"Hyuga Shinki!!!"
Shimura Danzo was so furious that his nose almost went crooked. This damn brat had blocked him in the alley. No matter how hard he tried to leave or attack, he was stuck—trapped in the most humiliating way.
"What should we do about him?"
Uchiha Fugaku took a deep breath, turning his head to look at Shinki.
Watching Danzo's incompetence and rage as he dared to lash out at a mere puppet, Shinki smirked playfully.
"Why should I deal with him? He hasn't done anything serious. Just let him stay stuck there. When I'm satisfied, I'll let him go."
"But..." Fugaku hesitated. "He's shouting so loudly, he might attract others."
"Then let him." Shinki's eyes glinted mischievously. "I'd actually love to see how many people dare to come."
Just as Fugaku predicted, Danzo's impotent fury eventually attracted attention. A few ninjas, curious about the commotion, approached the alley cautiously. But before getting too close, they noticed the puppet's ANBU equipment and fled without hesitation.
Everyone knew better than to interfere with the ANBU. Ordinary ninjas were no match for them, and sticking their noses where they didn't belong was an invitation to disaster.
One by one, those who initially came to investigate quietly retreated, pretending they had seen nothing.
The result? The Third Hokage was woken up in the middle of the night.
"What?! You're saying Danzo is trapped outside the Uchiha clan by ANBU puppets?"
Groggy from being rudely awakened, Hiruzen Sarutobi rubbed his temples as he processed the guard's report.
"Why the hell was Danzo even at the Uchiha clan's territory in the first place?" he grumbled, his irritation mounting. Mid-sentence, Hiruzen froze, realization dawning.
Danzo Shimura... that man never acted without some ulterior motive. Whatever he had planned, it was undoubtedly bad news.
By the time the Hokage arrived, Danzo was still hopelessly stuck in the alley.
"Shinki," Hiruzen said, approaching him directly and ignoring Danzo. "I had no knowledge of this. Danzo acted on his own. I'll ensure you and the Uchiha clan receive a proper explanation."
Shinki glanced at Fugaku, who stood silently with his head lowered. Then, shaking his head, Shinki spoke sharply.
"Hokage, you're making this hard for me. As the mediator, I convinced Uchiha and Hyuga to lend money to the village during its time of need. The village agreed to their terms. Yet, here we are—with Danzo plotting against Uchiha behind everyone's back."
Shinki's voice grew colder.
"You're used to breaking promises, aren't you? Tell me, what am I supposed to do now? Kill the idiot in the alley and pretend I saw nothing? Or should I just stop trusting the Hokage altogether?"
Sarutobi suppressed his growing frustration. "You can trust me. Danzo will never have another chance to cause trouble. That's a promise."
Shinki narrowed his eyes. "I hope so. Because next time, Hokage, you'd better prepare a lively funeral for him."
With a wave of his hand, Shinki signaled the puppets to retreat. Without another word, he left the scene.
As the puppets vanished, Fugaku saluted the Third Hokage and left with his guards. Hiruzen stood alone, seething with anger—at Shinki's veiled threats, at Fugaku's silent accusations, and most of all, at Danzo's recklessness.
Once the puppets were gone, Danzo finally stepped out of the alley. But instead of leaving, he waited for Hiruzen to approach.
"Danzo."
Hiruzen's voice was ice-cold as he entered the alley, his eyes blazing with fury.
Instead of apologizing, Danzo immediately lashed out. "Sarutobi, look at the state of the ANBU! They dare monitor the village's top leadership! How can you allow this insubordination under your watch? Their power must be curtailed—"
"That's enough!"
Hiruzen's roar echoed through the alley, silencing Danzo mid-sentence. If it happens again, Shimura Danzo, even I won't be able to save you.
