At the hospital the other's did think it could've been a Stand that hurt the baby, but, after realizing that they would've seen it before it could even touch the baby, they had no choice but to leave it at that. But, now the group was going across the Red Sea, by boat, to get one step closer to Dio's location in Egypt. Though, it seems they'll have to make a stop at a certain place.
"Hey, old man, something's off. You're going the wrong direction. If you're heading to Egypt, shouldn't you be traveling directly west?"
Jotaro said, getting the attention of the other two, as Nico didn't really care where they went, he just wanted to get back to reading the passage on Tetramands that he didn't get to finish earlier.
"We seem to be heading toward that island."
"That's right, nice deduction. I've had my reasons for keeping this to myself, but before we arrive in Egypt, we need to make a slight detour. Someone is waiting for us on the island. He's a man who is extremely important to our journey."
Joseph's words seemed to get the undivided attention of Kakyoin and Jotaro, but Nico and Polnareff were just confused about who they were going to meet.
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"Well, Pole Dancer, to me, it sounds like this shit is more of a y'all thing. Since I still don't even know why you guys are on this trip, so as far as I'm concerned, until I'm needed, I'll be in my bag, reading."
Polnareff was furious at the hybrid for calling him pole dancer, but before he could think of an insult to use on him, Nico handed his bag over to Kakyoin, and brought out what looked like a small tub of ice cream.
"Here, consider it my apology for making you hold my bag without asking. Now, if I'm needed for anything, just shake the bag a bit, and I'll freeze whatever idiot tries to cause problems."
Nico said as he handed the ice cream to the red head, before stepping into the messenger bag faster than Kakyoin could process how he was now holding the ice cream in one hand, and the bag in his other.
Inside Nico's bag, he went to one of the bookshelves in it, and grabbed the book he had wanted to read, he then walked over to where he left the snow bed that he decided not to get rid of yet. It turns out, a bed made entirely out of snow was actually more comfortable than you would think.
"Let's see, where did I leave off last?... Right! The part about how they go to war with each other!"
He said as he sat on the bed, and went to the passage that he was on last.
"'At this point I have spent several months as the ambassador of the Plumber's on Khoros, and in that time the ruler of the territory I was in had allowed me to browse their personal library to learn more about their culture. There are so so many things that I learned from that library, but there were two things that caught my eye above all else. The first being their religion, it seems that like many other sapient species, the Tetramand's have their own religion that focuses on a warrior god, that they call 'The Father of Combat', said to defeat every enemy he faces.'"
"Huh, I guess my world's version of the Tetramand's got a religion, it also makes sense that it would be a warrior god of all things. I wonder how they worship him, or if I'll end up meeting this god if he's real?"
Nico spoke to himself as he read through the passage. Since he had knowledge on gods being real now, he wondered if any of the gods in his world were real too. If they were, he'd probably have to fight them, or make a deal with them so they wouldn't get in his way as he would have to exterminate a good couple of species that may worship them.
"'Through my findings I have found that there are no drawings, murals, or statues of this god, strangely enough. Though, they do have a symbol to represent him, and a description of his appearance. The symbol looks like a black sun containing the alchemy symbol for life, and the Galvan peace symbol in the very center. Strangely enough, it seems that this god's symbol actually predates the Galvan peace symbol, so what was its meaning before the Galvan adopted the symbol for peace?'"
"'Anyways, many of the texts I have found describe him as the tallest and strongest Tetramand, even if female Tetramands are traditionally stronger than men, with skin like the gray storm clouds, long hair as black as the night sky, eyes as red as the blood of his enemies, and his symbol laying on his bare chest for all to see. The only thing I find odd about this description though, is the description of his eyes, as there is not a single species on Khoros that has red blood, so where did they get this idea from?'"
Nico looked at this part with confusion as he had some questions about the description of the god's symbol.
"The hell? Shouldn't a warrior god have a symbol of a weapon or something? Also, why do they have a symbol that was made before the Galvan's made it in their god's symbol? Doesn't that go against some space copyright law? Could the Tetramand church sue the entirety of the Galvan's?"
He made sure to make a mental note to check out the galactic law when he gets back home. But, until then, he decided to finish up the passage, since he wanted to get done with it already.
"'The second thing that caught my eye in that library was the information on their marriage customs, and the connection it has with their religion. It seems due to the woman being traditionally stronger than the men, they usually have a fight to see if the man can best the woman, if he can, he will become her chosen husband. Then the bride to be will collects four things before the marriage ceremony, something conquered, something bruised, something severed, and something blue. I haven't been able to find out why the woman need to collect this before the ceremony, other than it being a very old tradition.'"
"'Now, the connection between marriage and their religion. It seems that even though the Tetramand's don't care for exceptions, they will make an exception when it comes to their god, as they view him as the greatest warrior who knows the best path to victory. The reason I mention this is that no regular Tetramand woman is even allowed to challenge him to a fight to try and marry him, only the strongest woman of the Tetramands, that is around the god's physical age at the time, may fight him. It also seems that the strongest female Tetramand will be marked by the same symbol that their god has on her neck at the time of his appearance. Though, he could choose not to marry her if he sees her as not being worthy enough. I don't understand why they have this part in their books, as it seems that their god hasn't made an appearance in over thousands of years, if the stories are to be believed. Though, they do seem to wholeheartedly believe that one day their god will come back and make his presence known to the universe. Which may be why the territories ruler once told me that the Tetramand women devote most of their lives to training for the chance to become the strongest when their god finally returns. I wish I could've gotten to learn more about their religion as I am curious about their practices, but it seems most of their books on it are locked in their churches.'"
Nico closed the book as he finished the passage, a blank stare could be seen on his face as he placed the book next to him on the snow bed. For the next couple of minutes he sat there, not really moving as he was processing what he had just read.
"I don't know whether to feel bad for this god, or think that he's one lucky son of a bitch. I mean, on one hand, he has to probably break the heart of a woman that devoted her entire life to training so she could potentially be with him, but, on the other hand, it seems this version of the Tetramand's respect him above all else. Kinda makes me hope I could get something like that in the future, that kind of respect seems like it would be nice."
As he fell back to lay on his bed so he could continue mulling over his thoughts on his world's version of the Tetramand's, a familiar portal opened up below him, causing him to fall into it before he could even process what was happening.
"WHAT THE FU- oof."
Before he could finish his words, he ended up landing on a couch that he immediately recognized, though he didn't expect to see it at the moment.
"Thank you for getting the portal location right this time Monokuma, now onto business."
Nico's older sister said as he sat up, before immediately hitting him over the head with a frying pan.
"Ow! What the hell, Eve!"
He rubbed his head to help relieve the pain as he looked at his wendigo sister, who looked like she was disappointed for some reason.
"Are you fucking clinically stupid? What made you think it was a good idea to pull that bullshit when you were 'fighting' Death 13? Do you even realize what you've done to your body?"
She shook her head as the frying pan in her hand was made to disappear as if it were never there to begin with, before sitting down on the couch across from Nico.
"I'm going to assume you mean the pet project, rather than me traumatizing a literal child, and to that I have to say, it was the best place to conduct that experiment. I probably wouldn't get another chance like that to ensure I don't hurt someone I love, so I thought it was better to do it there."
"Your ass actually forgot about the Charms of Bezel, you could have taken the luck charm to increase your chances of success when you finished the challenge. And! Your ass isn't on your own anymore, you have a sister that understands what you need to do, and is willing to help you."
As Eve said this she made the TV pull up an image of the Charms of Bezel, seems his file also gave her some information on his world, or maybe she watched Ben 10 in her past life like him.
"I... okay, I may have forgotten the charms were a thing at the time, I'll take full responsibility for being a dumbass on that part. But, I don't get what you mean by 'what I did to my body', didn't I just mix all that DNA to give myself a new form?"
Nico was confused, as he fully believed that what he did wasn't special enough to be worried about. Sure, he basically created a new species by mixing the DNA, and sure he ended up traumatizing a child while he couldn't control his body, but that shouldn't be reason for concern at the moment.
"You didn't just give yourself a new form, because your expirement did succeed, but it also failed at the same time. Yes, you gave yourself a new form, yes, you basically made a new species, and yes, you did evolve all the individual abilities from the other aliens. But! In the process of making a brand new species, you also ended up mixing it with your own DNA, changing your species slightly, meaning that once you complete the challenges you'll end up being a new species all together!"
"And that's a problem why?"
As far as he was concerned, everything Eve was listing seemed like benefit after benefit. Sure, he didn't know that he mixed a bit of his Osmosian DNA to it, and sure he didn't fully understand it yet, but that's fine, as it should make him even stronger than before, right?
"The problem is, my dear brother.... IS THAT YOUR BODY WASN'T READY FOR THAT SHIT!!!"
Eve stood up from her seat in frustration.
"I SWEAR HOW CAN YOU BE THIS OBLIVIOUS!?!? I MEAN SERIOUSLY?! DID YOU THINK YOUR BODY BASICALLY BREAKING AS YOU MADE THAT FORM WAS NORMAL!?!? NO!!! THAT SHIT SHOULD'VE BEEN SMOOTH AND PAINLESS, BUT NO!!! NOW YOU HAVE A FORM THAT'S STILL IN IT'S PRIMAL STATE AND ONLY KNOWS HOW TO FOLLOW ITS INSTINCTS TO BREAK ANYTHING IT SEES AS A POSSIBLE THREAT!!!!!"
She walked around the room as she continued to yell at her brother, she knew he was oblivious to certain shit, like a woman's affection, but she didn't expect him to be oblivious to the consequences of his actions.
"So, its an excitable species that I know can shoot electricity, and it was made with a techno-organic species as its base.... I think I'll call this new species, Neuromachina!"
"ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING TO ME!? YOU MADE SOMETHING YOU CAN'T CONTROL!!"
Eve was getting more and more frustrated with her brother, at this point she was starting to believe he was pissing her off on purpose.
"Oh no, I was listening, and I do understand I can't control it.... for now."
At his words Eve went from pure anger and frustration, straight to confusion and curiousity.
"Explain yourself."
"Well, you said it yourself, my body wasn't ready for it, so I'll just make my body ready."
She looked at him with a blank stare after he responded to her curiousity, now she wasn't sure if he was oblivious, or if he was one of those smart dumbasses that come up with revolutionary shit, but can't figure out the most simple stuff.
"I....I can't even be mad at your dumbass.... just, take this and leave."
The wendigo demigod pulled out a small ball like device with a button and a plus and minus arrow on it, as a portal opened next to her that led back to the inside of his bag, she was already done with this conversation.
"Okay, but what's this?"
Nico said as he got up from the couch and grabbed the device from his sisters hand.
"Gravity sphere.... I based it off the gravity chamber from DBZ, it'll help with your training so you can actually use that 'Neuromachina' form.... now, just leave, I feel like I need a nap after this shit..."
Eve pushed him through the portal as she just wanted to forget this almost pointless conversation and go take a nap, she didn't even bother to make sure that he actually went through the portal.
"Well, that was something."
He said to himself as he walked to his snow bed, where he left his favorite book before he was forcibly taken to his sister.
"Wait... did she only summon me to tell me I fucked up with my choices?"
He didn't know if that's why his sister actually wanted to see him, but at least in the end he got something from her that could make him stronger, even if he didn't understand how this device works at the moment.
Sitting down on the snow bed, he grabbed his book again, as he wanted to read another passage. But, before he could open the book, he felt the bag being shaked from the outside, it seemed they needed him for something. His response to this was to sigh as he wanted to keep reading, but he knew that he still needed to go, so he started heading to the ladder to see what they needed him for.
"Here we go again."
