Ch 51: What you promised

The air turned awkward after that. 

Rika continued to concentrate on her puppy without a name as it tugged her to follow behind it.

Damian was a silent figure who followed her to her dorm. But he did not come inside or even pretend that he wanted to go with Rika.

He continued to look at her, and if it had been anyone else, Rika would be sure they wanted to be welcomed in.

But this was Damian, so Rika knew that was not the case.

"Have a pleasant night out, Damian. And give Emily my regards. I am unsure what keeps her busy, but she should not be over-working herself."

Rika waved Damian goodbye and did not expect to hear from him again.

Surprisingly enough, she got a message from him seconds after she closed the room.

[Emily is preparing to take over her father's position as the CEO. She will be a little busy these days.]

This was news to Rika, but she did not feel as shocked to know this as people would expect.
