Guest at Home

Chapter 10; Guest at home.

Finally, after completing all the files, in the late evening at 9:00 pm, Animesh looked at the clock hanging on the wall. Suddenly, there was a sound beside him.

Ring...ring...! It was the sound of the landline.

Animesh picked it up and said,

"Hello?"

"Son...!" A gentle female voice came from the other side of the phone.

"Hmm...Maa? Is something wrong?" he asked when he heard his mother's voice, as his parents rarely called him since he became the Prime Minister of India.

"Hmm...will you come home today? There are guests here, and you'll be happy to meet them. Why don't you come back?" his mother, Sarita, said.

"Oh... someone has come to the house?" Animesh asked in a doubtful tone. He couldn't think of anyone who could make him feel that way.

"Aman, you must come back today!" his mother urged him to come home.

Since becoming the Prime Minister, he usually stayed at the official residence, but his parents hadn't moved there—they still lived in their own house in another area.

"Okay, wait for half an hour. I'll be back soon." After saying this, he hung up the phone.

Then, Animesh called Mahesh, who was preparing some files. After arranging a few matters, both left the office.

"Sir!"

Just as he came out of the building, Animesh got in his car and told the driver to take him to his parents' home, with two security cars ahead and behind the one he was in.

However, very few people could recognize Animesh's face or car because he was young, and few had seen his face—even after he'd become the Prime Minister of India. After all, there was no social media at that time.

So, in the quiet streets of New Delhi, he made his way back to his home.

---

Twenty Minutes Later

In the middle of New Delhi, there were many houses where the richest people of Delhi lived. And here stood Animesh's home.

Soon, a huge mansion came into view, and Animesh's convoy entered the property and parked.

After getting out of the car, the car soon left, but the security guards were still there.

Animesh directly entered his house when he saw another two pairs of shoes placed, one of a man and the other of a woman. After taking off his shoes, he first washed his hands and feet inside, then finally entered the home. In India, there is a tradition of keeping shoes outside the house to avoid bringing filth inside, as the home is considered the residence of gods and the soul of humans rather than a temple.

When he entered the main hall of his house, Animesh saw his parents' faces and then noticed the backs of two people—a girl and a man.

Animesh could guess the age of both of them by looking at their hair and dressing style. One was almost over 50 years old, and the other was about his age.

A few seconds later, when he stood in front of his parents, he saw their faces.

"Aman...! Sit here. Look, your Uncle Sunder and Vanshika have come," Sarita said, patting the seat beside her.

"Uncle Sunder..?" For a moment, Animesh fell into deep thought, but he had always controlled his expressions. Soon, he recalled who they actually were.

Uncle Sunder's name was Sunder Raj, and he was a friend of Animesh's father from school. As for Vanshika, she was Uncle Sunder's daughter.

He came in front of Uncle Sunder, bowed down to touch his feet, and said,

"Pranam, Uncle!" Showing respect in this way is a tradition in India. It's believed that touching the feet of elders grants blessings and strength.

"Haha...live a long life!" Patting his back, Uncle Sunder laughed heartily.

Animesh nodded, then sat down beside his mother and looked at Vanshika.

She was a young woman around 24, radiating elegance and beauty. Her fair skin glowed softly, and her striking black hair cascaded down her back in glossy waves. Her figure was tall and graceful, with long legs. She wore a traditional green lehenga choli, intricately adorned with delicate embroidery, highlighting her refined style.

While Animesh looked at her, she looked back at him. At some point, their eyes met, and smiles formed on both their faces.

They clearly knew each other and might have some affection for each other. However, a few years ago, they had gone their own ways and had little contact since.

Vanshika's eyes swept over Animesh, showing a mix of anger and nostalgia, as though seeing a friend who hadn't been around for years.

After a while, as everyone talked, Animesh and Vanshika remained silent, observing the scene like spectators.

"Haha...Aman, now you've become the Prime Minister of our country. Although there was some conflict earlier and you were initially chosen as their puppet, from the skills I see in you, I believe you truly have the capacity to lead our country. With your youth and vision, it will be beneficial for our nation," Uncle Sunder praised Animesh.

"Haha...you're saying too much. I'm not that good!" Animesh humbly denied his uncle's praise, glancing at his mother with a sigh of relief.

While they talked, Animesh's mother and father looked at Animesh and Vanshika and said,

"You two, go away for a while. We have some necessary matters to discuss!" Uncle Sunder said with a serious expression.

Animesh and Vanshika looked at each other and nodded.

Animesh stood up, with Vanshika following him.

Seeing them leave, the three adults exchanged amused glances and said,

"Look at the kid's expression. Even if he's become the Prime Minister, he's still wary under our gaze. He must have something he feels guilty about," they laughed together.

"Hey, Raghav, when do you plan to let them get married?" Sunder Raj sat beside Raghav like an old friend.

See

Watching them, Sarita shook her head and said,

"I'll prepare dinner soon," then left the room.

[Hello, come and support me...!]
