"Relax, Raven. I'm only searching for my enemies," Ethan's voice resonated with a calming strength that put her at ease.
Ethan adjusted the brainwave amplifier. Instantly, he was transported into an abstract world where figures appeared as dense clusters of energy—some white, some red. Red signified beings with significant energy fluctuations.
"Smith," he whispered, focusing his mental search.
The figures and scenery whizzed past until he found Smith in a dark, confined room. Smith was bound to a chair, surrounded by armed men in black. Muffled voices reached his ears:
"Call the boss of the Osborn Group. We need him to pay a hefty sum to redeem this one."
"What about the super soldier serum?" a seductive voice interjected.
"Don't worry. We've infiltrated the Osborn Group and will steal the serum at the right moment. My ambition goes beyond the serum—I want all of Osborn's genetic modification technology," the man's voice was filled with a twisted enthusiasm.
"Do you think he'll really come for Smith?" the woman asked with a trace of doubt.
"Oh, he'll come," the man rasped. "The Viper Gang is prepared, right?"
"Yes, but Gwen's real identity as Ghost Spider complicates things. If we harm her, we might unleash something catastrophic," the woman said, her voice quivering.
Ethan smirked. He recognized the voices: Dr. Doom and Madame Viper. Their conspiracy aimed to kill Gwen and incite public outrage against him, painting him as a villain.
In a heartbeat, Ethan's telepathic power took control of the surrounding Viper Gang members. Before anyone could react, he forced them to turn their weapons on each other. The room erupted in chaos as gunfire rang out, silencing the armed men.
Smith, bound and helpless, lifted his eyes, catching sight of Ethan's figure. Relief washed over him.
"Mr. Hayes, is that you?" Smith's voice cracked.
"You've been through enough," Ethan replied.
Footsteps thundered outside as reinforcements rushed in. Ethan activated his Sling Ring, creating a shimmering portal behind Smith.
"Go," he commanded, kicking Smith through the portal and back to the safety of his office.
Turning back, Ethan faced Dr. Doom and Madame Viper. The room grew tense as dozens of guns were raised toward him.
"Dr. Doom, Madame Viper," Ethan said, taking a step forward. "Or should I say, Mrs. HYDRA? You plotted to kill my girlfriend for a mere sliver of genetic technology, and you sought to turn the public against me. You wanted a demon? You've found one."
Doom emerged from the shadows, his metallic face gleaming ominously. "Welcome, Ice Demon. You're far from home."
"Run," Ethan said softly, eyes gleaming with deadly promise. "Hunting time begins now."
With a single pulse of his telepathic power, the armed guards dropped lifelessly. Doom's eyes widened.
"This is your chance, Doom. You wanted me at odds with the world? Congratulations, you've succeeded. I'll be coming for you and everyone involved."
Ethan removed the brainwave amplifier, casting it aside. Turning to Raven, he said, "It's time."
Back in the Osborn office, Smith struggled to catch his breath, his body trembling. Raven untied him, saying, "Rest now, Smith. We'll handle the rest."
Smith's eyes were fierce with determination. "Mr. Hayes, I want to inject the super soldier serum. I'll pay any price."
"Rest first," Ethan said. "You've earned it. Guards will accompany you home."
Raven's expression shifted to concern. "Boos, should we send someone to Columbia University to protect Gwen?"
"No need," Ethan replied. "She'll be fine."
Through the window, they saw fighter jets approaching. A volley of missiles streaked toward them, their tails burning bright. Ethan's eyes glowed red as he unleashed a series of heat rays. The beams crisscrossed, slicing through the missiles and sending the jets crashing down in fiery explosions.
The rays refracted and surged through New York City, vaporizing the operatives who had conspired against him. In mere seconds, over 32,000 lives were extinguished—mercenaries, HYDRA agents, and the entire Viper Gang were no more.
Raven approached cautiously, watching as the broken window panes reassembled themselves with an eerie, twisting energy.
"Thirty-two thousand, six hundred lives," Ethan murmured, his voice cold and distant. The system's notification chimed in his mind:
Congratulations to the host for successfully creating his own Omega Rays (Beginner Level).
Raven's eyes reflected both awe and horror. "It's... beautiful," she whispered.
"Yes," Ethan replied. "And now, there are no enemies left in New York."
Just then, a figure in red and gold landed in front of the shattered window. Tony Stark, clad in his Iron Man suit, raised his arm, aiming directly at Ethan.
"Why?" Tony's voice, projected through the suit's speakers, trembled with rage. "Why did you kill Roddy?"
"Roddy?" Ethan echoed. "A shame. He must have been part of this operation."
Tony's repulsor glowed as he fired, the blast engulfing Ethan in a burst of energy. When the smoke cleared, Ethan stood unharmed.
"Have you finished?" he asked, voice steady.
J.A.R.V.I.S.'s warning blared inside Tony's helmet. "Temperature levels critical. System failure imminent."
Tony's suit locked up as a freezing force enveloped him. Immobilized, he could only listen as Ethan said, "Colonel Roddy made his choice and paid the price. Leave me be, Tony. You won't get a second warning."
With a flick of his fingers, Tony's armor was flung into the distance.
Ethan watched the sky, sensing the city's pulse—the chaos, the terror. He felt the surge of fear fueling his power, his Desire Points rising exponentially.
In a darkened S.H.I.E.L.D. command room, Nick Fury's voice cracked with rage. "This demon's gone too far. Prepare the Helicarrier. We're going to New York."
