Ch-4 < K-423 birth >

One Month Later

Kevin had been keeping a close watch on the research lab where Schicksal scientists were conducting experiments on the Core of the Void and working on cloning projects. His information network, consisting of individuals he had placed under illusions, brought back unsettling news: the project had now reached the K400 series.

Kevin's knowing how unethical these experiments were. But he couldn't intervene—not yet. He knew that the birth of the "cute protagonist" was crucial; any interference might cause a catastrophic butterfly effect. This thought weighed heavily on him as he moved forward with his mission.

Life at the Kaslana household had taken on a new rhythm, with Kevin becoming an integral part of Siegfried and Kiana's daily lives.

One day, Kevin decided to cook a meal for them. When he first presented the dish, it didn't look particularly appetizing.

The food had a strange appearance, which made Siegfried and Kiana hesitant to try it. But Kevin insisted, "Just take a bite; you might be surprised."

Reluctantly, they each took a small bite. The moment the flavors hit their tongues, Siegfried's eyes widened in disbelief. "Are you sure you're a Kaslana? This… this is incredible!" he exclaimed, caught off guard by the deliciousness of the dish.

Kiana, with her bright, sparkling eyes, was even more enthusiastic. "Kebin, it's so tasty! Can you cook for me every day?" she asked, looking up at him with hopeful eyes.

Kevin smiled warmly at her. "Of course, Kiana. I'll make you snacks every day," he replied, ruffling her hair gently.

True to his word, Kevin began preparing daily snacks for Kiana. Unbeknownst to Siegfried and Kiana, he was adding a very small, purified amount of Honkai beast meat into her food. It was a carefully calculated move, designed to strengthen Kiana without causing her any harm.

He then used purification on her make sure that the meat is completely digested without harming her.

Two weeks had passed, and Kevin's informants brought him the news he had been waiting for. The core of the Void had finally become compatible with K423, and she had opened her eyes for the first time.

Kiana's birthday was only a month away, and Kevin knew this would be the perfect time to execute his plan to attack the Schicksal lab and retrieve K423.

But first, he had other matters to attend to. Kevin set off to buy a birthday present for Kiana. After searching through several shops, he picked out a home doll, some cute clothes, a variety of sweet candies, and two light swords. He wanted the day to be special for her.

Meanwhile, in a far-off location, a young nun who looked no older than thirteen was keeping a close eye on Kevin. Using binoculars, she watched his every move.

Her white hair blew gently in the wind as she scrutinized him from a distance. "So that's the guy who's been living in Siegfried's house and teaching my niece. Silver hair, that build… he certainly feels like a seasoned warrior," she murmured to herself.

Just as Theresa was deep in thought, Kevin suddenly turned his head and locked eyes with her—despite the fact that she was watching him from over two kilometers away.

A shiver ran down her spine as she saw him smile at her before vanishing into thin air. No matter how hard she searched, Kevin was nowhere to be found.

Back at the Kaslana household, Kevin entered the front door, his mind still preoccupied with the encounter. "What was that legal loli planning, watching me from afar?" he wondered to himself, bemused by Theresa's surveillance.

As soon as he stepped inside, he was greeted by an enthusiastic Kiana who pounced on him like a tiny whirlwind. "Kebin! You're back!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with excitement.

Kevin smiled and handed her the sweets and dolls he had bought. Her face lit up with joy as she eagerly took the gifts. "Thank you, Kebin! They're so cute!" she said, hugging the dolls tightly.

Kevin chuckled, watching her happy reaction. "You're welcome, Kiana. Now, why don't we head to the living room? I've got something else for you there," he said, leading her to where Siegfried had ordered dinner for them.

The three of them sat down to eat, the warmth and comfort of their little family filling the room.
