The Beginning of a Great Saga

Baisak, 108

Snow, marching forward to their inevitable death, slowly approached a barren field, making a thick white blanket. In the distance, a small silhouette could be seen floating just above the snow. His face was covered by a hood and he was dressed all black, like a typical villain. He was flying at a very high speed seemingly moving towards the east.

"Wahh Wahhhh"

"Congratulations princess.....it's a boy!"

The old midwife exclaimed, as she slowly handed over the baby to the tired princess.

"My precious baby….hehe, she managed to let out a giggle, You look just like your father.", she muttered with a smile plastered on her face. The midwife and all of her team congratulated the princess and showered the baby with praises.

*CREAK*

A huge door was opened and a handsome man, in his 30's, entered the delivery room. His whole existence seemed to exclude elegance and luxury, but at the moment he looked very flustered and worried; marching towards the princess and the baby.

"Congratulations prince..It's a baby boy!"

Few people present in the delivery room immediately congratulated the prince and made way for him.

Staring gently at the baby and the princess, he commanded the people present in the room to leave, "Lilibet, my dear wife….Thank you for being the mother of my son"

Wiping off the sweat on Lilibet's forehead, he holded the child delicately on his arm.

"Your name will be 'Zion K Celeste', and you will be the proud son of the royal Celeste family!"

Looking gently at the baby, the prince declared and put the baby in its cradle.

Putting the baby to sleep and kissing his wife on her forehead and her lips, the prince muttered, "It must have been hard for you…you should rest."

Hearing his calm and relaxing voice induced Lilibet into a deep slumber as she slowly fell asleep with a smile on her face.

Aasae, 110

2 years later

"Mom, please let me learn magic! I promise, I will only read theories and will absolutely not practice it."

Zion, now 2 years old, was jumping and acting cutesy around his mother. But, he knew all his effort was for naught as his mother never listened to him when it came to him learning magic. According to his mother, apparently practicing magic before turning 5, leads to some serious problems.

"NO means NO, not now, you have to be at least 5 years old before you even touch anything related to magic, understand?" Lilibet couldn't help but feel angry as her son had been pestering her to teach him magic for a few months now, which was very exasperating.

No matter how cute he tried to be, and plead with teary eyes, he could never break his mother's cold and stern heart when it came to magic.

But to his mother's surprise, Zion still sneaked his way into learning some basic magic through the help of his caretakers who knew a bit of rudimentary magic. Since Zion was just two years old, he would have also faced some serious issue, that is, if he was a normal kid.

He was not a normal kid, he was far from it, a reincarnator. Previously, a student aged 16, studying science in a third world country, unfortunately died while performing some shenanigans in a chemistry lab. His death didn't carry much weight as he was a nobody, though his family did grief a little, but forgot about him in a few years.

Due to some unknown reason, he reincarnated in a medieval era, as a prince of a growing mid-sized kingdom known as Nodricia. Being born in a royal clan, he had all the richness he could ask for, and his happiness knew no bounds. Soon, after a few months of being born in the world Gaia, he found out that there was magic.

Wielding magic had been a dream of his since he was a small kid. His fascination only grew more, after he started reading novels like Harry Potter and such. As he grew older, he started to lean more towards chinese fantasy novels, which had more cultivation than magic, nonetheless he still liked the idea of having magic.

After finding out that there was magic in this new world, he grew even more excited. Who didn't want to fly or have inhumane powers? But to his disappointment, magic could only be learnt after being 5 years old.

However, fate had another plan for him. After his second birthday, he awakened his long awaited golden finger, a typical system with a game-like interface. Unfortunately, this system was not those overpowered kind and had very simple functions such as showing his progress, skill levels, and details related to his body.

Although he was curious as to why it was called cultivation instead of magic, he set it aside for the moment and focused more on persuading his new mother, Lilibet, to teach him magic and get him a book so that he could learn it himself. But to no avail, his mother was adamant on her decision to not let him even touch a book related to magic before he turned 5 which was understandable as many kids had died in the past due to learning magic prematurely.

However, since he had the system and knew he could learn magic, he couldn't resist the urge to perform magic by himself, so by deceiving a few of his caretakers, he finally got a beginner friendly book on basics of magic.

Apparently, these books could be found everywhere on the street and were not that uncommon. They looked more like a magazine from his world than a book as it had only a few 10-20 pages and didn't even have a cover.

"Hehe, finally! I will be the greatest magician this world has ever seen"

Giggling to himself, he slowly opened the book.
