It's just the beginning of your tears

Leticia'a heart started to pound like crazy. When he looked up at her, she literally flinched on her seat. Gone was the eagerness in his eyes. He now looked like he had a death intent.

"Why did you poison my drink?" He finally spoke and Leticia blinked. That is a straight accusation! It is not poison. "I... d-didn't" Her voice came out in a whisper.

Devon scoffed, "Wow. You even have the guts to lie to my face."

"I am not lying." Leticia tried to defend herself. Devon smirked, "Still a lie"

Leticia knew it. 'No way out. I'm dead. Officially. Lord God. I am being tagged as a murderer. Wait... How did he even know? Did he see me?...' Different thoughts ran through her mind as Devon's gaze kept burning a hole on her head. She could cry right now.

She bit her lower lip. Devon stared at her. Seems to be a novice in the job. She's trembling and teary already. Too bad a beautiful girl like her came to play a death game, and she lost...

" Who sent you? " Devon asked. Leticia shook her head.

" Oh. So you just decided to kill me on your own accord. Cruel "

Leticia couldn't help but wail internally 'what sort of mess have i gotten myself into. '

" SPEAK UP! NOW! "He yelled at her, his deep voice accompanied with anger. Leticia flinched, a single tear rolling down her cheek." B-but, it's... It's not poison. "

Cocking a brow, he passed the drink to her, an evil smile appearing on his face. Her eyes widened. He gestured and she shakily collected the drink "Go on. Finish it up" He said and the smile was no longer on his face, just a burning gaze and a scowling expression.

Leticia wanted to burst out crying, but knowing it would change nothing, she didn't. Is it really poison? Did Manuel lie to her? How could he? She'd trusted him.

"Too scared?" he asked. Leticia stubbornly shook her head and raised the cup to her lips. Devon watched her intently. A merciless tint lurked in his angry red eyes. She felt a single chill run down to her legs yet she couldn't drink the wine. What if it was really poison and she died?

"You can't, which confirms you really poisoned it." Devon stated in the most relaxed manner, crossing his strong long legs and the corner of his lips in a smirk.

Leticia lowered the glass, fresh tears filling her eyes. If only she could call Manuel...

"For the fourth and last time, who sent you?"

Leticia looked away. Even though Manuel put her in this mess, she didn't want to implicate him. If she does, how would they get out?

" I could find out myself but it'll just add to your own punishments. So talk now." He threatened and he sounded really serious about it.

Leticia's eyes widened. Punishments!!?

Noticing her expression, "Or you think I'll let you go scot free?" he scoffed with a dark chuckle.

"Please ... Please I'm begging you, Mr Dwayne, please" She didn't know when the plea left her mouth .

Devon smiled,"You should have thought about the implications before you deceived to waltz in here."

A sob escaped her lips and Devon looked away. "it's just the beginning of your tears, darling."

Devon picked his phone and called someone. "Come and pick her up. " he said in a chilly tone and cut the call immediately. He glared at her "Up!" He ordered. Leticia was still sobbing.

"Up on your feet now! " he growled because she was testing his patience.

Stubbornly, she shook her head. Devon clenched his jaws and yanked her up by her arm, bellowing, "How dare you disobey me!!"

Leticia sniffed, eyes red and puffy as she shook her head, her throat was too dry for her to talk. It's officially the end of her life!

Devon pulled her out of the room. His grip was tight. So tight it ceased blood flow in that area and she began to get muscle cramps. "L-l let go." She croaked but he didn't even listen.

He just pulled her along. Leticia was tripping but he was dragging her without a care. It's a miracle her arm didn't fall off.

"It hurts!" she cried but he snapped,"Shut up!"

Just then, a guy walked up to them. Leticia recognised him as Luis, the guy from earlier. A look of ' I knew it! ' crossed his face but disappeared just as quickly.

His eyes fell on crying Leticia and then Devon. He creased his brows. "Is everything ok?"

Obviously not. Devon tossed Leticia to Luis ,"Take care of her". He growled angrily before storming away.

Fear gripped Leticia's heart. T-take c-care? She gave Luis a look of horror, shaking her head frantically.

Luis had his polite smile on. "Follow me, Miss." Luis said and walked away. Leticia rushed after him, afraid he might decide to start dragging her also.

They came to a door. It was wooden compared to the rest. He opened it and it made a loud creaking sound but Leticia felt too numb to react. She couldn't see anything in there. It was pitch black.

Before she could start begging Luis not to kill her, he got behind her and a force pushed her in.

Before the door banged close, she heard him say "I actually neve thought you were one of them. Goodnight." and GBBAAMM, the door banged close.

Leticia quickly tried to open it but it was futile. "Sir! Sir! Mr Luis, please sir, I'm sorry please. Sir... Open the door... Please." She cried hopelessly.

Slumping against the door and falling on her butt. Head on her knees and she began the tears saga.

Why? She shouldn't have agreed to help Manuel. But he's her friend, he helped her and her family financially. In fact, the main reason she agreed to do this was because he promised to help her with something really important. She couldn't resist that.

But now, she won't even see her family, Manuel, and probably the sun also because it's freaking dark here.

"i'm sorry, Mr Devon. Just forgive me" She cried.

"She tried to poison him" A cool male voice said. The owner of the voice sat on one of the gold sofas, his white outfit as clean as ever.

"Great, seems like he's not coming home tonight" Another said. This one was quite different. His voice was bubbly and lively.

"He looked angrier than he usually is. He finds it fascinating his enemies sends girls to poison him but this one made him exceptionally angry." The cool one said, his brows now creased as it usually does if he's amused or in thoughts.

"Hmn. He looked as though he could murder anyone so i had to end the party abruptly." The other guy said, running his long fingers through his soft blond hair. "I wonder what he's going to do to her. The Devon I know would end her immediately." The lively blond added.

The cool guy shrugged. "Won't you say anything, Princess?" The blond grinned at a guy with black hair staring blankly at his phone. He didn't even glance at him.

"Come on, Princess. Say something!!! "The blond whined.

"He won't talk. " The cool guy rolled his light red eyes. "And quit calling him princess"

The blond huffed. "i'm going out. It's boring in here" hoping on to his feet.

"Sure"

"Bye Luis, bye princess "The guy waved and Luis waved back." Bye. "

But' princess ' didn't look up. He and Luis sat in silence. After a while, Luis said " i'm going in. "

' Princess ' merely shrugged .

Devon glared at air. It isn't the first time anyone would send someone to poison him, but this...

Whoever did this has an ulterior motive apart from trying to kill him. Obviously, no one would send a naiveté like Leticia to poison someone like him, unless such person wants to get rid of... Oh. It now dawned on him.

He smirked at the realization. "Such a twisted plan". He didn't even bother to find out who. Probably one of his numerous enemies. He has lots of them, always ready to strike from the shadows. Only the few bold and daring ones faces him.

As for the girl... She must have been paid a light amount of money to do this. He wanted to just end her like he does to the others. No hesitation. And that's what he's gonna do. In fact, he'll make her suffer before killing her.

He'll punish her so mercilessly that whoever sent her would pity her.
