chapter 6: meeting amber the outrider. (update/Aden)

1:30 pm. (hours after my encounter with paimon and her friend. the traveler.)

Teyvat. (outside the city of Mondstadt also known as the city of freedom).

'Fuck my hand hurts.' I said as we were walking through the woods, 'well I warned you didn't i.' Paimon added as she looked at me, 'Yeah yeah.' I responded as we were on our way to the city of Mondstadt.

So just after we started seeing what looked like a blue dragon who 'the traveler' had just scared off. and found a red-like crystal stone thing in this world, which led to my hand getting burnt because of my stupid curiosity. we continued onward to where we were going in this world as I looked at the map.

Aden: 'ok you two. the next area should be up ahead' I informed both of them.

and just as we were continuing onwards to our next destination. a voice had stopped us in our tracks.

???: "Hey you stop right there," a voice said as we were caught off guard and looked at where it came from.

looking around I tried to see who it was that was calling to us and telling us to stop while we were in the area. that is when a girl appeared out of nowhere jumping off the hill and rolling onto the grass and landing on her feet perfectly in front of our eyes as she turned and looked at us while walking forward.

my brain: "Wow she looks so beautiful and sex- NO NO GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF THERE." my conscience said as I was pushing away the dirty thoughts in the back of my mind.

???: "May the anemo god protect you two, strangers!" she said while in a salute which made me nod in return. "I am Amber, Outrider for the knights of Favonius," she said as she introduced herself to the 3 of us while we were outside of the city, smiling at what I wanted to respond with, I started to walk towards her with a not suspicious happy looking smile on my face and start with the rest of the introductions in that order.

Aden: "Nice to meet you, Amber. my name is Aden this is paimon and her friend. the traveler named Aether." I finished as she nodded at the 3 of us and continued with what she was going to say, 'Well you 3 don't look like citizens of Mondstadt, so please Explain yourselves!' she said as she started to question us while we were LITERALLY out of the woods.

Paimon: We're not looking for trouble. she explained as she was reasoning with Amber the outrider who wanted the information she needed before responding with the words, 'That's what all the troublemakers say, plus the names Aether and Aden don't sound like local names to me.' she examined as she knew that the 3 of us were outsiders who looked like we had just escaped the safe house's basement screaming for some random folk to come and help us get away from a violent monster.

Amber: 'And this... mascot, what's the deal with it?' she questioned while looking at paimon as the both of us knew the one answer to the question which was to paimon's disapproval when she looked at the both of us,

Paimon: 'Hey! that's even worse than being a mascot!' she complained as I started to smirk about it during the questioning that Amber the outrider was doing, 'so to sum it up, you're traveling partners right?' she asked wanting confirmation from one of us as I nodded.

Amber: 'ok well... look, there's been a large dragon sighted around Mondstadt recently. Best you get inside the city as soon as possible. It's not far from here, I'll escort you there.' she asked informing us about the situation that is going on since both I and Aether nodded while paimon started to ask the question that raised my suspicion.

Paimon: 'Oh? And aren't you out here for some other reason?' she questioned as both I and Aether looked at her in both question and suspicion, 'I am but not to worry,' she asked. 'I can keep you 3 safe while doing that too. Besides... I'm still not sure if I can trust you three just yet.' she smiled with the company of safety as she said that before returning to her suspicion which caused Aether to respond.

aether: 'Why so suspicious? I mean that's a rather rude way to speak to guests.' he asked as I nodded looking at Amber who looked at us in embarrassment with her face red as if she was caught trying to do something stupid.

amber: 'Oh, ahh... I'm sorry. Probably not something I should say as a knight.' she said as she looked at us still in embarrassment with her face still red from aethers comment. 'I give you my apologies, uh... strange yet... respectable travelers.' she said as she was trying not to make it sound fake until Paimon spoke.

'that sounded so fake!' asked Paimon who was not buying into it as I looked at her and Paimon before nodding at the comment which was much to Amber's disapproval, 'Do you two have something against the type of language usage prescribed by the knights of Favonius handbook!?'' she questioned both me and paimon while looking at the both of us.

MINS LATER...

'Okay, we are all set Amber,' I asked as I was setting up the targets for Amber to shoot with her bow and arrow, 'Thanks, Aden!' she said as she smiled at me as I nodded at her and watched her go to work on the targets that I had just placed in front of her.

'So, suspicious travelers, what are you three doing in Mondstadt?' Amber questioned as Paimon gave her an answer to the question she wanted in the style of a story recap while we were en route to Mondstadt, 'Aether got separated from his sister during a really, really long journey, so both I and Aden are his travel buddies, helping him to find his sister.' paimon finished as amber was now shocked just hearing about this.

'Oh, looking for your family... Huh.' Amber the outrider asked as Aether nodded to the response she gave him, 'Sorry, what were we saying?' paimon asked confused as she looked at the 3 of us as amber processed everything, 'Ah... Okay! Let me finish my other stuff first, and then I can help you put up posters around the city...' she asked as Aether nodded in response to the comment.

'Hey, can I help too?' I asked looking at Amber who smiled and nodded since I wanted to get involved in this, 'Anyway... What exactly is it you need to finish doing first?' paimon asked Amber wanting an answer from her,

'It's simple. You'll understand in a bit.' she explained to us as she was leading us to the area where that said other stuff was, 'Ah a hilichurl!' alerted Paimon as she saw the creature appear from the red puff of smoke, 'the hell is that thing playing at.' i asked as aether had no clue.

'Quick! Get it!' Amber asked as the two of us nodded and ran towards it while she was busy activating a checkpoint, as we had caught up to the hilichurl who was moving away from us, aether lunged at the creature and proceeded to stab it in the back as his sword came out of the creature's chest in bloody fashion,

'TARGET ELIMINATED,' I yelled as I looked at Amber who nodded at me before she went ahead and started explaining why the hilichurl monsters were in the area. 'These monsters have been getting too close to the city recently. And my task this time is to clear out their camp.' she said as we arrived at the area where the camp was located.

"Here Aden, use this, it should come in handy." Amber asked as she handed me a knife, 'thanks.' I said with a smile on my face as I was now armed with a weapon and ready to kill some hilichurl monsters.
