I continued to look around the room frantically, knowing that I was wasting my time, but still not willing to give up.
"Baby," murmured Paul, his soothing voice cutting through the panic in my head. "It is fine. Go, save yourself. Do you really think I can live if I get free by you are hurt in some way?"
"Right back at you," I hissed. I was about to ream him out, telling him that martyrdom wasn't a good look on him, when the door to the cell opened.
Bolting forward, I moved to stand between Paul and the newest threat at the door.
Only there was none.
"Huh," grunted the shifter who had helped me and Scarlet before. "I didn't know we had a wolf here."
"Mmmm," I hummed, my body relaxing. "I'm pretty sure that no one knew he was here. And spilling secrets."
The guard nodded his head. "I guess that now makes sense, why so many shifters were outed on the same day. He told the higher ups."
