Chapter 1The end of Humanity

Dark grey clouds hung in the horizons accompanied by the blood-red skies. The bright yellow sun seemed to be giving the last of its warmth as it disappeared in the horizon, feeling defeated Qiu Feng sat on a pile of rusting cars whose colours had faded throughout the years.

After smoking the last of his cigarettes Qiu Feng lay on a car defeated. Around him lay the ruins of an unknown city, it had been far too long since the fall of what was once called civilization as what lay around him could only be called a wasteland.

It had been 15 whole years since the start of the apocalypse had started, he had travelled through nearly the entire world struggling to survive for the past 10 years of the apocalypse after the fall of the last human shelter in this fallen world.

He sat on the pile of cars accompanied by the hoarse growls that came from below from the horrible creatures which were known as zombies.

Qiu Feng took a swig of his alcohol reminiscing about the past, he let out a sigh as he saw the sight below him the streets that were once full of people and cars, the stores fully stocked with supplies were now empty, faded into the past. He wondered how things had become like this the once prosperous city filled with tall buildings had now become a wasteland.

15 years ago he had been known as a university prodigy who had been who obtained several degrees in several sciences such as the fields of biology, chemistry and physics. he had learning about many things in biology such as the life of plants and animals, how the world worked and the composition and structure of many objects. He was a genius who would have reached the peak of his life and revolutionized the world.

However one day, his peaceful life had been completely overturned by the arrival of those damn objects. One day there had been a shower of bright red meteors that had suddenly fallen into the world. Accompanied with the fall of these damn meteors was a myriad of different changes to the world.

The fall of the meteorites throughout the world had carried with them something akin to a virus that had infected the entire world causing a sudden change in all the natural laws that governed the world ushering in the start of the great apocalypse.

The virus had destroyed humanity.

Those that were unable to adapt to the sudden exposure of the virus had transformed into a mindless creature that could only be described as zombies: that roamed the world with a desire to kill and hunt all those that could be described as living.

As he sat on cars that he stacked 6 meters above the ground he reminisced about the past as the horde of infected zombies started climbing towards him.

"Damn it" he screamed, had he survived all those bitter years with a hunger for life, aimlessly staggering on the brink of life and death, struggling like a ragged dog, gasping, to the extent where he wondered whether or not .

He still had countless regrets he had left unfulfilled; the truth of the apocalypse, his failure in protecting all those he had cared for and all the promises to the deceased.

Perhaps, death would be a release for him. He would finally be released from this damned apocalypse

"Everyone I'll be joining you soon" he thought as he was being surrounded and engulfed by the various zombies around him. He attacked as he used the last of his strength before being engulfed by the darkness
