Shamelessly drooling

VALENCIA'S POV

What was going on? What was this beta saying?

I looked at the man on the podium mouth agape. There was no way this man here was serious.

"Sir, this -" The dean started speaking, and I squinted my brows.

It was clear that even the dean didn't have any idea of this sudden change in the routine and plans.

Just what was going through this man's head?

I kept contemplating until he left after saying some more words about how they were interested in some kind of research that I was really not interested in.

"Girl, you look pretty shaken up about what happened earlier," I heard Henry say, and I turned my head to look at my friends, who were looking at me with a concerned expression.

It was true. I was shaken up about what happened. But it didn't have anything to do with that fall. Rather, it was the man who had my insides all shaken up because of his mysterious actions.

"Haha, don't worry about it. I am just a little sleepy that's all," I chuckled, and they looked at me as if I was some kind of alien.

"Only you, Cia. Only you can think of sleeping after what happened," Tracy commented, and I smiled.

Well, I was helpless in this case.

Don't blame me. This was one of the disadvantages of my turning into my cat.

Whenever I transform back from my cat form to human form, if I dared to close my eyes and relax, I would instantly fall asleep.

Was it because of the fact that I was supposed to be a wolf and being a cat was taking a toll on my body? Or if it was because cats were born lazy was still a mystery to me.

And my fake wolf here tells me little to nothing about what these things are all about.

'Hey! I am not a fake wolf. Quit talking about me like that,' Aurora scowled, and I scoffed inwardly.

'Yeah? If so, how about we change into a wolf the next time I transform rather than changing into a cat?' I asked her, and the silence I received from the other end was quite loud.

Ha... Thought so. I rolled my eyes before looking ahead at the next professor who walked in and started giving us lectures.

I didn't hear any of it. Yes, my eyes were perfectly wide, and I kept looking ahead too, but my mind was somewhere else. On a particular beta with hazel eyes to be honest.

Hmmm... I honestly didn't want to do it earlier, but I guess, this was the only way to find out the truth.

Oh my knight in shining armor, you threatened the wrong girl. Or should I say the wrong cat?

A smile appeared on my lips as I waited for the day to end.

~~~~~~
'Seriously, what are we doing here, Cia?' Aurora asked me for the umpteenth time as I stood near the east borders of the Dark Callisto pack.
Yes, you guys guessed it right. I was going to check a few things myself, and for that, I needed to enter the forbidden area.
In any circumstances, any normal person who knows her life is in danger because this pack inhabits the strongest alpha wolf in the world at the moment, I know I was risking a lot.
But I need to know what these people might be discussing about me.
I wanted to know if they really believed Dylan's words and did not suspect me anymore. Because if they believed, they really don't have any real reason to waste their time at the University out of the blue.
And if they don't believe me, I will have to find stronger evidence in my defense. It's better to be prepared beforehand.
It was close to midnight and half of the pack must be already asleep. It was a good thing that they couldn't smell me, and I could move freely as long as they didn't see me.
Without wasting a second, I jumped the walls and hid behind the bushes to see what was going on and if any guards were moving to where I was.
When I didn't see anyone, I crouched and rushed behind another tree.
I repeated this same process, quickly lying down behind a bush when I saw two guards moving towards where I jumped earlier.
Once they left, I walked inside, noticing how well-developed this pack really was.
Though the pack was situated in the middle of the forest, a small village-like thing for the humans, the insides of it were nothing village-like. Almost every house was a two-story building and the architecture was just… damn...
They even had small fountains at every small distance, and I wouldn't lie, but this pack was like heaven for the wolves. No wonder, these people don't keep a connection with the outer world, with their company building just outside this village in the city, where half of the population works.
The pack house of the pack wasn't hard to pinpoint. It was the most lavish-looking cottage with a marvelous structure.
Not wanting to be caught lurking in the open like this, I rushed to the pack house at once.
No. I didn't come here unprepared. I had little information about this pack.
Unlike other packs where most higher-ranking people stay in the pack house, that wasn't the case here. And even if their people lived in a pack house temporarily, their alpha had a different home.
Thus, the chances of the alpha being in the pack house were almost next to nil.
Without wasting time, I looked around and climbed the balcony of the second floor.
From what the rogues had told me a week ago when I encountered a group, they said that the ground floor was for the pack meeting, the first floor was servant quarters and the second floor was for the upper-rank wolves.
If I was lucky, I might actually get to see the beta here.
As soon as I moved the curtains out of the way slightly to see if there was anyone in the room while crouching down, my heart almost leaped in my mouth when I saw a man walking out of the bathroom with only a towel wrapped around his torso.
And it was just my luck, that man was none other than the beta of the pack, my oh-so knight in shining armor.
Seeing the water beads dripping down his skin, I don't know why I was feeling like I was watching some illegal video on some illegal site.
'It's not illegal to watch this exquisite sight. How much I wished you could remove this curtain properly, and I could gaze at his perfect abs. Ohhh, that cemented chest,' Aurora moaned in my ears, making heat creep up my neck.
Did she just…moan? Just at the sight of him??
The man, who was about to open his closet to get his set of clothes, paused and raised his hand, sniffing the air, and making me widen my eyes.
Wait. How could I forget that he could smell me? Damn it, Aurora!
'You creep. Get it under your control. He can already smell us. If you keep up your act and give me any more images, he will definitely smell your arousal,' I growled at her inwardly.
'Wait. Why is it that you are imagining and getting aroused, but I am the one to be blamed? It's on you. It's your body, not mine,' She shifted the blame back on me, making me sigh.
'On a serious note, wouldn't you like to touch that fine piece and lick it a little?' My fake wolf asked, and I closed my eyes, a little frustrated. I was a little frustrated because I didn't want to agree that she was right.
I groaned inwardly.
Seriously, this wasn't what I was here for.
'But doesn't the sight make it worth it?' Aurora asked again and I massaged my forehead unsure.
"Shadow! Shadow!" Someone shouted outside, and the man sniffing the air walked to the door and opened it, looking towards someone on the left side while my gaze was drawn to his perfect back.
"What's with this noise?" He asked.
Well, at least one thing was clear. He was indeed Shadow, the beta of the pack, and wasn't lying.
"I am sorry, sir, but a suspicious thing is found on the eastern border. It looks like a female's earring piece, and it doesn't belong to anyone in our pack," the man said.
My eyes widened and my hands reached for my ears.
Damn it.
I completely forgot to take off my earrings today before coming here.
'God damn it, Valencia! Look what you did,' Aurora immediately said, and I rolled my eyes.
'Now you are blaming me. Who was the one drooling over this dripping beta just a second ago? Shut up and keep your cool,' I said to her, listening to them.
Come on. Talk about the matters of today. Talk about what you think of the girl in the University and I will be gone as soon as I hear that. I prayed in my head.
"Wait," The beta suddenly said before he paused, and in a split second, he turned his head to look directly at where I was.
F*ck!
