Becoming a Dungeon Core

There will be mistakes as this is my first time writing. Don't expect great writing or plot, I have no clue what I'm doing Talk - " " Think - [ ] System - ( ) Author thought - [[ ]] Action - * * In a massive world, many times larger than Earth. Is filled with gods, magic, hundreds of intelligent species, dragons, orcs, goblins, and more monsters and beasts. Yet, they all point swords at each other. This world is made up of several massive continents. Most of these continents are on the brink of war or already in war. Yet some continents somehow find peace with each other. But other than that, this world is mostly stable. But that all changes when souls from different times, dimensions, galaxies, and universes, somehow end up in their world, either being summoned to stop some kind of demon king, reincarnated, or transmigrated. These souls change the balance of the world, either for the good or bad, always leaving a mark on history. Though these foreign souls that are not summoned are really rare, maybe 2 come every thousand years, as summoned ones are called by the gods and people during a time of need. But what would happen when a soul comes to this world, with a powerful ability, one that can change the entire balance of the world? Most would expect this type of soul to be a powerful dragon or a newly born god, yet most wouldn't expect the soul to be a small crystal rock the size of a blueberry. This soul will have a tough time growing strong, especially since many more reincarnated, transmigrated, or summoned souls are popping out everywhere. With numerous foreign souls unintentionally traversing through the fissures of space and time into this new world, what prevents foreign entities from following suit? What safeguards are in place to prevent their invasion of the new world?

"MS.LUSA WE'RE UP HERE"

I heard a yell coming from one of the children on top of me. The old woman stopped examining my body and looked up with a big ollll grandmotherly smile, recognizing the voice that called her. She all of sudden disappeared from Alex's vision and reappeared on top of his head, giving out massive hugs to the children.

"My darlings, it's so good to see you all alive. Now let's leave this terrible place and get you all back to the academy." Before Alex could even realize where the old woman went, his view changed. Instead of seeing a dead, quiet, and creepy environment with undead treants getting sucked into a massive tornado, he now saw a lively forest.

Even with seeing an environment that's full of life instead of a dead environment, Alex was still scared as this old woman brought him with the children. He did not know what to do as he knew he couldn't escape so he decided just to go with the flow and listen to the old women and hope for the best.

He decided to look at the environment more closely as the old woman was busy talking to children about what happened to them. The trees in front of him were massive, they had thick trunks and branches. They were as thick as redwood trees but small enough that he could overlook them as a Tall-neck. But when he focused on what was behind him, one thing popped out the most. A tree so thick and tall that it went above the clouds.

He has to look up if he wants to see the rest of it but he currently can't as there are passengers on his head. So he focused at the base of the tree and saw small lights coming from the base. Alex immediately thought that it was a potential city or the academy. But he ruled out the academy option as to his left, he saw a huge building that was surrounded by a huge wall made of unknown materials and a river that surrounded the wall and building, forming a moat. And surrounding the moat, there was a giant city surrounding it.

As he was trying to get a closer look at the area he was teleported to, it suddenly changed again as he was now even closer to the city, and he heard the old lady trying to catch his attention.

"*Coughs* Metal beast, Would you please take us to that building that's in the middle of this city, take us to the bridge that would be right in front of us. Now that I realize it, I have never seen something like you or know your species' name. [Gali Eyes]." Alex reluctantly listened to her orders and started walking to the academy but he did not hear the last sentence she said as she murmured it to herself.

Once the old woman did the [Gali Eyes] spell, she went into deep thought as hardly any information came up, which was weird as her [Gali Eyes] ability is a high-level ability and legendary type ability, and she used [Gali Eyes] on the child that she was hugging and saw her name, level, rank, species, abilities, and passives. The only thing she got out of the [Gali Eyes] from the metal beast was this.

-----[Gali Eyes]-----

Name - ???

Species - Tall-Neck

level - ???

Rank - D

ABILITIES

She started to worry and thought about killing this metal beast as it may be a danger to others in the city but decided against it as this metal beast saved these students and the students could vouch that it's friendly from their travel with it. And it's only a D-rank Beast.

So she decides to keep a close watch on this Tall-Neck and check some bestiary books at the academy library to learn any type of information as out of the 300+ years that she's been alive, she has never seen something like a Tall-Neck. She had seen many metal beasts before made by humans, dwarfs, and other species but the problem was that they were small and never moved smoothly like the metal beast she was standing on.

Another problem with the metal beast is that there are no runes on it. All the metal beasts she had seen had magic runes that made them move and gave them some type of intelligence, but this metal beast had no types of runes anywhere on its body. She can't even detect any ounce of mana from this beast.

As she was thinking about what to do, Alred pulled on her robe and shyly asked "Ms.Lusa, Is it ok if I can study this beast if it's not in the bestiary? I-I-I know it's rude to ask, but I've been studying it closely ever since it helped us."

Lusa just gave him a small smile and pinched both of his cheeks. "Yes, you may study it, but you have to ask first as this beast is very intelligent. Once it says yes, I'll tell others not to disturb you or this beast but if it says no, we must let it be free. And I'm sure you know the rules about studying intelligent creatures."

Alred rubbed his cheeks and thanked Lusa "Thank you Ms.Lusa for allowing me this privilege of studying this beast and yes, I know the rules of studying an intelligent beast."

While this conversation was going on, Alex was listening to what they were saying. He immediately thought that it was a bad idea to be studied, but when he heard the rest of the conversation, he started to think about the pros and cons of staying and studying.

After a bit of thinking, he decided that he would answer yes because 1, most people will leave him alone. 2, he can try to get information from this child named Alred, and 3, The academy may be his safest bet if he wants to grow stronger as long as he is careful with his actions. Which will be a bit hard to do.

He can only sigh and mentally shake his head thinking about the decision.

It was a mostly quiet walk to the academy with some small chatter but several balls made from rocks, dirt, ice, and a purple goo came all around them, mostly aiming at his legs. All of these magic attacks hit one thing. A wind barrier.

Luckily nothing was too serious as Lusa quickly cast a wind barrier around Alex before any of the attacks hit him or the children. Lusa quickly cast another spell that bound the attacker's bodies and realized that they were wearing the academy school uniform. She unbinded them and asked for their school token to figure out who they were and they of course were not hesitant and pulled a yellow token.

Once knowing that they are 'her' students, she says who she is and asks why they attack them. The students immediately paled and asked for forgiveness while slamming their heads on the floor. They all explained that they thought I was some kind of rare beast and wanted my beast core and body parts to get school points. But they didn't take into account that someone was riding it and owned it. So she just lets them go and decides to punish them later.

While the interaction went on, Alex used [Thermal Vision] to check his surroundings to make sure there was no one else but spotted someone hiding in a bush near him, with their left arm fully extended out and their right arm being pulled back. It took him a couple of seconds to realize what the person was doing.

Alex immediately gathers as much mana as he can and casts [Wind Cutter]. Hoping that he can cast it fast enough before the person releases their arrow. But Alas, it was too late, an arrow with a bright glowing green tip shot through the air and pierced his neck. Piercing straight through him and two other unfortunate trees.

The force of the arrow knocked him off balance, Alex tried to balance himself but gave up on it and decided to focus on catching the falling children. He only caught 2 children before several green tendrils caught the children and slowly brought them to the caster, Lusa.

As Alex was about to get off of his side, several more arrows came from the same bush and somehow hit a vital point because everything quickly turned black. Soon everything was bright again and Alex realized that he was still in the same place he just died in and that he was back to being a small rock.

(<DING > Tall-Neck has been killed. (7/7) day left till revive.)

[FUCK] Alex was pissed off as someone just killed his Tall-Neck and he has to wait a week to get it back.

Lusa and the kids' faces paled on what just happened, some of the younger ones cried as they started to get attached to the nice metal beast while the older ones were startled and angry. Lusa's face immediately turned red and harshly bound the person that killed her children's savior.

The person that was bound had a cloak that covered their entire body and hid their face well. Lusa appeared to teleport right in front of the cloaked person and pulled down their hood. Alex died in a place that allowed him to see the cloaked person.

It was an elven boy with bright green hair, a smooth silky face, a silverish wooden crown on his head, and a smirk on his face. For some reason, Alex really wanted to wipe that smirk off the boy's face.

Lusa's face turned even redder but she slowly breathed in air to calm herself down and unbound the boy.

"May I ask why the second prince is here?" Lusa said, in a commanding and annoyed tone.

"My... My... My... Do you not know that I have been accepted to the prestigious Sapore Academy? I mean, aren't you the head of the wind division." The second prince said this with a 'surprised' tone.

Lusa knew the boy was mocking her but she couldn't do anything to the boy as it could cause the already strained and tense tension between Sapore Academy and the royals to worsen, hell a war is highly likely to happen between them, the only thing she can do is grit her teeth in anger.

"Now if you don't mind. I shall collect my reward." The second prince seemed very happy in this interaction. As I look at him as he walks closer to me, I see disgust on his face.

"Wow, with something of this size, you would have thought its magic core would be big. Ew, even its mana purity is just terrible " I heard him whisper this part as he picked me up. I was actually glad that he said this, as I hoped that he would just throw me away or give me back to Lusa or one of the kids.
