Bring a Husband to Her Home

[Ding! Lucian Charon has been successfully registered as Host's potential husband!]

[Romance Quest: Bring Lucian to Willow Village]

Medeia twitched her eyes. How could she complete that quest?!

They barely knew each other, so the hot-sexy man probably wouldn't want to come to her village because they were in the freaking apocalypse world!

Anything bad could happen once they trusted random people easily.

"Don't be scared." Lucian wiped her tears with his thumb. "Nothing bad will happen to you."

That … that was bullshit.

They stood before a massive falcon, a freaking Grade-S mutant that could kill them within seconds. Hence, everything bad could happen to her anytime!

At that time, Medeia was worried that she had chosen a big talker but actually a loser as her potential husband?

Fuck, she should have thought long and hard before choosing her potential husband!

Damn you, handsome face!

"Stay here for a while. I'll be quick." He put Medeia into a hole in the tree trunk so she could be safe.

Medeia watched him running to the falcon in confused looks because there was no way he could fight the Grade-S monster that quickly.

She didn't even know his abilities and assumed he was just a big talker.

She sighed, thinking that her potential husband would probably die soon.

At least, she had touched his broad pectoral and felt his muscles, even just for a minute.

But her bad assumptions vanished instantly when she saw Lucian draw his sword and fight the falcon. His movement was fast and had deadly control. His sword looked rusty, but when it hit something, it could easily cut through.

The massive bird screeched, its wings slicing through the air like blades as it moved toward him. But Lucian didn't flinch and there was no fear in his eyes.

"Is he using his ability?" asked Medeia to the system.

[No. System can't detect a mutant ability from him.]

"So, that's his raw power?" Medeia's breath caught in her throat, murmuring, "Impossible."

Lucian's sword clashed with the falcon's iron beak before he cut the beak. Before the massive bird could recover, Lucian struck again, this time plunged his blade deep into the falcon's neck.

The falcon didn't even have time to let out a dying cry before Lucian sliced off its head. The falcon's head was flung far away and surprisingly landed in front of Medeia.

She hissed, disgusted by a decapitated falcon's head. She kicked the head away and stuck out her tongue. "Feel it, sucker."

"Oh, come on! I just survived death, can't you just let me curse all I want?"

[Request denied. There is no excuse for cursing]

Medeia grunted, but she immediately changed her expression once Lucian turned to her, his emerald eyes softening slightly as they met hers. "Are you alright?"

Medeia nodded, pretending to be scared by the lifeless falcon. "I'm fine. Thank you for saving me, good sir."

Lucian gave her a bright smile. "Glad you're safe." he helped her get out of the tree and avoided the pool of blood on the ground.

Medeia looked at the beheaded falcon. "I don't understand. Why is there a Grade-S mutant in the yellow zone forest?"

"It didn't live here." Lucian explained, "The falcon usually lives on top of the mountains, but they will come down when they want to get food supplies."

"Human?"

"Yes, they love humans' meat. Maybe it came here because it smelled humans' scent."

Medeia looked at him in amusement. "You know a lot."

Lucian chuckled. "Well, I have learned about them for fifteen years." His eyes widened as he realized something. "Oh, I'm sorry. My name is Lucian ... Lucian Charon."

Medeia almost forgot that she had never asked his name, but she knew that from the system. Fortunately, she had not said his name out loud yet.

"I'm Medeia Vega. You can just call me Medeia or anything you like."

Baby or honey would sound good.

She wanted to talk more, but the pain in her thigh suddenly came again and it felt worse than before.

She wasn't a beginner to feeling pain, but her current body's pain tolerance was so low that she wanted to scream every time her wound touched something.

Before she lost her balance, Lucian caught her body and looked into her wound that started bleeding again. "When did you get hurt?"

Medeia grimace. "A while ago. I've been stabbed by a branch after the falcon created a tornado."

Lucian put his jacket on the ground, letting Medeia sit on top of it. He opened her careless knot and saw her blood flowing profusely from the wound.

[Warning! Warning! Host's HP has decreased drastically!]

[Critical condition alert! Critical condition alert!]

That annoying sound rang in her mind numerous times, but Medeia had no energy to scold the system.

"I feel sleepy," murmured Medeia.

"No. No. No. You can't fall asleep." Lucian patted her cheek several times, then put a red leaf in her mouth.

She creased her forehead as the bitter taste of the leaf filled her mouth. She wanted to throw it out, but Lucian immediately closed her mouth.

"I know it tastes bitter and disgusting, but the bitterness can keep you awake." Lucian opened his backpack, taking several dry plants that Medeia didn't recognize. "It will hurt for a while, but I promise … I promise you'll be alright after this."

[Ding! Medicinal Herb detected!]

[Item Identified: Duskroot Plant (Grade-A)]

[Effect: when applied to wounds, it accelerates recovery by 50%]

Oh, Medeia didn't expect there were still useful plants among the man-eating plants.

Unfortunately, the effectiveness came with a great pain.

Lucian didn't lie when he said it was going to hurt. She gritted her teeth as he scattered the dry plant on her wound.

The pain was not as bad as what Medeia often received from the demon king's abuse and punishment. However, she wasn't in her demon body now, so the pain affected her greatly.

"It's okay … it won't hurt anymore after a while." Lucian let Medeia grasp his arms and didn't move at all even though her nails dug into his skin.

The wound slowly closed as her health points increased. However, the pain didn't subside even a little bit so Medeia gritted her teeth from time to time.

Lucian let Medeia spit out the bitter leaf as her complexion improved. But to make her forget the pain, Lucian started a conversation with her. "Did you come here alone?"

Medeia shook her head. "No. I came here with my fellow villagers to hunt for food, but we got separated."

She told him what had happened to her before he came. She lowered her head and pretended to be sad when she said, "I'm afraid they won't make it."

Wasn't that good news?

If they died, Medeia would have a perfect reason to ask Lucian to take her back to her village.

How could he let a beautiful woman go home alone when she was injured?

"Where is your village?" asked Lucian.

See? No one would have the heart to leave a beautiful and weak woman alone.

After telling him where she lived, Medeia asked, "I am so sorry to ask this, but can you take me home? You can also stay in my village. The villagers will be happy to have a strong man like you around."

Before Lucian could answer, Medeia heard a familiar voice shout across the forest. "Miss Medeia! Miss Medeia! Is that you?!"

Oh, fuck off.

"Harry! Miss Medeia is still alive!" Naomi ran toward her. Her clothes were dirty in mud and soil, but she didn't have any wounds in her body.

Harry and Simon followed her. Both of them seemed concerned when they saw Medeia with a strange man.

"Miss Medeia, are you alright?" Simon observed her thoroughly. "Oh God! You got hurt!"

"I'm fine." Medeia answered him with a bit of bitter intonation.

"Tian! Where's my brother?" Ren looked around and immediately panicked when he couldn't find his brother.

"I've got separated from Tian in the tornado," replied Medeia.

"The falcon! Did you see the fal—oh, damn! Who killed it?!" Ren got freaked out as he saw a lifeless falcon with no head.

"I did."

Everyone turned their head toward Lucian and flabbergasted by his answer.

Harry, "You killed it alone?"

"Do you think I can help him take down the falcon?" Medeia pointed her finger to her wound.

"Well, I ... I don't know!" Harry asked Lucian, "I'm sorry, but who are you? How can you be with Medeia?"

Lucian smiled. "I'm Lucian. When I was looking for my dog, I saw Medeia almost being eaten by a falcon, so I helped her."

"Wait, you have a dog? In the apocalypse?" Naomi asked.

Simon, "Is it a mutant dog?"

Medeia suddenly got excited when she heard he had a dog. "Where is your dog?"

"Oh, please! Can we find the dog after we find Tian?!" Ren couldn't believe everyone had forgotten about his brother.
