CHAPTER 16
He looked at me for a second before he started getting food, then served it to me.
“Thanks.” Then, I started eating. My smile became big after I tasted the food. It was so delicious! I nodded and pointed to Paella. “This is so good!” I said to him, he was just looking at me. Amusement was evident on his face.
“And this is what it will look and feel like every time we eat together.” He said that made me stare at him. Then, he slightly shook his head and began getting food for himself.
“You…eat alone?” I asked.
“Most of the time,” he answered. For a moment, I felt sad because of that. The food is much tastier when you have someone to eat with.
“But I think I will not eat alone anymore.” He continued before giving me a glass of juice and smiled slightly. I only stared at him. He looked calm and at peace in front of me. Like he is okay to be like this because he is in a safe place…with me.
