To everyone in the room's surprise it was Ash who responded to Brendan, possibly trying to smooth things over between them.

"Look at me and Christina, we are a love match, you never know until you ask. If you truly love Lithe you should defy your parents and just marry Lithe."

He was interceding on Brian's behalf because since he was marrying Christina and bigamy wasn't a thing in the Allerdyce continent.
