Why Do You Want to Marry Me?

"You..." An Jian was the first to break the silence. He raised his hand and pointed a finger at Lin Xiao Feng. "What nonsense are you talking about? Lin Xiao Feng, I asked you to convince my younger sister that her idea was foolish. Why are you giving her ideas instead?"

Lin Xiao Feng ignored An Jian in front of him. His attention was solely on An Nuan. He was still waiting for her answer.

From the look of it, An Nuan was so shocked by his suggestion that she was unable to react.

He could understand what An Nuan was feeling. 

Lin Xiao Feng had to admit that his request was too sudden. 

"An Nuan," Lin Xiao Feng called when he saw that An Nuan had been silent for a long time. "Do you still want to go through with your plan?"

The question snapped An Nuan out of her trance. She thought about how Pei Zhi Yi had left her on their wedding day.

The urge to grab just anyone and marry that person intensified.

However, An Nuan could not imagine marrying Lin Xiao Feng.

"Lin Xiao Feng," An Nuan spoke after a while. "Why do you want to marry me?"

The two of them had known each other for a while. An Nuan was sure that Lin Xiao Feng should have someone that he liked.

At least, that was what she had heard.

"Let's talk," Lin Xiao Feng spoke. He glanced at both An Jian and Ren Di who stood beside An Nuan, wanting to convince her not to do anything stupid.

An Nuan followed Lin Xiao Feng's line of gaze before she nodded. "Alright."

She did not know why Lin Xiao Feng wanted to volunteer to be a substitute for Pei Zhi Yi. She needed to know what Lin Xiao Feng wanted to tell her.

"Hey!" An Jian called when he saw that Lin Xiao Feng was leading his younger sister out of the room. He grabbed Lin Xiao Feng's shoulder, preventing him from leaving. "Lin Xiao Feng, where are you going." His gaze shifted between Lin Xiao Feng and An Nuan. "The two of you... You cannot be serious."

"Elder Brother." An Nuan looked at An Jian's hand on Lin Xiao Feng's shoulder anxiously, worried that her elder brother was going to hurt this man.

Lin Xiao Feng raised a hand and glanced at An Nuan as if telling her not to step in. "Brother An Jian, let me talk to An Nuan first, alright?"

The two men stared at each other for a long time, having a silent confrontation. 

"Alright." An Jian nodded. "You can talk to her." In the end, An Jian gave in, thinking that Lin Xiao Feng was going to talk some sense into his younger sister. 

The An family was really close to the Lin's. 

An Jian did not think that Lin Xiao Feng would lead his younger sister astray, especially as he knew that the Lin family could be quite strict.

Lin Xiao Feng nodded at An Jian. Then, he turned around to leave the waiting room with An Nuan following him close.

The moment they stepped out of the waiting room, An Nuan could sense that everyone was looking at her. 

The guests were gathered outside the hall, wondering what was going on and why the wedding ceremony hadn't started yet.

By now, the story that Pei Zhi Yi had left had circulated among the guests.

An Nuan could sense that everyone was looking at her with their judging gaze.

They probably pitied her, knowing what happened.

Her steps halted. An Nuan could not move or take another step forward. Her chest heaved. Suddenly, An Nuan was finding it hard to breathe.

Facing the guests' inquiring gaze made her panic.

A warm touch around her wrist snapped her out of her trance.

An Nuan raised her head and met Lin Xiao Feng's assuring gaze.

"Come with me," Lin Xiao Feng spoke. He gave An Nuan's hand a gentle tug and took her in another direction.

Under the guests' watchful eyes, Lin Xiao Feng dragged An Nuan to another side. An Nuan followed Lin Xiao Feng without saying a word.

At this time, all An Nuan wanted to do was to get away from the guests' judging eyes.

They walked along the corridor before Lin Xiao Feng finally stopped.

An Nuan looked up and saw Lin Xiao Feng's best friend, Zhang Yu Han, standing in front of them. She looked at Lin Xiao Feng in puzzlement, wondering what this man was up to.

"Yu Han, lend me a room. A quiet place," Lin Xiao Feng spoke. "I need to speak to An Nuan privately."

It was then that An Nuan remembered that they were now in the Orchid Hotel. This hotel was under Zhang Group and Zhang Yu Han was the president of the company.

Zhang Yu Han gave his friend a lookover. His gaze finally stopped at Lin Xiao Feng's hand that was holding An Nuan's.

He had heard about what happened to An Nuan. He was one of the guests at An Nuan's wedding and happened to witness the scene where Pei Zhi Yi left An Nuan in front of their family and friends. 

Zhang Yu Han was ready to mobilize his staff to help the An family calm their guests.

He did not expect that he would see An Nuan and Lin Xiao Feng together.

"What's going on?" Zhang Yu Han asked. He felt that Lin Xiao Feng's request was too strange.

"I will explain to you later." Lin Xiao Feng looked into Zhang Yu Han's eyes, silently begging him to trust him without asking any questions. "You don't have to worry. An Nuan and I only need a place to talk."

Zhang Yu Han lowered his head and sighed. "Follow me." 

He did not know what Lin Xiao Feng wanted to say to An Nuan. The recent development made him worry.

Zhang Yu Han took Lin Xiao Feng to an empty meeting room. "You can go in and talk."

Lin Xiao Feng nodded. He patted Zhang Yu Han on the shoulder. "Thank you."
