Elian stood outside the room, his mind awash with confusion.

The text from Hirvan had been strange, to say the least. Just an hour ago, Hirvan was happily spending time with the grandson of Chief Constable Fu and his family. What could have happened to change everything so quickly?

He watched as Hirvan emerged from his room, and without wasting a moment, Elian closed the distance between them. His movements were swift, his urgency clear.

"What happened?" 

Elian demanded, his voice edged with concern. 

"Why did you decide to go back home? Did someone bother you?"
