A song of Saiyans and multiverses

Jason Mackenzie was a normal young man. He went to school, had friends, dreams, and aspirations. Despite this, he felt as though he wanted more from life, like fighting dragons and casting magic, or going Super Saiyan. He knew however that this was just fantasy and he needed to move along with real life. If only he knew what he was getting himself into.

It was around 3 when I was walking back from school. I was walking down the sidewalk minding my own business, listening to my music when I heard a commotion coming from around the corner of the block. Intrigued, I walked forward at a leisurely pace. I saw a huge crowd of people forming around the busy street. As I made it to the edge of the crowd I heard the shouts and cries of the people from the crowd.

"Move out the way!"

"Look out!"

It was a lot of these types of shouts that permeated the area. As I was looking over the shoulder of one of the guys that formed the crowd I was suddenly warped out into the middle of the street. I looked around me confused and panicked when I heard the sound of a vehicle on the street barreling toward me. I looked back to see a pickup truck about to run me over.

Using fitness and energy I didn't even know I had, I used every bit of my physical strength to run out of the way. I barely dodged the truck in time and watched as it crashed into the front of the local bodega. Understandably freaked out and scared, I ran past the stunned crowd and ran home as fast as I could.

Around a mile from my home, I was panting and sweating my ass off as I walked the rest of the way home. As I was walking and shaking off my fear I heard the sound of shrieking tires on the pavement. I whirled my head around and saw a red car about to run into me.

Using a trick I saw in a youtube video I was able to half-successfully roll over the top of the hood, windshield, roof, and trunk before landing behind the car as it crashed through the fence of a construction site. Right Into a stack of propane and gas tanks next to electrical equipment.

'What is with today,' I thought angrily as I ran away as fast as my tired body would allow before the truck and propane would inevitably explode. I was half a mile from my home before a large explosion happened in the short distance. I was standing around looking at the fire and trying to rest when I saw a shadow over me. I looked up to see a wrecking ball coming straight for my face.

'Sweet baby Jesus. Why me?', I thought as I rolled away narrowly missing my gruesome death.

"I just want this to be over", I said aloud in frustration. I was so done with this shit. I was just a hundred feet from my home when I noticed an even larger shadow coming from above.

"A FUCKING SATELITE, REALLY" I cried out. I knew I couldn't dodge this, only minimize the damage. As I was in the process of doing just that it crashed.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH, FUCK!!", I screamed out in white-hot rage and agony. My legs were crushed and I could barely move because of the pain. It can't end like this! I need to survive! I WILL SURVIVE! I tried crawling out but my legs were stuck.

"S-sorry l-legs, been' nice knowing ya!" I said.

'I could always get prosthetics!' I rationalized in my mind as I came to terms with the fact that my legs couldn't be saved and that I need to survive and escape the wreckage. But before I could even attempt to leave I saw and smelled the gasoline leaking out. One minute, nothing happened. Two minutes, still nothing. Three minutes, Nothing again.

"Hoh, t-thank god, no fire", I sigh in relief. As the words left my mouth I saw some sparks come off some random part of the satellite and ignite the gasoline. "ALL OF MY HATE," I shouted in fury as the fire spread and resulted in a massive fiery explosion.

I snapped awake, alert, and monitoring my surroundings. "Man, where am I?" I said aloud. I appeared to be in some sort of blank, white void.

"Hello there," a voice called out to me. I turned around and saw some sort of humanoid creature. It was made of some sort of inky black substance and had what appeared to be stars, galaxies, and nebulas within its confines. It had no mouth, ears, or nose but it did have glowing white eyes.

"W-what, uh who the fuck are you," I said warily.

"C'mon Jason you know who I am," it said nonchalantly, then suddenly for a split second it glowed gold in power and I saw everything at once, what will be, and what has been, I saw dream, eternity, destiny, death i-it was too much.

"Hnggh" I grunted in pain as my head felt like it was gonna pop. As soon as it started it stopped. "W-what was that" I called out weakly.

"I temporarily gave you my omniscience," he said, I looked at him astonished "I will get straight to the point" he continued, "you, Jack, have passed the test"

"So, all that was a test?" I asked in confusion.

"Yes, indeed," he said," I am fascinated with mortals and their potential so I administer a test to people who have a lot of potential and desire for something greater, most people fail at the truck part but still get sent to other worlds with wishes by other deities or an overlord or something," He continued," but you, your different you have been the first mortal ever to have actually gotten past the first part and even completed it." I was dumbfounded.

"So all those stories on the internet about people getting 'truck-kuned' are all real?" I questioned.

"Yes indeed, you have amazing potential and hidden power, but you are limited by the world you were born into, if you still have the desire I will awaken them and fulfill your wish to travel the realities," he said. On the inside, I was ecstatic and jumping for joy. The opportunity here was immense but then I had a sudden thought.

"What about my mom, or my sibling, or my friends, are they okay?" I asked concerned and worried, wouldn't they be devastated? That crash was also right next to my house!

"Oh Jason, ever the pure soul." he said," that's another thing I like about you many other reincarnators or transmigrators or whatever almost immediately forget about family or lack compassion."

"That doesn't answer my question," I said.

"They are fine, all destined to live long full lives although a few will be depressed for a few years, they will eventually move on."

"Okay then what about my supposed potential and powers," I asked curiously.

"You are what is known as an unbound soul, most people born in a universe are bound to the Overlord of that universe and thus cannot surpass him such as with Son Goku and Zeno, Goku is bound to the dragon ball multiverse and thus cannot surpass him." he said," This also means that your energies are not focused in your body but your soul, for example, say Ginyu body swaps with you to get your power, it wouldn't work because while he would get your muscular strength, most of the strength in dragon ball comes from ki or life energy which would be in your soul thus most of your power is still there, this unbound power could also give you quasi immortality since you would just be a soul floating around without a body until you remake one or get sent to the afterlife of a universe." he continued

"Okay, wow," I said shocked. That answers my potential but what about the hidden power he talked about.

"Oh that's easy," he said, wait did he just read my mind?

"You have a power called 'Genetic access' that you could not awaken due to your weak body and insufficient mental and life energy." Holy shit, I actually know what that is. One of my many hobbies would be to research hypothetical superpowers and I saw Genetic Access on a wiki, if it is as overpowered as I saw on that wiki then say goodbye to whatever universe I'm going to, wait am I even going anywhere?

"Yes, in fact, you are." he just did it again sonnofa-" but you first need to make 2 wishes, the first is entirely up to you but the second must be about what universe you want to start out in, and no completely overpowered wishes either you already have an unbound soul and OP ability," he finished

"Well alright since you talked about Dragonball a lot in your example I'll go with that and I want to be a super-elite Saiyan," I said.

"Well alright not too bad, I'll grant it and as a free added deluxe bonus gift I'll throw in a status page where you can see your abilities in a numerical format and can choose the multiverse you can go to since I was betting on you choosing a system," he said. "Well, off you go, and also remember I'll be watching." And with that, I disappeared from the void.
