Chapter 48. The Destroyer?

In the deep crevice formed by Noah's sword strike, the debris from the Destroyer began to shake slowly. Noticing that his mission remained incomplete, Noah stared in astonishment at the rift.

"What's wrong, sorcerer?" Thor asked, noticing Noah had turned to look back.

"A?"

Suddenly, Mjolnir began moving on its own, heading in that direction. Thor grabbed it tightly, leaving marks in the ground from his boots. The surface of the hammer glowed with golden light, which then shot towards the Destroyer. As the light faded, the hammer once again became calm. Thor looked at the crevice in surprise.

"What was that? Why did that come out of my hammer?"

Without responding to Thor, Noah felt a powerful energy emanating from the crevice where he had cast the Destroyer. This power was much stronger than before.

Recalling the light that had burst forth from the hammer, Noah wondered if it was Odin's divine power. He remembered feeling Odin's power within Mjolnir the first day he encountered it. But why had that power been released now? Could this be Odin's doing?

"Thor, something is off here. You need to take Jane and the others, including Nick Fury and his team, away from here."

Given that they had almost gotten hurt just recently, and now that the Destroyer was radiating even greater energy, Noah decided it was best to get all the civilians out of the area first. He wasn't worried about Tony—he could fly. The Asgardian warriors were also fine—their endurance allowed them to remain on the battlefield.

"What? What's going on?"

Thor wanted to ask Noah what was happening, as the Destroyer seemed to have been destroyed. But before he could speak, a golden light shot up from the crash site, radiating a majestic and heavy aura. The pillar of light raised a powerful wave that spread in all directions.

"Not again?"

The civilians raised their arms to shield their eyes from the sand and wind, but the waves were growing stronger, forcing them to struggle to keep their balance.

"Everyone, leave immediately! The enemy is still alive; this place is dangerous," Noah shouted, amplifying his voice with Lissandra's power. Nick Fury didn't argue and immediately ordered his agents to escort Jane and the others away.

"Jane, I'll find you soon," Thor said, swinging his hammer as she nodded.

Noah took a deep breath, pulled a mana potion from his bag, removed his helmet, and drank it. Realizing that a fierce battle was imminent, he decided to restore his full strength.

"Mr. Stark, you're not leaving? I won't be protecting you," Noah asked, seeing Tony still standing there.

"Noah, you'd better focus on the enemy. I might not have your kind of power, but Iron Man has his own tricks. And you know, Iron Man doesn't leave the battlefield."

"Great, are you Iron Man? I, Thor, like befriending brave warriors. Consider yourself my friend now," Thor said.

Noah was slightly taken aback, hearing himself called "kid," but he understood that he was only sixteen in this life, so it wasn't entirely inaccurate.

Under everyone's watchful gaze, the Destroyer finally emerged from the light pillar, revealing a new form.

"Father?" Thor gasped, seeing the Destroyer.

Yes, the Destroyer now looked quite different: it had shrunk from nine meters tall to about two meters, almost the same height as Thor. Despite the decrease in size, its presence had become far more intimidating. Thor felt his father's power emanating from the Destroyer. This form resembled a young Odin in armor.

Jarvis was continuously alerting Tony about the high energy levels ahead, advising him to retreat immediately. The four Asgardian warriors swallowed nervously, while Lissandra warned Noah of the significant energy activity within the Destroyer. Though the Destroyer appeared as his father, Thor sensed the enemy was prepared to strike.

As the Destroyer emerged from the light pillar, it began to fade, concentrating into the Destroyer's hand, forming a golden spear. Thor recognized the weapon.

"Gungnir? What is going on?" It was Odin's spear, and Thor was stunned.

The Destroyer had reached the peak of its power, signaled by the powerful airwaves lifting sand and dust that began to swirl around Nick Fury and his team, already halfway through their evacuation.

Seeing this, Noah pulled out another sword. This one was white, adorned with golden patterns, and set with a blue gem. It wasn't merely a weapon but a work of art.

This was Muramana. Just recently, Manamune had transformed into Muramana, now filled with magical power. Noah swung the sword toward the evacuees, summoning a powerful gust and forming a Wind Wall to shield them from the sand and dust. This trick from his arsenal was expertly executed thanks to his enhanced control over magic. Seeing that the sand was no longer a threat, the people continued their retreat.

"I'll go first," Thor said, swinging his hammer and charging toward the Destroyer with incredible speed. He aimed directly at it, hoping to strike the enemy with Mjolnir.

"Clang!"

A sharp sound echoed as metal struck metal. Mjolnir, which had always broken through barriers, was halted by the Destroyer's hand. The powerful blow didn't faze the enemy. Shocked, Thor tried to retrieve his hammer but couldn't.

Holding the spear in its other hand, the Destroyer struck Thor's face with a powerful blow, sending him flying alongside Mjolnir.

"What power," Noah couldn't help but admire the Destroyer's strength. It was the most formidable foe he had ever faced.

With two swords in hand, he charged into battle. In his left hand was Statikk Shiv, and in his right was Muramana. Although he hadn't summoned Yone and didn't master dual-wielding, he could still wield both swords in the attack.

As he approached the Destroyer, wind gathered around him, leaving a white trail behind—demonstrating his incredible speed. When he reached the enemy, his swords were fully charged, ready to strike with maximum force.

"Double Steel Tempest!"

The energies of the swords, enveloped in whirling winds and crackling lightning, rapidly crossed to form a massive cross of destructive energy directed at the Destroyer. The Destroyer tightly gripped its spear, and from its tip burst a golden beam, clashing with Noah's swords. For a moment, they held evenly, but then the beam pierced through the swords and shot straight at Noah.

Although weakened by the clash, Noah swiftly raised a sword, creating a massive Wind Wall infused with yellow lightning in front of him. The beam, unable to penetrate the wall, dissipated into the air.

Noah charged again, his swords clashing with the Destroyer's spear, but at that moment, Thor's hammer, flying from the right, smashed into the Destroyer and knocked it to the side.

Thor caught his returning hammer, raised it to the sky, and called down lightning, which struck the Destroyer directly. Flashes of electricity and loud thunder illuminated the battlefield, but as the white smoke cleared, the Destroyer reappeared, unharmed.

"How durable," Noah muttered, watching the intact Destroyer.

"Does it hold that much of Odin's power?"

He stepped back, and his armor began to retract, revealing a bronze gauntlet on his left hand. This was an artifact Noah had obtained by summoning Ezreal, and he could call upon it anytime.

"It seems this will be a long battle. Thor, can you handle it?"

"Of course, I've been through many battles!"

Noah began concentrating energy into his left hand, and the gauntlet glowed brightly.
