Days passed with Jidenna lying on the hospital bed, gazing blankly at the white ceiling.
Everything in his room was white, and sometimes Jidenna thought that time had suspended, if not for the beeping of the machine he was hooked up to and the muffled murmurs of people and the television mounted in the corridor.
The only thing left to accompany his wandering thoughts was the EMP machine.
That's why he couldn't be happier when he was discharged.
Jidenna silently swore to himself that he would never go back there again. It was simply a horrible experience.
According to his doctor, his clothes could not be saved, but Jidenna, on the other hand, was adamant about not wearing the blue patient gown back to his dorm room.
After some brief tug of words, Doctor Lu gave in and retreated. When he came back, he had a bundle of clean clothes neatly folded in his grasp.
