“Gavin, you missed Ryder. I think he went to the gym.”
He grinned as if that’s exactly what he wanted to hear.
“Actually, I wanted to have a word with you.”
I moved the door so that it was in between Gavin and I. I looked around it ready to shut it at any moment. My instincts were telling me to run, and I don’t know why.
“If you want to speak to me, Gavin, you will need to do so while my mate is present. Otherwise, I don’t think it is appropriate for us to be alone together. I’m sure you understand.”
