Tien vs Yamcha

Tien didn't waste any time next morning. He got ready and said goodbye to Chiaotzu, then flew straight to capsule corp.

Tien was good at flying and traveled quickly; at this point in time, flying was still considered a special skill of Tien's martial arts school.

Flight would become much more common after 3 years, when Raditz arrives. Until then, only a few people in the group and Piccolo flew.

"I am here at last; that's capsule corporation."

Tien raised his eyebrows.

"Bulma lives here? This place is massive. Her father's the richest man in the world alright."

"Her family should have the information I want; they'll know how to establish a country."

Tien felt optimistic about his chances and flew down. And he would have kept going if he didn't feel a spike of energy in Bulma's yard.

That spike of energy was familiar to Tien; he turned around and decided to land on Bulma's yard, near the energy spike.

After touching the ground, Tien saw a familiar face smiling at him. This man wore orange clothes and had a scar running across his face.

"Tien! It's been two years since we last met. Good to see you, my man."

The man grinned and punched Tien's chest playfully.

"I sensed your energy coming in this direction; what's the matter? Are you looking for me?"

Tien smiled at the scarred man and shook his head.

"Good to see you too, Yamcha; you have gotten stronger since we last met at Goku's wedding."

"Sorry to disappoint you, but I didn't come here for you today. I wanted to ask Bulma something."

"Can you please let her know I am here?"

Hearing Tien's request, Yamcha's smile became a bit strained. But he agreed and took out his phone.

"No problem, man; I will call her right away."

Yamcha dialed a number, which was saved by the name of 'Nasty Harpy'. He didn't look very happy while making this call.

Tien observed him and read that werid name; looks like things might not be going so well between Bulma and Yamcha.

Ring

"What do you want, Yamcha?"

Bulma picked up the call and angrily yelled at Yamcha. Yamcha rubbed his eyebrows and showed Tien an apologetic smile.

Coughing lightly, Yamcha explained why he called her before Bulma could yell at him again.

"Bulma, Tien's here to meet you; we are in your yard. He wants to ask you about something."

Rustling noises came from the other side of the phone. Then Bulma spoke again; this time her voice was enthusiastic.

"Tien is here to visit? That's a surprise."

"Sorry Tien You might have to wait a little. I am in the middle of an experiment."

"Give me 5 minutes. I will finish up here, and then we can talk."

Tien had no problem with that and agreed right away.

"No problem, Bulma; please take your time."

Bulma muttered a quick thanks and cut the call without saying anything to Yamcha in the end.

Tien looked at him strangely, which made Yamcha laugh in embarrassment.

After blocking Bulma's number, he put the phone back into his pocket and sighed in resignation.

"We broke up."

Yamcha smiled wilyly.

"She saw me with a girl downtown and got angry."

Tien patted Yamcha's shoulder in consolation, although he wasn't surprised this happened.

The same thing happened in the original story. Yamcha cheated on Bulma, and they parted ways.

"Maybe I came at a bad time."

Tien said apologetically, and Yamcha just chuckled lightly.

"It's okay, I wasn't that serious about Bulma; we barely had a date or two."

"I was busy training at Kame House, and my mind kind of drifted away."

Yamcha shrugged and stopped talking. Tien also patted his back twice, then no longer consoled him.

Sensing that the mood had gone down due to him, Yamcha smiled again and grabbed Tien's shoulder.

"Hey, I've got an idea. Bulma's going to take a while; we should do something until then."

"Let's fight. The last time we fought was during the 22nd world martial arts tournament."

"I have become much stronger since that day. I won't lose to you this time."

Yamcha cracked his knuckles with a smirk. Last time he fought with Tien, Tien had mercilessly broken his leg.

He still remembered how painful that fight was. Tien had stomped on his leg bone and snapped it in half.

For a while Yamcha lived with a cast, but time heals all wounds. A long time had passed since that day; he was ready to challenge Tien again.

"You wanna fight me? Are you sure?"

Tien observed Yamcha with narrowed eyes. Despite Yamcha's lazy attitude holding him back, he was a relatively powerful fighter.

He wouldn't mind fighting against him; Yamcha had gotten stronger since their fight 5 years ago; maybe his skills have also improved.

Tien decided to give it a shot. He jumped back and made some distance; bending down, Tien got into the crane hermit stance.

"Great, let's do this."

Yamcha smiled and got into his own stance; he took a pose resembling a wolf. This was his self-made fighting style called the Wolf Fang Fist.

After taking a stance, Yamcha wasted no time and rushed towards Tien like a wolf, his clawed hands slashed at Tien's chest.

Swish

Tien stepped back and redirected the claw attack; his fingers curled and pointed up, aiming at Yamcha's head.

A bright yellow glow lit up on Tien's finger; a good amount of Ki was building up on it.

"Dodon ray."

Tien whispered

"Oh shit!"

Yamcha cursed and bent back quickly; an energy beam zoomed through the area where his head was just now.

Kicking the ground, Yamcha backflipped out of the way. Before he skidded to a stop, his hands had become cupped.

"KAME-"

Yamcha's cupped hand was glowing blue; a large amount of Ki was gathering in his palm and was being squeezed into a ball.

Sensing the strong energy, Tien frowned and fired a quick dodon ray. Yamcha dodged left, but the attack tore through his shoulder.

"HAME-"

Gritting his teeth, Yamcha ignored the pain and continued gathering energy, preparing to use Turtle School's signature move.

Taking a dual-wielding stance, Tien rapidly fired a bunch of dodon rays with both hands. The barrage of attacks zoomed in from two different angles.

"I hate this attack."

Yamcha angrily yelled and tried to dodge the beam barrage; unlike his slow-charging Kamehameha, Tien's dodon ray can be fired instantly.

But the charge time for Kamehameha was worth it. Intense energy fluctuations had gathered in Yamcha's palm; the energy was way beyond Tien's quick attacks.

Kamehameha was almost ready and couldn't be cancelled anymore. Tien no longer attacked Yamcha; he raised his hands and braced for impact.

"Take this"

"HA!"
