Chapter 288: Daily Life – Small Broken Boat for Sale at a Low Price of 200,000 Berries

Anie is a friend of Gewo, and also a middle-aged man in his forties.

Upon hearing Gewo's anxious voice, Anie walked out of the cabin with a look on his face that seemed to say, "Are you kidding me?" He said, "What nonsense are you talking about? Do you think I'm that gullible? A giant stick chasing three men? Who are you trying to fool? Did the stick come to life?"

"No, I'm serious. Look, right over there." Gewo quickly pointed toward Takumi and his group.

At the same time, the Golden Staff had already returned to its original size as it neared Enel, following his will.

"Yahahahaha, I knew it!" Enel, now brimming with excitement, laughed loudly, "This pole—no, the Golden Staff—is such a magnificent item. Yahahaha, only a weapon like this is worthy of a god like me!"

"You sure change your mood quickly…" Kaku chuckled, shaking his head.

Takumi paid no attention to them and landed on the deck of the fishing boat ahead of the others.

As Anie followed Gewo's gesture, he saw that Takumi and the others had already landed on the boat's deck. As for the so-called giant stick, where was it? There was no sign of any other boat nearby, only their own fishing boat. Surprised by their sudden appearance, Anie asked, "What's going on with you three? How did you end up on my boat out of nowhere?"

Kaku smiled and explained, "We're just some unfortunate souls who survived a shipwreck. The tallest one here is Enel, a Devil Fruit user, and he brought us here."

"A Devil Fruit user?" Anie was taken aback. "This is the first time I've seen a real one. I've heard that eating a Devil Fruit makes you unable to swim—is that true?"

"That's right," Kaku replied with a smile, "so could you give us a ride to the nearest island?"

"Sure, we're heading back anyway," Anie said while rubbing his chin, glancing at Takumi and his companions. Then, with a sly smile, he added, "But we don't offer free rides. I won't charge you too much—just 1,000 Berries."

Though 1,000 Berries wasn't a large sum, for Kaku and the others, who had lost their ship, it was a significant amount. Just as Kaku was about to haggle, Takumi directly tossed a pouch with exactly 1,000 Berries to Anie.

Kaku, surprised by Takumi's actions, was about to comment on how wasteful that was but remembered the beating Enel had taken and swallowed his words.

Anie quickly grabbed the pouch, counted the money, and beamed. "Alright, let's set sail to Buggy Island. With favorable winds, we'll arrive in about an hour and a half. If you three need to rest, feel free to head into the cabin."

As soon as he finished speaking, Takumi was the first to walk into the cabin without hesitation.

Meanwhile, Enel was still on the deck, happily playing with the Golden Staff.

Kaku chuckled and said nothing more.

Gewo, however, kept his eyes fixed on the Golden Staff in Enel's hands. Although Anie hadn't seen it, Gewo had clearly witnessed the enormous stick shrinking as it approached this tall man. Moreover, they hadn't been brought here by the tall man at all; Gewo had seen them running across the air to reach the boat!

"Anie, I swear I'm telling the truth. You've got to believe me," Gewo whispered into Anie's ear.

Anie gave him an exasperated look. "Alright, alright, I almost believed you. Fine, I'll give you half of the 1,000 Berries we just earned."

Gewo laughed bitterly, "That's not what I meant…"

"Oh, if you don't want it, then never mind," Anie said.

"Ahem, I didn't say I didn't want it... You should give me half after all," Gewo quickly added.

Neither Enel nor Kaku paid much attention to the two men's conversation.

When Kaku made his way toward the cabin, Enel blocked his path with the Golden Staff, grinning mischievously. "Long nose, why don't we have a fight? Let's test out my new weapon."

Kaku chuckled dismissively. "This isn't our boat. If we break anything, we'll have to pay for it. Do you have the money for that?"

"Money? That's no problem for a god like me!" Enel boasted, pulling out a small piece of his golden staff's remains.

Even though only a small chunk was left, it was still quite valuable in this world.

Upon seeing the gold, Anie's eyes lit up with greed. He regretted not asking for more money earlier when he realized how wealthy they were.

Suddenly, an idea came to him, and with a scheming smile, he said, "Meeting you three feels like fate. I sympathize with your situation after the shipwreck. How about this? If you need a boat, I can sell you this fishing boat at a discount. Otherwise, once you get to Buggy Island, the price of a new or even a second-hand boat will be much higher. I guarantee my price is far lower than any second-hand boat you'll find on the island."

Enel glanced at the small fishing boat and then turned to Anie, sneering. "This broken boat? Not worthy of a god like me."

Anie's smile froze on his face.

Kaku, meanwhile, inspected the boat closely and asked, "How much are you selling it for?"

Sensing a chance, Anie quickly responded, "200,000 Berries! That's already dirt cheap. When we get to Buggy Island, you can ask around, but I promise you won't find a cheaper boat with this size and quality!"

"200,000 Berries, huh?" Kaku scratched his chin and leapt onto the roof of the cabin, surveying the boat from above. He knocked on different parts of the boat, checking its condition.

Anie was puzzled. "What's he doing?"

Enel, with a bored expression, said, "Obviously, he's inspecting the boat."

"Huh?" Anie was shocked. "He knows about boats?"

Enel glanced at Anie as if he were an idiot. "Are you dumb? He's a shipwright. What kind of shipwright doesn't know boats?"

Anie wiped the sweat from his brow. "You never told me he was a shipwright."

In just a few moments, Kaku returned.

"This boat isn't worth 200,000 Berries," Kaku said flatly.

Anie was stunned and laughed awkwardly, "How could it not be worth 200,000? Sure, it's old, but the quality is solid! Where else can you get a boat this big and this good for only 200,000? Come on, it's a steal at this price, and you guys are rich, right? It's just 200,000—you won't regret it!"
