Cecil's expression softened.
"Vince, please, listen to me," she pleaded as she reached out to him.
But Alpha Vincent shrugged back, appalled at the thought that his chosen mate had asked his daughter to deny their father-daughter bond. She, of all wolves, knew how important family was to him.
It almost felt like a betrayal.
"Cecil, why are you doing this?" He asked her carefully.
"I…," she didn't quite know how to explain herself.
As Vincent's chosen mate, she had always been compared to his fated mate. Though the pack had never met her before, she knew all too well how Vincent thought of her fondly.
Sometimes, he would even whisper Anna's name in his sleep. She loved Vincent, she could not imagine a life without him and she wanted to be the one to give him a legacy.
That's why she wanted Wendell to be his heir.
"I'm just worried that since you have your daughter, you'll forget about your son… you'll forget about me," she murmured.
