The message from the letters

As the chilly wind blew, it ruffled the scrolls that Virtya was holding but that didn't stop him from reading the messages from them.

The messenger had actually handed two letters to Virtya. The first letter had an insignia of the royal palace of Magyo kingdom while the second letter had an insignia of the blacksmithing guild of Whiddiff city.

On the first letter which was definitely coming from the king of Magyo kingdom, it explained that it had now reached a time for Virtya to hand over Azuhai kingdom to them and failure to do that would result in unforeseeable consequences. The letter went down telling him how Virtya would benefit if he allowed this merger to ensue without a war happening and it also explained what he would lose if he rejected to adhere to their proposal.

Actually, the palace of Magyo was very very far away in the Magyo kingdom and Virtya knew that it would take six months for this letter to reach to him from the Magyo royal palace thus, this meant that king Brisbois wrote this letter last year at around the month of November.

Right now, king Brisbois will once again have to wait for six months to receive a response from Virtya and if Virtya had refused to adhere to whatever they had told him, king Brisbois would have to prepare to face him but if Virtya had agreed without a scuffle, then a peaceful deal would be made after a year to finalize this merger. All this information Virtya knew what it meant.

"So, after a year, we will meet again. Interesting. I am awaiting to give you a surprise." Virtya murmured. He was not planning to give this kingdom to his father in law. No. That would be like abandoning his aim of improving this kingdom to modern standards and Virtya was not ready to do that, he couldn't imagine living the whole of his life in a backward world, that would make him insane because of his conviction to bring about technological advancement to this world.

Virtya ripped apart the letter from Magyo kingdom and threw the ripped pieces at the bonfire that was burning behind him.

"Let's see what is written in the second letter." Virtya opened the letter and saw that it was from the blacksmithing guild.

Apparently, Nataschenka (blacksmithing guild master) was calling for his intervention because the kingdom of Litkesh had stopped the sale of iron ingots to the Azuhai kingdom.

After all, Azuhai kingdom depended heavily on the Litkesh kingdom to get iron ingots so that they could fabricate iron items especially at this time, iron was heavily needed to fabricate the farm tools like the plough but if the flow of iron ingots from Litkesh kingdom had been halted, then Virtya would be in a huge trouble. He would not get the income from the sale of the ox drawn plough because they were not being produced as there was no raw materials needed which will bring about a temporary closure of the blacksmithing guild.

However Virtya was not ready for this.

He kicked the pole beside him and ripped the scroll in his hand before throwing it to flames.

"What is it your majesty?" Tanya asked while Alexandre remained silent as he waited for Virtya to tell them what it was that had made him that agitated.

Virtya stabilized his rugged breathing and stopped kicking the pole before him as he forced himself to calm down. He then rubbed his hair and stared at Tanya in the face.

"It's all bad news for us. First, king Brisbois wants me to sell this kingdom to him without a fight. Do you think he is crazy! I Virtya would not give up on this kingdom. I will make sure to bring hell upon the kingdom of Magyo. In future, Magyo kingdom would be added to our map. King Brisbois could only blame himself for being an audacious dimwit. The kingdom of Magyo has got so many minerals ranging from copper, iron, gold, diamond, saltpeter, sulphur, salt, fertile lands and so on...I think the heavens have accepted to gift me this Magyo kingdom. Our kingdom doesn't have enough resources but we will rectify this problem when the time comes to conquer Magyo kingdom." Virtya's eyes were popping as he said this in a low voice. He was both mad and agitated because king Brisbois' order had opened his eyes. He was just thinking of where he would get some minerals like iron but the Magyo kingdom handed themselves to him. Actually, Virtya was not crazy for being this exited at king Brisbois' ridiculous order because he had the modern technology. He was going to fabricate modern weapons and see how king Brisbois' forces would fare against this surprise.

If it was Virtya's predecessor, king Brisbois would have prevailed easily in the upcoming war but it was Virtya from the modern world. Virtya had watched so many military movies in his past life and he was sure that a weapon like the cannon or a riffle would be enough to bring hell upon Magyo's forces that depended hugely on stupid weapons like the swords and the arrows.

Virtya wanted to see between a bullet and an arrow, which one among them was powerful.
