Chapter 91: Deadshot

The second shot from the high-caliber gun was even louder than the first.

A few months ago, they were attacked by "terrorists" who had been paid a million dollars ahead of time to attack them as Anthony later explained.

Now the situation was repeating itself.

Lena's life had changed completely over half a year ago when their brother Lex died.

Who would've known that after that everything would be out of control so much that it turned out that Tony was a magician and could move across dimensions and other worlds by some magical means.

Tony gave her an "Aura" that immediately made her much stronger and now she could throw cars if she wanted.

Also that they would become lovers... that was the most delightful part.

Lena couldn't even walk and she thought about how Anthony was wasting his potential living with her and taking care of her back then.

Lena's thoughts crossed her mind that she needed to find a "boyfriend" and leave her brother to interfere with his life.

How stupid she was, she could never have been happy with anyone else...

Now she was the head of one of the most successful companies in America, she could walk again, and she lived with the man she loved... even if he was her brother.

Of course, she thought about how long this happiness would last since she couldn't hide their relationship forever.

However, she just had to keep silent even though she didn't want to.

"There's someone I know lurking around here... maybe she'll want to help too."

Tony said and she looked at him. He did look genuinely interested in what would happen.

There was no hint of fear in his eyes with his powers that she had already seen and the one who shot should be the one afraid.

She looked at Tony with concentration and she really wanted closeness and the feeling of being filled up by Tony's presence...

"It seems I'm a pervert too."

The thought flashed through her mind.

...

"Deathstroke, or Slade Wilson. The best and most expensive mercenary in the world at the moment."

She watched as he jumped from a building's window to the ground and ran toward us while pulling a gun from behind his back that had a rocket launcher built into the barrel.

He immediately opened fire on the car to blow it up... but nothing happened as an energy shield flashed over the car.

He likely wouldn't have been able to do much damage to the car without it.

"I advise you to get out of here and forget about this contract."

The barrel of his gun was hit by a small knife with small bullets then fell to the ground under Deathsroke's feet and exploded into pale gray smoke.

At the same time, a female figure in a leather suit jumped from the roof of the building.

"Sweetheart, I didn't build my reputation to just turn down contracts like this and what does the League of Assassins want here?"

He emerged unharmed from the smoke.

"And yes, those common tricks won't work on me... neurotoxin in the smoke, huh?"

Deathstroke smirked, and he probably had a filter or something similar in his mask.

"Not your business."

Miranda continued while maintaining her commanding tone.

"Leave, or we'll have to intervene."

"This contract smelled like crap from the start... but I'm not going to turn down that kind of money."

Deathstroke replied while looking directly at Miranda.

"The League of Shadows doesn't forgive those who interfere with it,"

Miranda tried to stop him.

"Those who hired me don't either."

Deathstroke replied and he moved on her in an instant and delivered a kick to her chest.

She managed to defend herself at the last moment, but the force of the blow was enough for her to leave cracks in the wall of the building with her back and fall to the ground with a painful groan.

"You don't know how to treat women, huh?"

I stepped out of the car.

After analyzing his body, I knew Miranda couldn't stop him without using some tricks.

Deathstroke's body showed more than ten times higher than those of an ordinary person.

He was lucky that his meta-gene turned him into a superhuman with good regeneration and enhanced intelligence.

"I know how to deal with corpses."

Deathstroke said, pulling out a pistol at inhuman speed and shooting me straight in the forehead.

"Bang!"

"That sounded... horribly kinky."

I couldn't help but comment.

Deathstroke reacted more than quickly. He cursed when he realized that I had literally caught the bullet with my hand without visible damage.

Then a thin layer of nanorobot protection covered my body in just a few seconds.

This would immediately show that it's not me who's so invulnerable, but the armor.

"You seriously thought everything would be so easy? You're a brilliant strategist..."

I took a step forward and shielded my face from the explosion of the shot from the grenade launcher aimed at my feet.

"Well, I read that in your file. Wilson, show what you can do, otherwise it'll be too easy to deal with you."

"Arrogant rich boy, why am I not surprised?"

I clearly heard approval in his tone knowing that it would be easier for him to deal with me because of my arrogance.

"He's dangerous... Tony, be careful."

Miranda still hadn't recovered from the blow, but she shouted nonetheless.

She wasn't afraid because she had taken many lives for her life, and she herself had been on the brink of death more than once.

"Too late!"

Deadstroke wanted to kill me to finish the contract and he attacked me aimed at my head since I wasn't wearing a helmet at the moment.

He went faster than sixty kilometers per hour, and one of the edges of his blade was pointed right at my forehead.

"I'm in armor capable of catching tank shells on the fly, do you think your swords will be enough?"

I dodged the blow by moving to the left, and I grabbed the blade of his sword and pulled it out of his hand.

"Not a bad sword... made of Promethium?"

This alloy could accumulate energy, and the Promethium could further enhance it...

It was definitely inferior to Eight Metal, but still quite dangerous for ordinary people or metahumans.

"It seems like your armor too."

Deathstroke made a mistake in his judgment, but I didn't bother to correct him.

"Hey, I've got some interesting weaponry in my armor."

I pointed at him with my palm, and I discharged an energy blast from the center of my hand.

Deathstroke predicted something similar based on my outstretched hand and he dodged to the side while throwing a few grenades at me in the process.

"How many weapons do you have in there?"

I wondered while shielding my face from the explosion with my hand.

Deathstroke took advantage of this distraction and pulled out a knife to try to stab me in the throat... but he encountered a block, and I simply knocked the knife out of his hand, and then we continued to fight with our fists.

I stuck his sword into the ground leaving it behind us.

"You're surprisingly good."

Deathstroke grunted when I delivered a blow to his chest causing her armor to dent.

"And you're not good enough."

Honestly, I expected more from the "genius" of tactics and combat.

In the first minute of our fight, I had already delivered many blows to him while he had failed to land a single one on me.

In the end, I hit him straight in the face which sent him flying a few meters back with his mask broken showing the face of a fifty-year-old man with white hair and no right eye.

"Alright, time to stop playing games..."

"Completely agree."

I replied, clenching my fist... and he tried to dodge the energy blast that shot out from the chest of my armor, but he couldn't block it.

Thus, Deathstroke was slightly burned and crashed into the dumpster can behind him and stopped moving.

"Hmm, I beat up a defenseless old man... an old man with regeneration."

I approached him and kicked him once more with more force and the sound of his ribs cracking indicated that I was doing everything right.

Then, I discreetly put him to sleep with magic because he might still wait for an opportunity to attack after all this.

"If they had hired Deadshot, I would have killed him..."

I whispered.

Deathstroke in the world doesn't just lie on the road... Well, he does now, but that's after I beat him up.

Deadshot is considered a legend in the criminal world.

"And yes, I've already noticed you. The man who never missed."

After I finished my words, another shot rang out from the direction of the building, half a kilometer away from me.

This bullet was flying straight towards my outstretched arm... but it ricocheted straight into my face…

The shooter definitely knows their business and my name is also engraved on the bullet.

Meanwhile, my drone was monitoring him and fired a strong electroshock at him... but that didn't stop Deadshot.

He quickly figured out where the drone was and fired at it with the gun on his wrist.

Cortana was controlling the drone which tried to turn away but was having trouble because it was taking so many hits.

Then it flew straight at Deadshot and deliberately exploded to throw him off the roof.

According to the surveillance cameras, he somehow managed to grab onto the edge of the building... but another drone knocked him off, and he descended from the thirty-story building.

Deadshot didn't have any superpowers and died instantly...

"I'll keep this as a souvenir."

I pocketed the bullet with my name engraved on it.

There could have been another bullet for Lena, but that's just a speculation.

"You defeated him..."

"Miranda" didn't see what was happening half a kilometer from here and she was referring to Deadshot lying at my feet.

"It is not as difficult as one might think. I believe that had he known what I was capable of, I would have prepared better. Are your friends hiding in the shadows? Judging by the camera, it's that crazy Asian lady again. It's like a reunion."

I created a small hologram of people in black suits and that same Asian woman who had attacked me before and was currently spying.

"Shiva?"

Miranda approached me and recognized her, and her expression changed slightly.

"So, father knew..."

"Of course he knew,"

Shiva's voice sounded as she stepped out of the shadows when realizing she had been noticed.

She also gave a disapproving look at the drone... knowing there would be trouble here soon, I took care of them in advance.

In addition, Cortana can watch all the cameras in the city and it wasn't hard to find Deadshot.

"You come to get your face smashed again? Last time, I enjoyed playing with you, and now I'm even in my armor."

I started stretching playfully.

"No... I had to witness what was going to happen."

Shiva shook her head negatively, crossing her arms behind her back.

"Watcher..."

"Miranda" snorted.

"Mercenaries, now assassins... what a day! Are you alright?"

I asked the wounded girl.

"I'm not as weak as you might think... I just didn't expect him to be so strong."

Miranda reluctantly admitted.

"No kidding. You still haven't grown a brain..."

"Miranda" threw a dagger at her, but she caught it without even looking in that direction.

I was lucky that I had witnesses from the beginning, and now everyone who could have seen us from their windows was sound asleep.

"Alright, then leave, I've got other things to do and Miranda, who's not Miranda, next time you better not come in that same name... or your daddy will be mad."

I smirked.

"Do you know who my father is?"

"Miranda furrowed her brows.

"I know a lot of things and about your little organization too... and yes, I'm considering whether to clean it up or not."

I said it thoughtfully.

"There are so many problems in this world... I'll deal with the Court of Owls first."

I grabbed Deathstroke by the collar and dragged him towards the car.

"What are you going to do with him?"

"Miranda" shouted after me.

"I'll set it for him to switch to the 'bright' side. He seems to have problems with his wife, who's gone a bit cuckoo... I'm more than capable of helping her; I have my ways. Talia, I'm glad to have you with me if anything"

I turned and looked her straight in the eyes.

Deathstroke does have problems with his wife, who's gone crazy due to the loss of their son and I could help him, and he'll help me in return.

Besides the Court of Owls, there are other organizations like the League of Assassins.

"That was quite spectacular."

Lena began as soon as I opened the car door.

"Are you alright?"

"Of course."

I magically turned Deathstroke into a small figurine and stashed him in the glove compartment.

"Let's go home. Cortana, did you check on the other one?"

"Yes, it was definitely Floyd Lawton, known as Deadshot and he's dead."

Cortana confirmed.

"Don't worry about it; you did everything right."

I reassured her.

"Does he have any relatives?"

"He has a daughter in Star City."

Cortana confirmed.

"Make sure the girl has a good life and find her a good parents."

I said to her who eagerly nodded not even trying to hide her slight smile.

Meanwhile, I snapped my fingers and used my Will and magic to make Deadshot's body simply dissolve into nothingness.

He had already been seen by enough people, but now his body was gone... less trouble.

It would be even worse if his weapons really did have bullets marked just for Lena.
