ON THE RUN

"Lady Naga, what kind of weapon are they holding?" While they absorbing the fact that they just did a massacre on the streets of Tokyo, Ashiro suddenly asked with a curious look on his face. At this moment, he remembered how Kaguya flawlessly wiped a Kaiju out of existence with her shield alone inwhich his uncle couldn't do with an all offensive weapons like the shotgun.

"Well they are bio weapons" Lady Naga replied with a faint smile on her face. "Bio weapons?" Ashiro asked back with a confused look on his face which Lady Naga expected as she began to explain.

"The bio-weapons wielded by Hanabi and her companions are advanced pieces of technology that merge organic and synthetic components, creating deadly, self-repairing, and adaptable armaments. Or simply put that are weapons which have adapted to the Kaiju technology and are now living weapons."

"Woah...." Ashiro muttered with an amazed look on his face. This triggered a light chuckle out of Lady Naga as she said. "Don't worry though, you will get your own bio weapon soon enough."

"Really!?" Ashiro exclaimed with a surprised and excited look on his face which stunned Lady Naga. But she eventually smiled as she replied. "Sure"

After a short while, the group resumed their search for a vehicle in fair shape. In a rather wide alley not too far away from the spot they performed a massacre, Kyoto's eyes narrowed as he spotted an RV, a bulky, dust-covered vehicle half-hidden under the rubble of an old storefront. He quickly moved closer, inspecting it with a glimmer of hope as he realized it seemed intact. Heart racing, he called out, "Hey! I found something!"

The others gathered around, their eyes widening at the sight of the vehicle. "Move let me see" Lady Naga stepped forward, her fingers tracing over the metal, brushing away layers of grime as she inspected it. She climbed inside, her fingers deftly working over the console as she checked the systems, occasionally muttering to herself. Moments later, the dashboard lit up, and the engine rumbled to life, startling them all with the sudden sound of hope in the silence of the ruined city.

"It's working," she confirmed with a small, triumphant smile. The group exchanged glances, a flicker of relief crossing their faces. For the first time in a long while, they had found something that could actually take them closer to their goal.

Grrr!!!!

But Just as they moved toward the RV's doors, a deep, guttural shriek echoed from above, freezing them in place. They instinctively looked up, eyes widening as three hulking Kaijus plummeted down, landing on the RV's roof with a sickening thud. Their twisted forms hunched low, eyes blazing with a predatory gleam as they fixed on the group below, their claws scraping against the metal like nails on a chalkboard.

"Get off our vehicle!!"

Kyoto reacted first, taking out a pistol from his pocket, his gaze steely. A split second later, Hanabi's cannon hummed to life, her stance tense. In swift, synchronized moves, they fired, explosions tearing through the Kaijus with deadly precision. The creatures slumped to the side, lifeless, and toppled off the RV, leaving bloodstains trailing down the vehicle's sides.

"Inside! Now!" Lady Naga commanded, ushering everyone into the RV. They piled in, hearts pounding as Lady Naga took the driver's seat, flooring the accelerator. The RV lurched forward, speeding out of the alleyway.

But as they turned onto the open street, Ashiro's gaze flicked to the rear window, his breath catching. Emerging from the fog of the destroyed cityscape, a massive horde of Kaijus surged forward, their eyes gleaming with a bloodlust that sent a chill down his spine.

"They're not giving up," Suguru muttered, clutching his weapon tight. As the RV picked up speed, the Kaijus thundered after them, their cries echoing as they gained ground.

Lady Naga's gaze remained fixed on the road ahead, but her voice suddenly rang out in a calm and authoritative tone. "Kyoto, Suguru–take the windows. Use your long range weapons and keep them at bay. I'll take the Bayshore route; it's the fastest way to Yokohama."

"Yes, Lady Naga"

Without hesitation, Kyoto and Suguru scrambled to opposite windows. Suguru steadied his crossbow, aiming at the advancing Kaijus, while Kyoto took position with his bio-pistol, the barrel glowing faintly with a cold, eerie light. They opened fire in rapid succession, each shot landing with ruthless precision. Suguru's bio-bolts tore into the Kaijus, releasing bursts of corrosive energy on impact, while Kyoto's shots were swift and lethal, piercing through the creature's heads and limbs to slow their advance.

Lady Naga gripped the steering wheel, keeping her eyes sharp as she maneuvered the RV through the shattered remains of Tokyo's streets. The rumble of the Kaijus grew louder behind them, their relentless roars mixing with the sound of Suguru and Kyoto's continuous fire.

As they sped toward the Bayshore route, the distance to Yokohama felt both agonizingly close and desperately far. But Lady Naga's face remained set in determination. The only way was forward, and she only knew the team needed her steady hand on the wheel to get their alive.

But just as they sped down the Bayshore route, Lady Naga's sharp eyes suddenly caught a sudden flicker in the road ahead. Dark tendrils burst out of the cracked asphalt, writhing and lunging toward the RV, each one twitching with a life of its own."Suguru, Kyoto, stay put in the RV" Lady Naga said as without missing a beat, she yanked the wheel, pulling the RV into an almost impossible swerve that narrowly avoided the first strike. Her hands moved instinctively, guiding the RV in zigzag patterns, dodging each twisting tendril as they erupted from every side.

"Woah...!!" Ashiro exclaimed with a startled look on his face while he tried to steady himself in the RV along with the others.

"Hold on!" she barked, her focus intense. The RV lurched and rocked, but her unorthodox driving — skill honed through countless battles and escapes — was nothing short of extraordinary. She swung them left, then right, steering clear of the snaking obstacles, her gaze locked on any possible escape.

Just when it seemed like they'd cleared the last of the tendrils, the road opened to an abrupt dead end, a concrete barrier looming ahead. Lady Naga's face hardened in realization as the others braced themselves, their expressions reflecting a mix of shock and dread.

"A.... Dead end?"

"Shit! We are done for!"

"Damn it… no turning back now," she muttered under her breath, tightening her grip on the wheel as the Kaijus' echoing roars reverberated closer from behind.
