Team Girl Power + Zan 11

We sat like that for a good five minutes, before Ty Lee jerked in my arms, "Oh!" she pulled back, breaking my grip on her and looking at me wide eyed, "I totally forgot!"

"What?" I questioned in confusion, raising an eyebrow at her.

"Azula told me to tell you to go meet the mongoose lizard she brought for you!" the perky acrobat girl rushed to explain, "They need to get to know you for a little bit before they'll let you ride them and Azula wants us all to be ready to get on them at a moments notice in case we run into the Avatar."

"And she waited three days to have me told this?" I raised an eyebrow and snorted.

"Yeah, she totally got caught up thinking on it too much," Ty Lee giggled, "It's why she only comes in here to spout orders at you then leaves, you've got her totally confused, she doesn't know how to react around you because you aren't afraid of her. Even Zuko was afraid of her when we were growing up, the only people that were never afraid of her were General Iroh, Fire Lord Ozai and Lady Ursa."

That made a lot of sense actually. Azula always tried to do everything perfectly, and because of how she grew up with everything always going her way, she didn't know how to react when her plans and thoughts went awry. For all her genius, she didn't know how to improvise at all and got more and more stressed the more thing didn't go her way. Her life was an oxymoron, a life full of being a spoilt brat, yet at the time being a damaged abused child.

The tale of the frog in the well came to mind. Even this small world, was so much bigger than Azula could hope to fathom as she is right now.

Putting her out of mind for now, I grasped Ty Lee by the hips and stood up, getting a giggle from her before I deposited her in the chair, "You can drive ten minutes or so until I get back, I filled up the engines with enough coal and fire to last a good hour just before you came in." I said.

"But what if Azula comes in here?" she asked, "I mean, she only gave you the job to drive this, she'll get pretty mad for disobeying her."

I snorted and rolled my eyes, "If she does just tell her I made you do it, and tell her I told you she can take it up with me if she has a problem with it," I replied. I shook my head at the absurdity of it all and made my way towards the door leading to the train carts, "Honestly, if she starts shit over something as small as this I might just say fuck it and kick her ass." I muttered under my breath.

"Will do!" Ty Lee waved me off happily.

Really, Azula must have traumatized her growing up for her to hesitate over something as small as this. But I know she's brave enough to step up if the situation calls for it, she threw her lot in with Mai to help her and put Azula down in all of two seconds when Mai helped Zuko escape from the Boiling Rock.

Honestly, kicking Azula's ass and showing her how wide the world truly was, would probably be better for her in the long run. She's never truly experienced the taste of failure before. But I just can't work up the desire to tackle that crazy mess of baggage she has.

I left the tank cog pit behind, making my way through the first two train carts, and found myself stepping into the third. The smell of wild life hit my nose quickly. It was hard to describe. Jut a pungent odour you cold instinctively tell came from animals.

It was a pretty wide open square room and that was it. On one side, there were various supplies for animals, while on the other there were four stalls, not unlike horse stalls, though quite a bit bigger.

Four massive dark scaled heads with glowing yellow eyes turned to look at me in curiosity. Mongoose Lizards. They were giant lizards almost twice the size of horses, both in height while on all fours and in length. And thankfully, the stalls all had names labelled on them.

The one at the end, having the name 'Zan' inscribed on it. I made my way over and looked over the massive dark scaled lizard who looked back at me, blinking wide glowing yellow eyes at me in curiosity, "Well, I guess we'll be working together for a little bit huh buddy?" I mused, slowly lifting my hand up for it to see.

It tilted its massive head forward and sniffed my hand for a few moments, before lowering its head to me and allowing me to pet it.

And just as I did, touching my palm to its cool scales and gently rubbing, a notification appeared before me.

(A beast has submitted to you!)

(Beast Tamer Ability Gained!)

(Beast Tamer(Novice): You can tame up to ten beasts. All beasts you have tamed gain a 20% boost to all abilities. You gain 1 permanent stat point in all physical stats for every beast tamed.)

(Would you like to Tame – Mongoose Lizard: Level 20?)

I read over the notifications I got in interest, before clicking mentally deciding yes. And as soon as I did, bright light erupted from the mongoose lizard's body, and a moment later it was gone. And suddenly, in my palm I held a small spherical dark green crystal that could easily be held between two fingers, and within it, I could see the frozen form of a miniature version of the mongoose lizard.

(Mongoose Lizard Tamed! Gained: 100 Experience Points.)

Oh badass, I get experience from using my beast taming skills? That's awesome!

(Would you like to assign a Name to the Mongoose Lizard?)

"Sure," I nodded, unlike pokemon I couldn't exactly just call it mongoose lizard now can I? "I'll call it Mong." short, simple and easy to remember.

As soon as the system accepted Mong's new name, a rush of information rushed through me. Its gender, a male by the way, his level, his abilities, I even got a separate relationship gauge for tamed beasts. And of course, I learned just how to summon and de-summon him.

With a thought, the dark green crystal in my hand shimmered with light, and Mong appeared once again in stall. "Now you stay here for now okay buddy?" I pet him, "We don't want Azula getting suspicious or anything like that."

Surprisingly, Mong nodded and bowed his head to me submissively. It seemed he had gained a higher form of intelligence from me taming him? Nice.

(Gained 2 Affection with Mong.)

As I left the animal train cart behind, I paused in the entryway between both it and the supplies cart. 'Status.' I thought. I wanted to get a good look at my full status page now.

'Well, I suppose this kind of makes up for being cooped up here for three days.' I mused with a grin. It would have probably taken me quite a while to get the Beast Tamer skill otherwise, and it was a pretty sweet skill, especially for this setting. Avatar was no Pokemon or Digimon, but there were a huge variety of powerful beasts throughout the world.

'Sabertooth Moose Lions are in the Earth Kingdom right? And Platypus Bears as well now that I think about it.' I hummed in thought as I began making my way back towards the tank front. Once I was stronger, I could see about going to the Serpent's Pass and taming one of those sea serpents. My eyes widened as a thought came to mind, 'I can even go after the Unagi!' I found grin widening to shit eating proportions. Or even, a Badger Mole! They could Earth Bend!

Who needs a fucking army of people, benders or not when I can get myself an army of badass powerful creatures?

So I'm uploading another story of mine here since I think it has enough written for it for now. It's a Yugioh GX Insert story, called Stacking The Deck. You can find it here: https://www.webnovel.com/book/stacking-the-deck-(yugioh-gx-insert)_20234553405318405#review - or just go thorugh my profile to get it. I'll also add the link as a paragraph comment if you just want to copy and paste it.
