Konrad had a propensity -- mayhaps more of a rule -- to leave his partners once their time together had come to its end. He didn't want to bother himself with the feelings that the women reserved for him to reciprocate. If it's a commitment that he sought, he wouldn't be sleeping around with other women because he already had a wife. 

Be that as it may, the circumstances of his marriage was a tad uncanny, to say the least. Konrad Brecheisen and his wife, Kara Bismarck, both agreed to an open marriage arrangement. As the heirs of two different conglomerates, they're both dedicated to their jobs and nothing could please them more than achieving greater heights in their line of work. It's for a fact that they did not have a meagre of emotional attachment to each other. More accurately, they chose not to bind themselves in the relationship that they had other than the purpose of seeking advancement in the business sector.
