Title - Recovery, Retrospection and Timeskip 3
…
[]All-Father:[] Greetings, fellow deities! How fare you all today?
"Hmm?" Leucadius who just picked up his phone due to the *Ding* sound hummed in surprise at seeing Odin initiate a conversation in the Godkings group chat.
[]The Most High:[] All is well, All-Father. Just finished dealing with a minor skirmish in the mortal realm. What about you?
[]Thunder King:[] I had to calm a storm on Mount Olympus. The mortals were complaining about too much rain. They should be grateful I'm not throwing lightning bolts!
"Typical Zeus." Leucadius said and turned to the third occupant of the room besides him and Aspect. "Go and do something by yourself. Self study or something."
"Huh? But I just got here."
"Exactly, now shoo." Leucadius waved her away and turned to his phone, totally ignoring the girl that would one day become the sorcerer supreme.
[]Great Preserver:[] I've been maintaining the balance of the Realms, as always. It's a thankless job, but someone has to do it.
[]Master of Destruction:[] I accidentally destroyed a mountain during meditation. Guess I was a bit too focused on my mantra.
[]Creator of Worlds:[] Typical, Shiva. I've been busy crafting a new world. It's coming along nicely, though I could use some input on the flora and fauna.
[]The Most High:[] Don't you have some minor Gods majoring in agriculture or something?
[]Creator of Worlds:[] We do, but I am not keen on any external assistance during my personal projects.
"I see." Was all Leucadius said without really typing it.
[]Solar Lord:[] Sounds fascinating, Brahma. I just had to rekindle the sun. It was dimming a bit too much for my liking.
[]Sun Goddess:[] Rekindling the sun, Ra? I thought that was my job! Perhaps we should coordinate our solar duties more closely.
Leucadius didn't even bother to read meaning into these words as he felt he'd lose a few brain cells. He held no divinity so he didn't really understand what these Gods talked about sometimes.
He was clear on the fact that in this Galaxy, these Gods held a supreme rule over Their respective Laws or Divinity.
[]Jade Emperor:[] Coordination is key. Speaking of which, I've been overseeing the celestial bureaucracy. A new star has emerged in the northern sky—quite a sight.
[]Spider Trickster:[] While you all were busy with your grand tasks, I spun a web so intricate, it caught the attention of mortals and gods alike. They called it the Spider's Palace.
[]The Most High:[] Oh? Have you moved location finally?
[] Spider Trickster:[] Nah, I'm too lazy to move from Ogun. Not to mention the recent visitor in my territory @Solar Lord
[]Solar Lord:[] What?
"Aspect, is Anansi possibly talking about Bast?" Leucadius turned to Aspect who also had a phone in his hand.
"Positive. But considering the disparity in strength, he can only complain to Ra than take action or even ask for help due to the implications." Aspect replied.
"Heh, the woes of being weak." Leucadius said and turned his attention back to the girl. "Tilda, sulking over there won't help you achieve what it is you're trying to achieve."
"What would you know?" Tilda shot Leucadius a side eye and scoffed before walking away.
"That girl…" Leucadius sighed. Tilda Eldridge, a recently orphaned girl and sole survivor of a Mystic Arts Family on Earth. Similar to the China Region and their sects, the Murim region and their alliances, the European regions also had their families.
Just like how there's the orthodox and unorthodox alliances in Murim or the Korean region, the Sects and their demonic counterparts, the Mystic Arts community also had their Dark counterparts.
The Eldridge family were just unfortunate to be the victim of a wipeout to reduce the strength of the Mystic Arts society.
The current sorcerer supreme using the Eyes of Agamotto happened to arrive at the right moment to rescue the young Tilda. Leucadius wasn't against such manipulative tactics in the slightest, after all, in order to have someone work for you while being indebted to you, it was advised that you appear to them when they need help the most.
Due to his already long existence on Earth, he wasn't able to escape the eyes of the Various societies. The current sorcerer supreme, under the guidance of Agamotto, brought her over and asked Leucadius to be her mentor.
Coincidentally, Oshtur also appeared to him in a dream and asked him to do her a favor by teaching Tilda all he could about the Mystic Arts.
Leucadius, of course refused but after hundreds of years spent in the dreamscape, Leucadius who missed reality could only reluctantly agree.
"Whatever." He said with a sigh and turned to the group chat.
[]All-Father:[] Rekindling the sun and spinning webs—impressive! Any comical achievements recently?
[]The Most High:[] I turned a mortal king's crown into pure starlight. He now believes he's the chosen one. The look on his face was priceless!
Leucadius wrote. He didn't really do it, but as a previous Human, who didn't like living a fake life every once in a while?
[]Thunder King:[] I once turned an entire herd of sheep into gold. The shepherds thought they were blessed by the gods.
'Of course, in the case of Zeus, anything he says is true.' Leucadius thought with a wry smile.
[]Great Preserver:[] I once appeared to an entire village as a vision, promising prosperity if they worked together. They thrived for generations after.
[]The Most High:[] That's normal. Humans like to believe in things they don't understand. Only then can they come together to achieve anything..
[] All-Father:[] Truly. They're a unique race I can never fully understand.
[]Master of Destruction:[] During one of my meditations, I accidentally vaporized a mountain. It's now considered a holy site by the mortals.
[]Creator of Worlds:[] I once created a species of sentient beings that worshiped me as their creator. They built magnificent temples in my honor.
[]The Most High:[] On Earth?
[]Creator of Worlds:[] No. On a distant planet called Asterion. It's almost a Copy of Earth, only that it lacks Divine interference.
"Oh…that's a good thing then." Leucadius said to himself.
[]Solar Lord:[] I caused a solar flare that resulted in a spectacular aurora borealis, visible across realms. Mortals were in awe for weeks.
[]Sun Goddess:[] I once hid away, causing an eclipse. Mortals performed elaborate rituals to coax me out. It was quite entertaining to watch.
[]Celestial Emperor:[] I once decreed a celestial festival, and the mortals celebrated for days, believing it was a divine blessing.
[]Spider Trickster:[] I once tricked a god into believing he had turned invisible. He walked around causing mischief, thinking no one could see him.
[]All-Father:[] It's amazing how our actions influence the mortal world. Speaking of which, any significant plans for the future?
[]The Most High:[] I plan to summon a celestial storm to renew the energy of the cosmos. It's a delicate process but necessary.
[] All-Father:[] But you're no longer on the Throne of Heaven. Your son is.
[]The Most High:[] So? Was it heaven that made me it's Godking or me that decided to become the God King of Heaven?
[] All-Father:[] Hah. I can never understand you sometimes.
[]The Most High:[] Mortal minds can't possibly comprehend the magnanimity of my Thoughts.
[] All-Father:[] You!
[]Thunder King:[] No fighting here. There's an astral realm for that in the Yggdrasil game. Anyways, I'm considering creating a lightning phenomenon to rival Ra's aurora. Something that will be remembered for ages.
[]Great Preserver:[] I'm working on a way to preserve an entire civilization in starlight. It's an ambitious project, but I'm confident it will work.
[]Master of Destruction:[] I'm meditating on a new form of destruction that will pave the way for even greater creation.
[]Creator of Worlds:[] I'm focusing on creating harmonious sentient beings. They will be the epitome of balance and creativity.
[]Solar Lord:[] I'm planning to reignite the cosmic fires in a distant star system. It will be a beacon of light for lost souls.
[]Sun Goddess:[] I'm considering another eclipse, but this time, I'll involve Ra. It will be a celestial event to remember.
[]Celestial Emperor:[] I'm overseeing the alignment of the stars. It's crucial for maintaining celestial harmony.
Seeing the Gods blatantly voicing their thoughts on destroying the common sense of the World, Leucadius immediately turned off the phone and sighed.
Arishem might've thought that by banning the Gods from interfering on Earth, he shackled them, but on the contrary, he'd just given them enough time to experiment on the possibilities their abilities presented.
"And what are you going to do about it?" Aspect asked only for Leucadius to look at him with a deadpan stare. "I see I asked a stupid question."
"That…you did." Leucadius said and stood up. "I'm going to ignore the rude remarks you made earlier and focus on educating my student. In the meantime…do whatever, but don't overdo it."
Saying that, Leucadius walked away.
…
It was currently the summer period of 1519, in France and Leucadius was currently walking through the halls at the Château du Clos Lucé in Amboise.
The Château du Clos Lucé in Amboise, France, was a manor house where Leonardo da Vinci spent the last years of his life. It served as his residence and workplace from 1516 until his death in 1519.
The château was gifted to Leonardo by King Francis I of France, and it is where he continued his work on various projects, including engineering, painting, and scientific studies.
But as of now, through a bit of persuasive negotiation, Leucadius had managed to acquire the place soon after Leonardo was laid to rest from the King.
King Francis I of France who ruled from 1515 to 1547 was a significant figure whom Leucadius decided to observe during this period.
Francis was a great patron of the arts and humanism, attracting many artists, writers, and intellectuals to his court. Notable figures like Leonardo da Vinci and the poet Pierre de Ronsard, thrived under his patronage.
He played a crucial role in bringing Renaissance culture to France, commissioning works that reflect the artistic and architectural developments of the period.
Due to his actions, French Renaissance style was established and would remain visible in structures that'll persist into the far future.
Francis' reign was marked by numerous conflicts with Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor. These included the Italian Wars, where France sought to assert its dominance in Italy.
Despite initial successes, the wars drained France's resources and territories. Due to this, the Concordat of Bologna was drawn. This agreement with the Pope significantly enhanced the French Crown's control over the Church in France, allowing Francis to nominate bishops and abbots, thus consolidating royal power over the Church.
Francis I implemented various administrative reforms to strengthen royal authority, including the establishment of the Chambre des Comptes, a financial institution to manage royal finances.
He founded the Collège de France in 1530, an institution aimed at promoting research and higher education, which became a leading center for intellectual activity in Europe.
"Master Lucien, I don't see why we're here." Tilda asked as she stood beside an aged Leucadius.
Shooting her a glance Leucadius couldn't help shaking his head with a sigh. "You see, my precious student…important events like this are a must attend. You won't understand since you're merely human, but when you're capable of living for as long as I can, do the things I can and see the things I can, you'll probably come to understand."
"I don't think I've learnt anything worth understanding from you this past fifteen years." Tilda murmured to herself.
Leucadius laughed at that and took a step into the new College that is about to be opened up. "At least your anger and hate have subsided by quite a few degrees, isn't that a good thing?"
"You're wrong about that." Tilda said as she followed behind him. "I've dedicated all these years to following you because you're the strongest person I know. When I learn all I need from you, I'll make sure I uproot every last dark sorcerer from the face of the earth."
"A noble aspiration. I look forward to it." Was all Leucadius said without giving her anymore of his attention.
Tilda was already used to this. To Leucadius, her hate, anger, dreams and all whatnot were trivial to him. She'd never met God and anyone worthy of bearing that title, but if she was to put a name and face to the title, then it was Leucadius…or Lucien.
To her, he was the perfect being. Strong, knowledgeable, albeit foolish at times. Slow to anger but horrific when angered. She'd come to understand that Aspect was, as his name implied, an Aspect of her Teacher.
Hence she didn't see them as two separate existences but as a singular existence.
As she was deep in her thoughts, she didn't notice that Leucadius had stopped moving and bumped into him. "Ouch!"
"What do you think?" Leucadius suddenly asked. "The Collège de France, lays emphasis on research and higher education. In the far future, it'll be a beacon in promoting humanist and Renaissance ideals."
"Why are you asking? The University of Paris is much more reputable." Tilda answered.
"Hmm. Perhaps you'll come back here in the future when you're all bald." Leucadius said and shot her an amused glance.
"That's impossible. The day I go bald will be the day I give up my hatred for my enemies." Tilda said and walked past Leucadius. "Which is never."
To her statement, Leucadius only smiled and said. "Be careful what you wish for."
