Black Market

Bernard saw his smug look and asked in confusion, "What is a tip?"

Heizen almost tripped. He forgot that those terms were new in this fantasy land.

"Haha, nothing. I was just giving him extra money for a good service." He awkwardly explained. Most likely, that waiter didn't understand it either. His effort was in vain.

"You sure are rich. 100 mana crystals for a single meal. I will never do that even if I have money." Bernard said.

"Yeah!" Bowen rarely showed his view.

Heizen looked at Bowen who was agreeing with Bernard and rolled his eyes.

When they arrived at an empty alley, he took out two rings from his pocket and gave them one each.

"There are 1000 mana crystals. I sold Obsidian Heart at 5000 mana crystals. This is your share."

"So many?" Bernard excitedly said and accepted the ring. Heizen learned this way of sharing from Henry. Anyway, he had a lot of mana rings, and giving each one wouldn't matter.

He then looked at Bowen who accepted the ring and said, "You can treat your sister Elara a good food. Delicious food can easily bring siblings together."

Previously, he thought of saving Elara with his Life Insignia. However, he lost it in the dungeon. As for the Vital surge spell, Bowen said a normal spell couldn't cure her disease.

"Yeah!" Bowen nodded to express his understanding.

"Then, let's go to the Black Market now. It is already evening and the market is now open." Bernard said hurriedly. Their plan for today was to sell the loot.

"Wait!" Heizen stopped him and took out the dark robe and a mask.

"Do you have them?" He asked while wearing them.

Bernard rolled his eyes, "Why hurry?" He said but still wear the disguise along with Bowen.

"Then, let's go," Heizen said and walked in front.

Bernard followed him and asked, "Do you know where the black market is?" He was unsure.

Heizen almost cursed.

"Uhum, I know it is in this market. Why don't you show me the way." He coughed and stepped aside slightly.

"Haha, I will show you the path, then." Bernard laughed and hugged him with his one arm and dragged him to the corner of the market.

After walking for a few minutes, they arrived at a small tavern in a shadowy alley. Bernard went forward and knocked on the door.

After a while, a burly figure pushed open the door and looked at them.

Seeing that no one talked, he said, "3 mana-crystals."

Bernard took out the already prepared mana crystals and followed the man into the Tavern. After going through the narrow corridor, the man led them to a door.

"You can go by yourself. Don't forget to close the door." After giving simple instructions, he left.

Bernard remained silent as he pushed the heavy oak door. Behind, there was a steep stairway that led underground.

"Okay, let's go." He entered and finally closed the door.

The dark staircase wasn't long and they quickly arrived at a huge hall. The size was almost the size of the market above with the same hustle and bustle.

The only difference was that everyone, including vendors, was wearing dark robes and masks to hide their figures. Few people who didn't hide seemed to have a solid identity.

"Let's first sell our goods. We can rent a shop at 10 Mana crystals." Bernard said and led them to a small cottage next to the door.

After paying the mana crystals, they get a token with a number. When they arrived at their assigned shop, they saw a small tent with one table at the side of the pavement. There were many such tents around occupied by other vendors.

Bernard skillfully cleaned the table and began to take out the armor, potion, herb, along other miscellaneous things. He seemed to have experience.

After thinking for a while, Heizen transferred his goods into a new mana ring and gave it to Bernard.

"I have something to do. Can you help me sell them? You can give my share afterward."

Heizen was about to attend the auction. Moreover, he wanted to stroll around to see if he could pick up leeks.

"Okay," Bernard readily agreed. There was no need for 3 people to stand in front of a stall. It would instead be counterproductive.

Heizen thanked him and went outside. After choosing a direction, he slowly walked toward the center of the Black Market.

Along the way, he saw many small tents where people were selling various stuff. Most of them were shady stuff that couldn't be sold openly. There were also many people haggling and buying.

Heizen also looked through them but didn't find anything interesting. So, he changed his direction and went towards the larger shop when suddenly he heard the system prompt in his mind.

 [Ding!]

[Good Luck Favors you.]

[Go to the Apothecary shop and get an Elixir of Night vision.]

[Go to the Relic Shop and get a Runed Map and a Summoning Crystal.]

Hearing the prompts, Heizen was in a good mood. Finally, his system was working properly.

Without delay, he went to the Apothecary shop at the side. This was an old shop with a lot of potions on display. Mana potion, Stamina potion, Vigour potion, Beast transformation potion, etc., you name it. Everything was there.

When Heizen arrived at the shop, the Shopkeeper was yelling at a servant.

"Didn't I tell you to throw those potions away? Why are you still waddling?"

"Sorry, sorry." The servant apparently forgot to throw the useless potions.

Heizen looked at the basket full of weird bottles and glasses in different colors. Most of them smelled bad and looked damaged. But he had a gut feeling that Elixir of Night Vision was in there. Otherwise, he couldn't understand how that would be his good luck.

"Hey, shopkeeper, why are you yelling at your servant? Let me help you throw them away. I will even give you 2 mana crystals." Heizen hurriedly said and stuffed all the items from the basket into his mana ring.

After that, he placed the two crystals on the table and quickly left. The shopkeeper looked at his leaving figure and cursed under his breath,

"Gambler."

Heizen wasn't the only one who tried their luck in those baskets. But he surely was a weird one.
