Ah yes, players. Boys who play the dating game and leave the ladies wanting more. But, be aware of their game, or you’ll be playing it forever.
Prologue
Players. Womanizers. Ladykillers. They just wanted to play the dating game and leave the scene, leaving their victims heartbroken. The sad part is that many ladies fall for players easily. But to them, they're just a game. A player's game.

It's another day in Sarasota, Florida paradise. I walk into the school's library trying finding some books to read. When I enter, I begin to feel small from observing the bookshelves towering over me. I stroll through each section in need to find something that would help relieve my sense of boredom. As my eyes scan through each shelf, I strike interest upon a particular novel that's one shelf above my head. I attempt to jump up to it but it's no use since I'm only 5'3. As I try to go on my tippie toes, a rather large hand stretches over my head and grasps the book.
"Ah yes, 'One of Us is Lying'. One of my favorite works by Karen McManus". As I whirl around to see who it is, I turn to see a lofty guy hulking over me. His bronzed skin complexion is matched too well with his fluffy blonde hair. By glancing at the way his shirt curved his body, I could tell he was well built. When I look up to his face, my eyes meet with his and all I see is a depthless blue, something I could get lost in for hours. I recognized the guy. He was asked out by my neighbor and numerous girls that crossed paths with him. I wouldn't blame them for liking him just for his looks because staring at him for even a second is hypnotizing. Although he is quite handsome, I don't find him as the type to read.
"Pfft, you read?", I ask. It came off a bit more rude than I intended.
"In my spare time, which I do have a lot of." He explains, taking his free hand and turning it through his hair. "What's your name?"
"Cadence LeBlanc. You?", I ask.
"Preston Carter. A pretty name for a pretty girl, of course." He compliments me which makes my cheeks feel hot. "Preston, are you ready?" A girl comes out from the corner. "Well, that's my cue to leave. Let's keep in touch." He soon hands me his phone with a lighthearted expression. Once I put my number in, he exchanges his phone with the book into my hand and says back, "See you around, Cadence." As he walks off to the other girl, I see to realize that the girl accompanying him is my neighbor, giving me a vile stare. I wave off to him and walk away, twirling a strand of my white-blond hair. He's an interesting boy but, it's strange. We've only met today yet I'm a bit skeptical on why he approached me in such a manner: charming and amiable. I don't think too much of his encounter and put these pessimistic thoughts into the back of my mind. As I beamed with elation, I begin to think about this new friendship between us.

I have lunch with the guys, as always. There's really nothing else to talk about besides sports, parties, and girls. As I look over to the entrance, I get stunned as I see this beautiful girl. She wears a small white pleated skirt with a tucked in mint V neck T-shirt. Her tresses of silky white-blond hair coincides with her fair skin.
She's hot. "Check that out. How have we never noticed her before?" I ask. "Damn, looks fun." Dean says. "PFFT," Hunter says, checking her out and putting a hand over his mouth, leaning into his chair. "Her skirts riding up..." he laughs. "Hunter-" "How about...we make a bet?", Ryder interrupts, challenging us, looking up after playing with his food. Dean leans in a big more. "I'm listening," Hunter says, hiking up his backpack onto his shoulder. "Whoever can sleep with her first," Ryder explains. Another day, another game. "I'll bet on it," I state with immense pride. "What's the prize?", Hunter asks. Silence falls between us, giving Ryder a moment to think and say, "The girl". He smirks at us as he pushes up his rounded glasses up the bridge of his nose. We all exchange each other looks. "To raise the stakes, let's add in a thousand?", Hunter adds as he also intentionally brags about how rich is using daddy's money. As the bell rings, we all scatter off in the school to our next period. After school, I go to the library and by a twist of fate, I meet "her".
...
It's a few hours after going to the library and I walk out of Trinity's house, who is somewhat attractive, but didn't turn it on too well. As I'm buttoning up my shirt on the sidewalk, I see the one and only Cadence. Coincidences like this open too much and it's JUST getting good.
