The Accidental Model

Amara couldn't believe her life had come to this. Standing in the middle of a swanky photo studio, trying to look casual, while a small army of makeup artists and stylists swarmed around Elara. If there was ever a moment that screamed "this is a bad idea," it was now.

"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Amara whispered, her voice tense with disbelief.

[Oh, don't worry. It's definitely a bad idea. But isn't that your specialty at this point?]

"Shut up," she muttered to the system, but it wasn't like anyone else could hear it. They'd probably just think she was talking to herself which, honestly, wouldn't be the weirdest thing about today.

The plan had been simple: Elara was supposed to have another photoshoot, this time paired with some big-name male model who'd no doubt spend the entire time flexing and staring at himself in the nearest reflective surface. Easy enough, right?

Wrong.
