Behind X and Y

We could never deny the existence of X and Y in our lives, especially at school. Even in the Cartesian Plane, we can see that X and Y intersect at their point of origin. We always question their values and find them in Mathematics. While X and Y could represent other variables in our life, like the negative and positive, it could be the same for people. For instance, a sloth with telepathic abilities (who considers himself the X of his own plane) thinks that having this equally lazy but handsome deskmate, as his (self-proclaimed) pair of Y...was actually not bad at all.
