The three girls sneaked into Drew's assistant Katie's room.
Jessica closed the door behind her, patting her chest. "Oh my God, I'm so nervous. I've never done anything like this before!"
Scarlett sat next to her, leaning against the door, her face showing the same nervousness. She was taking deep breaths.
"Come on, come on, I'm going to open the bathroom door," Lindsay said, the only one of them not nervous. She had already rushed to the bathroom door and was waving excitedly.
"This girl, is she actually this innocent or just pretending?" Scarlett muttered under her breath.
Jessica shook her head. Although she'd been friends with Lindsay for years, she still couldn't figure out what kind of person she was. Something about Lindsay always seemed a little... off. What was going on?
With Lindsay's whispered urging, Scarlett and Jessica calmed down and followed her.
Lindsay gently turned the bathroom door handle and murmured, "I hope no one's in there, I hope no one's in there..."
The door opened a crack. The girls peeked inside, relieved to find the light was on, but there was no one there.
"Great!" Lindsay whispered, barely able to contain her excitement. She quickly covered her mouth, then rushed to the door leading to Drew's room, listening carefully.
Jessica followed, her face flushed with anticipation.
"Wait, wait a minute!" Scarlett's voice, sounding slightly off, came from behind them.
"What's wrong?" Jessica asked, turning around to see Scarlett's face turning red, her expression odd.
"I... I'm too nervous. I really need to go to the bathroom," Scarlett said, blushing.
"Go pee?" Jessica asked quietly.
"Yeah…" Scarlett blushed even more.
"You're useless!" Jessica muttered, rolling her eyes. "Just do your thing and stop holding up the operation!"
"I can't go out with you two here," Scarlett replied, embarrassed.
"No one's even looking at you," Jessica shot back.
As Jessica pressed her ear against the door with Lindsay, she could hear the sound of water running in the bathroom.
"How long is she going to take? The sound is so loud, we can't let anyone hear!" Jessica grumbled.
After a while, the water stopped.
Jessica suddenly had a thought and whispered, "Don't flush!"
"Got it!"
"Then put the seat down."
Moments later, Scarlett reappeared.
Lindsay raised an eyebrow. "Did you wash your hands, Scarlett?"
Scarlett winced as Lindsay playfully flicked her on the forehead. "Ow!" Scarlett yelped, rubbing her head.
The three girls pressed against the door again, listening carefully.
Though still separated by a door, they were close enough to hear Drew's voice from the next room. It sounded like he was getting worked up.
The girls couldn't help but feel curious.
After a moment, Lindsay suddenly had an idea and whispered to Jessica and Scarlett, "Why don't we try to see if this door opens?"
Jessica was taken aback by Lindsay's idea, but as she grew more irritated, she nodded, stepping aside.
"I think Drew locked it," Scarlett said, also moving back. Her eyes gleamed with excitement.
Lindsay gently turned the handle.
The door opened just a crack.
Three heads poked through the gap, peeking into the room. They saw Martin and Drew sitting together, playing a game of poker.
Drew's hand had been beaten by Martin's bomb card—Martin's four aces crushed Drew's set of four kings. In the end, Martin won the game.
Martin grinned, saying, "Now you know who's really good. If you don't listen to me next time, I'll blow you away with my king bomb!"
"Well, I'll definitely be good, I promise!" Drew responded, smiling like a well-behaved kitten. She gently rested her head on Martin's shoulder and wrapped her arms around him.
The night was growing gentler, more intoxicating.
Lindsay, still peeking through the door crack, thought to herself, "What's a 'king bomb' supposed to mean?"
After the game ended, the three girls retracted their heads, wide-eyed and in shock from the scene they had witnessed.
They whispered to each other, then returned to Katie's room, lying down on the big bed to quietly discuss what they had just seen.
"So that's what was going on?" Jessica asked.
"You didn't know, Lindsay?" Scarlett replied with a teasing smile.
"I'm only fourteen!" Lindsay protested, looking embarrassed.
"Please, we work in the entertainment industry. Lots of people are doing that by the time they're fourteen. Have you never seen that video?" Scarlett added with a mischievous grin.
"What video?" Lindsay asked, confused.
"Haha, Scarlett, you just exposed yourself!" Jessica laughed.
"Have you done that, Scarlett?" Lindsay asked with wide eyes.
"Of course not," Scarlett replied with a proud smile. "I'm saving my first time for Martin."
"Well, I'm saving mine too!" Lindsay puffed out her chest proudly.
"That's nothing to brag about!" Jessica said, rolling her eyes. "Of course, I'm saving mine too."
"Wait, where's that sound coming from?" Lindsay suddenly asked, looking worried.
"Ahhh!" The three girls screamed together, startled by the sudden voice.
They all turned toward the source of the sound.
Then, they saw Martin, fully dressed, leaning casually against the bathroom doorframe. His eyes narrowed as he looked at them with an amused expression.
"When did you guys come in?" Jessica stammered, caught off guard.
"When you said, 'me too,'" Martin replied with a sly smile.
The girls immediately flushed with embarrassment.
Martin raised an eyebrow. "By the way, who didn't flush after using the toilet? It smells like a sewer in here. Are you guys a little upset?"
Scarlett turned bright red, then grabbed Jessica and Lindsay's arms. "Anyone who dares to leak our secret will face my 'knob torture'!" she warned with a mischievous grin.
Martin laughed, his gaze briefly flickering to Scarlett's face. He had known about their little spying game the whole time.
He'd already sensed them lurking by the bathroom door. He'd been focused on the poker game, but Drew had been acting suspiciously. It wasn't hard to guess what was going on.
"What are you three doing, hiding out in Katie's room?" Martin asked, pretending not to notice their earlier behavior.
Jessica quickly made up an excuse. "We were just curious about what a single room looked like."
Scarlett pinched her waist in frustration and added, "Katie left and gave the room to Lindsay to keep the key. So we came over to watch TV. The TV in our room was broken."
Martin looked at the off TV with an amused expression. "Really? Watching a black screen must be so much fun."
Jessica pinched Scarlett back, signaling her that the excuse was weak.
"I'm sleepy!" Lindsay yawned, covering her mouth.
"Oh, you're sleepy? Alright, you should all rest. I'll head back to my room," Martin said, giving Lindsay a fond look.
As Martin left, Lindsay noticed Jessica and Scarlett were both eyeing her curiously.
"What's going on?" Lindsay asked, nervously shrinking back.
Scarlett raised an eyebrow. "I swear, this girl is pretending to be all innocent, but she's probably the cleverest one of us."
"Yeah, I think we've all been fooled by her. She's the sneakiest one among us!" Jessica added.
"What do we do now?" Scarlett asked.
Jessica grinned. "Tickle her!"
"Ahh, no!" Lindsay protested, bursting into laughter.
The moon peeked out from behind the clouds, as if sharing in their amusement.
The wind was cool, gently tugging at their heartstrings.
