have been masturbating to pics of you! Gwen has been writing fanfics about you and her on her computer, which is definitely not SFW! Lucy has been subtly trying to seduce you with every trick in the book, and even tried giving you aphrodisiacs a couple times! And Penn, ohohoh, Penn! She is the horniest of them all! I bet you didn't know she's gone into your room while you slept and masturbated to your sleeping face, and even sucked your morning wood before!"

Her laughter seemed to grow as she went on, while Nico's face only grew redder as he heard what the girls had been doing, he even grabbed his file from Eve's hands to see if what she was saying was true. And, you would think that he just came out of a sauna with how red his face was, and how much steam was coming off of his head.

"Holy shit... how is this all true- seventeen times!? She tried using aphrodisiacs on me seventeen times!!"

His face was as red as a tomato when he read that part, as he was completely unaware that attempted to drug him that many times.

"Pfft- that isn't the best part! Look at when she started doing it!"

Eve continued to laugh her ass off as Nico went to the next page, which had the information she mentioned, with bated breath.

"TEN!? SHE STARTED DOING THAT WHEN I WAS TEN!?!"

"Yup! You're pretty much immune to that shit now, and it's fucking hilarious!"

While she continued to laugh, even beginning to tear up from laughing so hard, Nico's body began to fade, which quickly concerned him.

"WHAT THE FUCK!? WHAT'S HAPPENING TO ME?!"

He yelled out, trying to get the attention of his sister, who fell onto the floor while still laughing her ass off.

"Hahaha, oh fuck my sides hurt, woo. Hehe, chill dude, your body is just waking up, so no need to be a scaredy bitch about it!"

Eve said as she climbed back onto the couch while holding her stomach, which had gotten sore because she hadn't laughed that hard in awhile. While Nico let out a sigh of relief that it was just his body waking up.

"Well, I guess that means I'll have to leave with this new info that has me very confused on what to do when I see the girls again... Though, I guess its good that I have enough time to process it, so that's something."

"Yeah, look on the bright side! Now, go kick a blind mans ass, and get yourself a coffee addicted dog!"

She said as the rest of Nico's body began to fade away, which made him unnable to question what she meant by that, and after a few seconds, the last of his body had disappeared. Leaving his sister to watch anime again, before she had to get back to training with her girlfriends, chosen family, and lightning dog.
