-Asher Frostblade's point of view.
Everything had happened so fast in that moment that Asher ended up closing his eyes.
During the two days he had been in the medical section, his mind had stabilized.
He opened his eyes, and the first thing he looked at was the same ceiling as before.
It was the ceiling of the medical section, and on both sides there were curtains for privacy.
He looked around and noticed that this time he was alone. So, he straightened up and sat on the bed as he sighed bitterly.
"Shit."
A single word and a single thought.
He kept recalling the memories he saw.
Although they were supposed to be fake, they were in fact almost identical. However, the conversation his parents had was different from how Asher remembered it.
Therefore, he made sure to forget all that and tried to remain calm, even though his mind was weakening even more.
At this rate he no longer had a year left.
Rather, he has a few months left before his mentality is completely exhausted.
For the moment, however, he worried more about those memories than anything else.
He looked down at his hands as they trembled.
The emotions, the feeling and everything else were as if they were real.
It was a very unpleasant feeling that Asher didn't want to remember again.
"Looks like I scored 0 points."
He remembered Oriana's words just before he completely lost consciousness.
At the time, he was listening to the murmurs, but they were so low that he almost didn't hear them. Oriana's words did, however.
"Well, they were the expected results."
Indeed, they were.
But even though he experienced those memories, they were the cause of not even being able to continue with the evaluation.
"..."
Asher looked at a table beside him.
On it, there was simply a clock.
However, Asher recognized that type of watch.
"It's a smart watch, why does something like that exist in this world?"
He grabbed it and pressed a button.
At that instant, information about him was revealed on the small screen of the watch.
It was just like a smartwatch from his previous world, with similar technology. However, it had different functions.
Most of it was information about him.
But.
"500 credit points."
Asher then read all of his "information" that the watch contained.
--Information--
-Cadet's name: Asher Frostblade.
-Age: ???
-Date of birth: ???
-Height/weight: 1.69 m/ 97 kg.
-Credit points: 500
-Date/Time/Month: 7:13 A.M/ Tuesday/ February 15.
-Imperial Year: 2690.
"Mmm..."
Asher finished reading the information the clock contained.
Although it had more data, it wasn't important. However, his gaze was fixed on two characters.
"Age and my date of birth..."
He asked himself over and over again.
However, he remembered the words the mysterious woman had said to him five days before.
He looked at the "settings" part of the watch and adjusted the date of his birth and age.
All this he knew from the mystery woman's words.
Previously, Asher did not know exactly his age. However, now that he knew his age, he knew when his date of birth had been.
Again he looked at his personal information, now with his date of birth and age.
-Age: 12 years old.
-Birth date: 2678/February/10.
Finally, he had seen her age and, practically, her entire basic childhood.
At first he never knew his basic information, such as his age and other details. However, now, looking at the smart watch, he had all of his personal information complete.
Asher then let out a sigh.
He had his information, and that was more than enough to relieve his stress right now.
He felt more relaxed, but soon got out of bed and looked around.
"It's empty."
After standing for a few minutes in the medical section, he looked at the time.
"It's 7 a.m., that means all the cadets must be in class."
That was to be expected.
Looking at the day, he knew immediately that he had been unconscious for two whole days.
However, he left the medical section immediately and returned to his room.
After walking around the campus, he finally arrived at his room, opened the door, went inside, tidied himself up and, after an hour, finished all his homework.
He left his room, walked down the building, walked across campus, and returned to the academy. However, instead of going to class one, Asher decided to go to the disciplinary committee room.
It was not a good time to be in class right now.
Although it was true that maybe they were teaching different things than what they initially started with, still, this time Asher wasn't as animated.
"Haa..."
He took a deep breath and let the air out as he leaned back in his seat behind his desk.
His gaze was fixed on the entire disciplinary committee room and then....
"I need a coffee."
Clank.
He quickly left the room and made his way to the nearest coffee shop.
After ordering the coffee, he sat down and looked around as he took a sip.
"So this is what days are like when everyone is busy."
He was curious.
Normally he would be in the middle of some explanation about some spell the professor was demonstrating.
But he never knew what it was like to be outside at these hours and on a day when he was supposed to be in class.
However, this made Asher more excited.
"I'm not locked in."
Being outside was like being free of everything.
The fresh air and everything else, while all around him was no one.... It was relaxing and soothing.
No interruptions or cadets talking too loudly around him.
"Huam..."
He let out a yawn as he relaxed his back more, which was currently feeling very tired.
Asher then looked at some passing cadets.
But...
"Your mana is very strong."
They weren't first-years or sophomores.
They were cadets who would probably be fourth years.
Asher looked at the wrist of one of those cadets.
"He has five circles."
A fifth-circle wizard.
That meant he was at least a fourth or, if not, a fifth year.
Why were they at this hour, though? They were supposed to be in their respective classes, but they were wandering around.
"This is the first time I've seen them."
In fact, from the very beginning, neither Asher nor the others had seen cadets from higher years, except for the second-years, who used to fight from time to time in the combat section.
If you go every day, you can see second-year cadets fight.
Asher was watching them for a while, though.
"It wasn't impressive."
He had seen enemies, people and monsters much stronger than the second year cadets.
They were barely from the second and some from the third circle. The cadets were strong enough, but they no longer impressed anyone.
Their strengths were easy to see anytime, anywhere.
"I guess they're not impressive, but a fifth circle cadet..."
Asher then thought about it.
How strong would that fifth year cadet be; he was a fifth circle mage and therefore very strong.
With Asher's current strength, it was impossible for him to even come close to a fifth circle mage.
They were as strong as they were also difficult to deal with; it was impossible to defeat one of them currently. However, they were not invincible.
"He wouldn't stand a chance though."
It would be a losing fight.
One he wouldn't come out of unscathed if he tried.
But...
"It would be exciting."
Fighting someone strong was better than fighting someone weak.
It wasn't fun at all to fight someone weaker, but that couldn't be said for someone much stronger.
If it's a fifth circle mage, even though Asher wouldn't have a chance of getting close, it was more than enough to try.
Seeing the capabilities and abilities of those mages would be incredible to witness.
Despite that, the academy does not allow third through fifth years to have combat with first and second year cadets. It was obvious the clear difference in power and experience between these cadets.
"Haa..."
He sighed and stopped thinking about useless things as he finished his coffee.
***
-Scene change.
-Julian Reinhard's point of view.
Julian watched the professor.
Although for the moment the magic classes were the same, after all, it was the first class of the day, there was nothing important.
That, and because the class dealt only with spells, how to use them and the like.
Nothing interesting at the moment or anything that was different.
However, Julian had a thought as he looked at the clock that the professors had recently handed out to all the first year cadets.
-Credit points: 500.
Each cadet earned a total of 500 credit points.
According to some calculations Julian did....
He would only be able to live on his daily needs for one month; after that, his credit points would be completely depleted.
If that happens, then he would enter a dungeon.
Entering a dungeon is now possible; once you receive the credit points, you have the permission to enter the dungeons that the academy manages.
Once you show the information contained in the watch, it's like the pass to enter the dungeons.
"It's exciting, but also not."
It was a combination of happiness to enter a dungeon for the first time, but also a great fear of getting seriously injured.
Of course, although the dungeons are controlled, it does not mean that you are completely safe. Therefore, at first, first-year cadets only have access to grade 9 dungeons.
"Safety is the highest priority."
For such reasons, they could only enter dungeons of the lowest grade.
Julian, in fact, doesn't mind.
It's not like he wants to enter a dungeon of a higher grade.
However, at some point he will enter even a grade 1 dungeon. At least once in every mage's life, they enter these grade 1 dungeons. They come out alive, but badly wounded as well.
To Julian, it was a mystery what exactly was in these high grade dungeons, like the grade 1 dungeons.
"Asher should wake up any minute today, right?"
Julian looked at Grey, who suddenly spoke.
"That's right."
"The healers said any time today, so it's also possible he's already woken up."
Even if it was true, they still didn't know.
That because they were in the middle of a class while the professor was explaining the creation of spells.
"We should go see him when it's free time," Emilia suggested, as the others looked at her.
Julian agreed wholeheartedly.
"Yes," they all answered at the same time, except Gloriana.
Julian, who was at her side this time, looked at her a little curiously.
"You seem to be the most worried," Julian noticed as he saw her thoughtful face and her blank stare, not paying attention to the others.
She was completely immersed in her thoughts.
Despite that, Julian did not interrupt her.
She was the most worried.
The others had noticed it too, but they decided not to talk much about it and went about their business, while Julian, from time to time, watched her.
However, their gazes met.
"Is something wrong, Julian?" asked Gloriana, looking at him curiously. However, Julian only smiled and said:
"No."
He looked away.
He looked to the side, where Emilia was standing next to Luna.
"I feel strange," he thought.
He wasn't just any stranger, but a stranger for whom his heart pounded when he looked at Emilia.
Her purple hair and eyes of the same color made her attractive, and for some reason, caused Julian's heart to pound.
Despite that, Julian thought about it for a while and came to a conclusion.
"I like her," he admitted, and he didn't deny it in the least.
He was too attracted to Emilia. However, every time he looked at her, he tried to think of something else, trying not to get too distracted by her.
Despite that, it was difficult.
"Very well, cadets, you must now put into practice the spells I showed you," the professor said.
And yet...
"What spells?"
Julian had been distracted all this time, not even paying attention to the professor's explanations.
Really, his day was going rather badly....
