Arix sat at the table in a small yard, looking absolutely stunned. Her eyes were wide as she stared at Cassian. "Are you serious? Your father really promised to grant me a wish?"
"Yep," Cassian confirmed with a nod. Then, with a slight frown, he added, "My dad is so tight-fisted, though—just one wish. If it were up to me, I'd give you three, Arix."
Arix felt a bit awkward. She scratched her head and chuckled, "One is plenty. More than enough, really."
Since finding out Cassian was the crown prince, Drexel had been sitting in a chair, deep in thought. But hearing Arix, he snapped back to reality and looked at her with keen interest. "Arix, you actually have a wish?"
"Yeah, and it's a really good one," Arix said, her eyes softening as she thought about her time with Mama Tiger. Just the memory made her feel warm inside.
