Finally, the blinding light faded.
Where the massive chakra sphere had struck, there was now a gigantic crater.
Lying in its depths were twelve bodies, their forms intact yet utterly lifeless, with every cell within them destroyed beyond repair. They were as dead as one could be.
In the distance, Kinkaku and Ginkaku—who had barely escaped—looked on, hearts pounding as they took in the scene.
The enormous crater and the bodies within filled them with lingering fear. Had they not managed to flee in time, they knew they would have shared the same fate.
But the fear quickly turned to fury.
Those twelve shinobi had been elite Jonin under their command—loyal soldiers who'd followed them through countless battles. Now, all reduced to corpses.
"Mochizuki Hui, you're dead!" Kinkaku growled, blood-red chakra bubbling around him until he transformed into a monstrous figure cloaked entirely in the sinister red chakra of the Nine-Tails.
Seeing this, Ginkaku let out a low growl and transformed as well, their forms now like demonic beasts.
Hui's Shadow Avatar watched them with mild interest. Although he had been in the ninja world for years, he had never directly faced off against a Jinchuriki. Kinkaku and Ginkaku were not true Jinchuriki, but their current forms came close enough.
"Interesting," remarked Hui's other Shadow Avatar.
"Die!" Kinkaku and Ginkaku roared in unison, charging at the two Avatars with terrifying speed.
To an ordinary Jonin, even to most elite ones, such speed would be nearly impossible to evade. Even Kage-level ninjas would struggle against Kinkaku and Ginkaku at this speed.
But the two weren't facing ordinary shinobi—they were facing Hui.
A sage who had fused with natural energy, turning into a true force of nature.
To the Avatars' keen senses, Kinkaku and Ginkaku's rapid movements appeared slow and deliberate, each twitch and step easily tracked.
BAM!
Just as Kinkaku and Ginkaku reached the Avatars, the two of Hui Avatars moved, dodging their attacks with ease and delivering chakra-infused punches to the beasts' backs. Each punch carried immense force, enough to shatter bones.
The blow sent Kinkaku and Ginkaku crashing into the ground, blood trickling from their mouths in disbelief.
"Heavenly foot of pain!"
Avatar One raised his foot and slammed it down at them, creating massive cracks that spiderwebbed across the ground.
However, Kinkaku and Ginkaku managed to evade the strike, propelled by the instinct for survival. Moving just in time, they rolled out of the crater Avatar One's kick had created.
Climbing to their feet, Kinkaku and Ginkaku gazed at the shattered ground, cold sweat trickling down their foreheads. They had heard stories of Mochizuki Hui's strength, but experiencing it firsthand was an entirely different matter.
"That speed, that power… I see now why Ai lost to him so easily," Ginkaku murmured, glancing at Avatar One with a trace of fear.
Kinkaku, his face dark with frustration, quickly concluded. They had underestimated Hui.
"So this is the 'mighty' Kinkaku and Ginkaku? What a disappointment," Avatar One taunted with a sneer.
"Agreed. Honestly, it's kind of pathetic," Avatar Two chimed in, shaking his head in mock disappointment.
"If that's the case, we might as well finish them off," Avatar Two continued, vanishing from his spot.
In the next instant, he was right next to Ginkaku, delivering a brutal kick that sent him hurtling backward. He crashed through a line of trees, splintering them before finally smashing into the ground.
"Urgh!" Ginkaku coughed up blood, looking at Avatar Two with sheer terror.
"That speed!" Kinkaku stammered, horrified. Even in his transformed state, he had barely seen Avatar Two's movements.
"And you still have time to think about it?" Avatar One's voice sounded in Kinkaku's ear. He instinctively raised his arms to defend himself, but the force of Avatar One's punch left his arm numb, sending him skidding back.
"Damn it!" Kinkaku roared, charging at Avatar One again.
Though Avatar One's power was undeniable, Kinkaku's Nine-Tails chakra cloak provided significant resistance. The previous strike had left him shaken, but his tail beast-enhanced durability kept him going.
"You still want more?" Avatar One scoffed, his fist glowing with chakra. He struck Kinkaku again, the impact leaving Kinkaku seeing stars.
As Kinkaku staggered to his feet, another blow from Avatar One sent him flying into the air, where Avatar Two was waiting.
"Time to go down!" Avatar Two smirked, launching a powerful kick that sent Kinkaku plummeting back to the ground.
BOOM!
Kinkaku crashed into the earth, creating a massive crater on impact.
"Kinkaku!" Ginkaku cried out in rage, lunging toward Avatar One.
But his speed was child's play to Avatar One, who countered with a swift punch to Ginkaku's abdomen, sending him hurtling toward Avatar Two's position.
Avatar Two's lips curled into a grin as he saw Ginkaku approaching, and he swung a fist with brutal force.
COUGH!
Ginkaku spat blood as he collided with Kinkaku, the two rolling across the ground and carving a deep trench in the dirt.
"That was satisfying," Avatar One said, glancing at Avatar Two, who nodded in agreement.
"Definitely. It feels good to vent some frustration," Avatar Two replied, clearly pleased.
In the trench, Kinkaku and Ginkaku slowly pulled themselves to their feet, leaning on each other for support, their eyes filled with caution as they looked at the two Avatars.
Regaining their composure, Kinkaku released his Nine-Tails form, leaving only a chakra cloak surrounding him. He reached into his ninja pouch, pulling out a gleaming golden rope.
Seeing this, Ginkaku also dispelled his transformation, leaving only the cloak of chakra as he took out his Seven Star Sword and the Crimson Gourd.
"Ginkaku!" Kinkaku called out, his voice steely as he prepared to fight.
"Understood!" Ginkaku replied, steeling himself as they rushed toward Avatar One.
After the beating they had taken, they knew—without the Sage of Six Paths' tools, they had no chance against Mochizuki Hui.
