A Group Chat?

Tokyo, Japan,

Hayes Residence,

Samuel POV,

It was now morning, the night had passed and the Sun was slowly rising. It's warm rays spreading light over the city, some people did their jobs, others had started waking up in order to go to work while some who hadn't slept at all were now contemplating whether to stay awake further or simply go to sleep now.

Samuel.... was woken up because he forgot to close the curtains and had the sun rays fall directly onto his face, this resulted in him waking up disturbed and he was now rubbing his eyes trying to get rid of the weird feeling. He slightly chuckled at his misfortune and looked around at his room with slight joy in his eyes, it was... good to be back.

He had no phone on him and as such no way of checking what time it was then but suddenly remembering something he walked over to his wardrobe, opening it he shuffled around searching for something among clothes that were now far too small for his body. A few minutes of searching and slightly despairing later, he found a small pink box and smiled at it.

Picking it up with care he walked over to the chair lying beside the table and opened it, inside lay a fairly unique watch with silver designs on it. It had long stopped working so time was unintelligible but it was the object itself that held significant importance to him as a person.

It was given by one of the few friends he had as a child after all. Being a grown ass man, he couldn't associate with the children at school or anywhere else for that matter which led to him mostly being an outcast. This 'watch' was given to him by Amou just as he was sentenced to prison and he had given it to his parents for safekeeping, something to remember her by apparently.

It was slightly out of character for her to give something like a present but it was also understandable, she was a child then after all... even if a strange and silent one, they had for a fact, been together for several years while he was training. Picking the watch up, he put it on and moved his hand around a bit looking at it, "Pretty good." he commented, it had been a bit too big then but now it was a perfect fit.

He turned towards the laptop lying on the table and pressed the power button, expecting it to not turn on after remaining like this for so long but much to his surprise, it turned on ... faster than he thought it would actually.

He curiously looked towards the battery icon to see that it had a question mark on it, confusing him. On the desktop, there was a strange application present. What was even more strange was that he had a habit of keeping the desktop neat and ordered so it wasn't supposed to be there... at all.

Did someone use this thing while he was away?

"Unlikely." he commented, there was a password on it, one that only he knew so there was no way anyone could have accessed it. That or someone figured it out... but that wasn't probable, the password was an erratic series of numbers that none except him knew.

He double clicked it, seeing no problem in checking out what it was and a moment later, a strange application opened up. It was a simple window, a black background and a bar which was slightly blinking, indicating that something was to be written there. Beside it was a list with 'members' written on it in bold and so far, it only said, "Gigolo Bastard" on it with a picture of him. The name and the picture was somewhat highlighted, perhaps indicating that he was on.

Samuel looked at the nickname he had been given and quickly tapped it, opening a name change window through which he changed it to Samuel Hayes with twitching lips, he was still a virgin!.... At least in this new life of his. "Some kind of social media platform?" he commented looking at it as he rubbed his chin in thought, if it wasn't so simple he'd have thought it was one of those group chats you usually see.

A few seconds passed like that with no change happening on it and just as Samuel was about to leave to go about his day, he heard a small ring and looked back to see that a new window had appeared out of nowhere. This one had an explanation written on it and reading it made Samuel deadpan.... it sounded like a scam.

It was the usual group chat one would see in fiction novels but at the same time different, it had no shop or similar functions and at the moment, there were no other members as well. It told him to find members himself instead, "Did I run...out of luck?" Samuel mumbled to himself, to say he bought it would be wrong since he still somewhat doubted the thing's credibility but then again, he had reincarnated in this world so he kind of expected something like this to happen eventually.

Aside from that, it told him that he could get tickets for missions completed and use said tickets in a gacha, he could get literally anything from it according to this thing and to prove it's credibility he apparently had been given a ticket already which he could use at any time. With time, he'd be assigned missions in separate worlds and to make sure it wasn't too detrimental to himself, time in his own world would be paused for the duration of these missions.

One liberty he was allowed was that he himself could choose the members as he wanted and was the only one who could, he was this thing's 'owner' now and it's creator had made sure it was fully autonomous as well so there would be no problems in it's working.

This was good and all.....but, "Why?" Samuel wondered out loud looking at the school, why had he been made the owner of this thing and just why had it appeared now of all times? After all, it could have appeared earlier or later?

"This is confusing." he said with a small relaxed smile on his face, the thing was, he didn't really care about that. This was sure to be entertaining and that was just about all he wanted from it, on top of that, it gave him an opportunity to travel to worlds of fiction and who was he to deny such a thing?

He was too done with everything to contemplate any ulterior motives it's owner might have, it was naive and he understood that, but that was just how he was, nothing to it.
