That afternoon, dozens of carriages approached the gate of Slumdon Town, causing a stir among the city's residents. They hadn't seen traders or such a large group pass through in a long time. The sheer number of carriages was so overwhelming that some might have mistaken it for an army preparing for war.
"What is that?" one resident asked.
"Those are the materials the Lord ordered to start the city-building process," one of the workers replied.
"Are you kidding me? Did the Baron really spend that much money to build this city?" another resident exclaimed.
"This is unbelievable," another said. "I can't believe this."
"I thought he had some ulterior motive, like enslaving us or something, but he's proven himself true to his word."
"But we'll have to see what he does next, right? At least the current Lord is really showing his efforts," another person replied, swallowing hard. "I regret not taking his offer seriously yesterday."
